La Superior Mercados

This is long overdue. I used to go to the one on Northgate, since moving to the area I came here a few times in the summer. I noticed a pattern of being treated poorly and getting looked at with evil eyes by the clerks. I would get a pastry and the woman who was there again tonight, will look at me and continue to do whatever she is doing. Finally when she feels like it, she will come to ask me what I want. Always rude. The cashiers are even worse. Finally after the third visit I decided not to go back. To top it off they sold me "fresh" salsa that was rancid. I had to throw it out. Well tonight there was a fire down the road and the roads were blocked. The train was haulted and I had to take a detour home. I drove by and decided to get some plantains and give the salsa another try and get a small cake. Right as I walk in the girl at the register scans my entire body. Doesn't say hello, nothing. I go to try the salsa to make sure it is not spoiled and the man was so rude, he rushed me to the point were I didn't order anything else. I then go to the pastries and low and behold dumbledore is standing behind the register. She watches me approach then heads all the way to the back to fiddle around for almost 10 mins. I tell her not to package my pastry that I will take it in the container. She disregards me and does it anyway. I wanted a soda but I felt so uncomfortable that I just wanted to check out and leave the store. I get to the register and the girl calls over this old lady to look at me. She is looking at my leg tattoos up and down. I tell her I'm going to grab some plantains and she didn't acknowledge me. When I check out, she didn't look at me at all. She was talking to the old lady who was just burning a hole through me. You see, I am Spanish, my family is of Cuban decent. I have cream colored skin, brown hair. I speak to everyone in spanish when I go to hispanic markets as a courtesy. My dilect is that of a Cuban. It's so curious to me how people claim "razas unidads". But they actually despise anyone who doesn't look like them. From now on, I will speak to them in English. While sporting my patriotic attire.-Las muchachas el la caja y la señora que trabaja en los postres son bien groseras. Y el hombre el la carnicería tambien. No duda que cada vez que a tenido que ir a su tienda me maltratan. Desgraciadamente no hay tiendas para todas las razas hispanas. No hay otra opcion pero tener que ir y aguantarle las comemierdades a esta gente que no tienen educación. ¿Tu sabes lo que es ir a comprar comidad de su tienda, dar mi dinero y encima tener que ser respetosa y aguantar mi lengua para no comerme las? Es una desgracia. Su tienda no apoya a niguno que no se parece a tu gente. Como esta el mundo, tener yo que sentir me mal, me quitaron las ganas ni de comer fijate. ¡Educanse caballero¡ Van a seguir perdiendo clientes por las ignorancias y envidia de tus empleados. Por gusto y por nada.

Love this store! The produce is always fresh and they have a lot of variety of my favorite snacks and drinks.

Absolutamente a great place to shop for your Mexican food needs. Friendly staff & lots of wonderful products. Their prepared foods & meat department have delicious options for any occasion. Their regular everyday groceries are overpriced in comparison to major grocery options.

The staff was friendly and helpful. I like that there's a restaurant where you can get hot food in the supermarket. I also felt like the food was pretty reasonably priced.

Great spot for ingredients if you're making Mexican food. We love chili verde and love to come here for chilis and tomatillos. Great butcher shop, lots of produce. Prices are great - lower than Safeway. The cocina inside is great for cooked meals for a party. The taqueria is excellent also - delicious $2 tacos!No fancy stuff- couldn't find dishwasher pods, only soap. But Safeway is around the corner!

Excellent Mexican supermarket chain. I stop it every blue moon if there are meat specials in the ad online. Last time I went to town on Arroz con leche $1.99 lb. Bought 6 lbs. Staff is usually very friendly and it helps my conversational Spanish is pretty good. They also have a section with cakes, pan dulces and a mini food spot (burritos, tacos, dishes, chicharron etc.

I feel incredibly lucky to have this grocery store in the area. Staff is knowledgeable and attentive. Nice selection of items.

I Love their pan dulce especially their mini concha's they are so cute and delicious. Everything is clean and organized, I enjoy going there for lunch.

I am beyond furious me and my fiancé went in first time here ever the papausas is what caught our eye. We go in and order the lady was really nice on that side for hot food (restaurant side) we ate and while eating my fiancé wanted a Diet Coke mind you when getting rung up the first time for the papusas the on the restaurant side the card reader was giving issues. So to save time I told my fiancé I'm going to the front to pay for the soda I waited in a long line. No complaints. Paid for the soda and returned to our table to finish eating. I told my fiancé let's walk around the store so I can introduce him to pastries of my ethnic background. So we do so. Got our pastries and tres leches piece and got In line again. Thank goodness it was the young lady that had rung me up for the Diet Coke cause the manager approached her as we were getting run up stating In spanish they did not pay for the soda mind you when we where eating this manager was on lunch eating right in front of us she obviously does not pay attention to her surroundings but my cashier who originally rung us up shared with Sofia yea they did. Little to the managers knowledge I speak Spanish so I stated to her WE PAID FOR OUR SODA AND OUR CASHIER CONFIRMED MIND YOU I HAVE MY RECEIPTS AND IF THEY WANTED ROLL BACK CAMERAS PLEASE ROLL BACK CAMERAS. This was embarrassing very embarrassing I will never return here the manager Sofia running this place needs more training on floor awareness and procedures and protocols. The approach she took by far unprofessional and anyone with this approach should not be working groceries or retail as this can cause a bad look for the business.

I came in while it was relatively empty I waited patiently for service. I was ignored until I spoke up. A few Hispanic families came in and were immediately serviced. I'm black, when I was helped I was met with eye rolls when I tried to tell them my order for what I wanted in my burrito. I ended up returning the food. The burrito was full of only rice and beans and I had to argue to get my refund. The lady at the registers showed no customer service skills and language wasn't a barrier.
