For an appetizer we got the yucas fritas and they were really good especially the sauce that comes with themI had the half rotisserie chicken which came with regular fries and they were delicious thick fries sooo good, the chicken had a nice Smokey taste My husband got the lomo saltado which he really enjoyed We got the non alcoholic passion fruit drink and mixed it with sparkling water because we don't like very sweet drinks and then it was perfect Everything came out pretty fast and the service was goodI like this place!

FOOD- Arroz del Pacifico Sur: Peruvian paella. Rice with shrimp, calamari, scallops, carrots, peas and red bell peppers. This was very tasty. It's creamier and saucier than your typical paella. I ordered mine without clams and mussels. Huge portion. 4/5SERVICE: Friendly and attentive. There's a little bit of a language barrier but we there were no hiccups. 4/5FINAL THOUGHTS: I may come back and try other dishes. Prices are a little steep but the portions were big. The buffet is overpriced. There an island of salad/desserts and another island of food.

Went here for dinner with some friends on a Friday day. We got there early at 5:30 and the place was really empty. People started coming in around 6-7ish and it got pretty full. The restaurant is Peruvian and they have a cute souvenir shop inside that sells stuffed animal llamas, shirts, coffee all from Peru. The llamas are so cute and a lot of the souvenir items are made from real llama fur Since we were one of the first for dinner service, we were greeted at the door and shown around at the shop. Our server was excellent and explained the menu and her favorites since it was our first time dining there. we started off with the empanada sampler: carne, chorizo con pina and pollo. All of them were absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend trying their empanada sampler For main entree we got the lomo saltado (stir fried beef, onions, tomatoes) and comes with fries. I highly recommend this dish as it's a classic Peruvian dish. The meat was so tender and flavor was on point. The fries were good too. I also loved their passion fruit drink, it was refreshing and perfectly tangyThe seco de codero (lamb shank) was just okay and the pescado a Lo macho had mahi mahi, calamari and shrimp in a yellow pepper sauce. The sauce was tasty but the mahi mahi felt a bit dry. Overall, worth going and try their lomo saltado and empanadas. There aren't that many Peruvian spots around so it's nice to have one nearby. I heard they also have daily lunch buffets and their buffets on the weekend have more options including seafood. I'll have to go back again to try their buffet sometime

We went back on November 29, 2024. My wife had the Lomo saltado, which is one of my favorites. The portion was generous and had great flavor. I had the pollo a la brasa (Peruvian-style roasted chicken). Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. I had previously tried it in several restaurants on the East Coast and in Los Angeles. It had always been outstanding. Instead of roasting it, they used liquid smoke, and in excess. I have used this technique in other dishes myself, but in this one, it tasted like they submerged the chicken into a vat of liquid smoke. I'm afraid I could not finish it. Their flan was an outstanding dessert. They slightly toast the caramel, which gives it a nice boost in flavor. We will probably come back for their lunch buffet, to find other good dishes

Love the variety of dishes here! It's generally more variety than other Peruvian restaurants that I've been to! The ceviche was my favorite dish. I liked the lomo saltado but I prefer it with a lot of sauce. This one is more dry. Overall the vibes and decor are really nice!

I really enjoyed this experience! La Huaca serves classic Peruvian dishes, including Pollo a la Brasa on the weekends. The dining area is warm and inviting, and on the night we went, there was a musician playing the guitar. Our server was excellent- attentive and friendly. I highly recommend La Huaca if you love Peruvian food and are looking for a good spot, or if you've never had it and want to give it a try.

Updating my review as we've been here twice now, once for dinner and more recently for their lunch buffet. Between the two options, we'd opt to return for the dinner and skip the buffet. My husband and I both really enjoyed the food at dinner. The flavors were great and portion size was fair. However, we were very put off by the service of our waiter last time. We were rushed through the meal and ignored. It took nearly an hour to get our food but then within minutes of getting the entrees, we were given the check. Then a minute or two later while we were still eating, he came back and asked us to make our payments. It was insulting and we felt like we were being rushed out. During our recent lunch visit, service was better but the food was worse. The lunch buffet is small and the quality is less than their dinner service. It's so expensive and just isn't frankly worth it. There's a small salad bar, rice, fries, a soup, lentils, and a few entrees basically. It wasn't the variety we were hoping for given the expensive price. The food was lukewarm and just not that appetizing. It's a much better deal to get a regular entree. Both times we've visited have been for special occasions, but honestly inside it doesn't feel that nice. It is inside an old Sizzler and the ambiance is no nicer than it was back then. Ultimately, there isn't a lot of choice for other Peruvian meals locally so we may return. I hope service improves in the future. Also, the price is high for what you get so be prepared for that.

We have visited several times before, several years ago...we should return more often! The lamb entree, seco de cordero con frijoles, is superlative, the Peruvian beans complement perfectly. Cheviche and yuca options are wonderful too. Check out there large menu, something tasty for everyone. Large and festive ambiance, spacious and open, even a small gift boutique inside, and very attentive service. When guests are in town take them here for unique and outstanding dining. Easy I-80 access for you folks traveling through.
