Dill sauce bomb. Warm baguette bomb. Sandwiches are good. Salad is good. Little pricey but I always get what I expect.

Overall 3.5/5Food: 3.5/5Service: 3.5/5Price 3/5Came here for lunch. Got the Classic turkey sandwich on baguette. It was aiite (alright). Nothing special. Really small considering the sandwich was $11+. For the price you pay and the amount you get, its not a good deal at all. This was the only option to get lunch since all the other business in walking distance were closed the day after 4th of July.Sad to say, I won't be spending money here again.

I was attending the WACAC conference in Sacramento next to the state capitol at the end of May. On the last Friday, my colleagues and I ate breakfast before attending the last day.The cafe is clean, quiet, inviting and welcoming. The pastries are delicious and light and flaky. The coffee is hot and with a balanced flavor that is on par. It was a great experience and wonderful start to our morning.

Really La Bou! Really! Don't go here, they charge you insane prices since they're close to the capital? 17 dollars for a sandwich smaller than the fork they gave me for the rotted smelling fruit I got. Never again will I allow myself to be ripped off by an establishment. Go next door to the convenience store at least you won't get robbed there!

I've always been a huge fan of La Bou since they were located at 1313 J where I worked. It was always a huge temptation to eat there ALL THE TIME since they were just downstairs. Their pastries are always perfectly flaky and crisp on the outside, tender and moist inside. The soups and salads are delicious and you can order halves, so you don't have to eat too much, which is important as a small older woman. The coffees are also top notch. I love the raisin custard pastry, Thai soup and Chinese chicken salad. My nickname at work was spicy Asian noodle salad (I worked in environmental the Corps of Engineers and we all had food nicknames). That location has long since closed, but this location is just as wonderful. We ran into our State Assemblymember and took a selfie, so there's a political bird-watching component, too.

Homemade ham and cheese croissants are amazing. Nice in house specialty coffees. My favorite place for Saturday morning meals.

I work nearby so sometimes I am forced to get lunch here. It is always a mistake. You would think that a 13-dollar veggie sandwich would at least have fresh ingredients. But not at La Bou. Their veggie club had the mealiest apples I've eaten since the 1990s. Next time I will just settle for a meal replacement bar from the bodega next door. Again, the staff are friendly and the service is great. It's the actual food that and beverages that are below subpar.

Hi,Yuk!!!I stopped by this "empty" restaurant at around 1111 hrs this morning [Wed] - the 13th of Nov 2024. It has gone downhill since after CoViD kicked in. Yikes!!! I will never go there.Considering the fact that I order a 'spicy thai chicken' soup - what I received was a soup filled with a 'yellow' lentil filled with rice grains only. Yuk!!! How do you do that? When I mentioned that to the lady server who had packed it for me, she said that that is what I ordered. And the cashier also kind-a supported that lady server. This one particular lady server was so very rude. After I told her this, I went and thrashed 'that yucky' soup in the dustbin right in front of her.How in this great world are you going to survive if you plan to and continue serving your "yucky" [non-standard - for the name at least] soups? If anyone cares for the future of this restaurant, I still have the receipt for it.Thanx!M D -

Well this is about two incidents that at two different times that adds up to a more round summation of well what I would say at the least a weird customer service practice that if I read between the lines the store was almost accusing me of trying to get one over on them or that's what it feels like, let me explain The first incident I ordered a large vanilla latte and they made a small. When I brought it to their attention they said they make another and I told them if they don't mind I keep the small tooInstead of making the large they made a medium you know the medium and small would make the large in volume instead of making a large and letting me just keep the small. And the second incident ordered an almond croissant and they gave me a cinnamon bun when I went to tell them they messed up the manger took the order out of my hands and threw it away got me the almond croissant and when I asked why did she throw it away of course she said well because of heath reasons once it leaves the counter we can not put it back in the display. But I said you could have offered to me and gave me what I first ordered instead of wasting the food and she insisted that if I wanted the almond croissant she had to sacrifice the cinnamon bun. I asked her if that was her doing or company policy she said it was company policyI do not like your company policy of wasting food like that and well I feel like I will be avoiding eating at your establishment in the future

Improve everything!!! Sandwiches are mostly a piece of bread, a smidge of mayo and mustard, a wilted piece of lettuce, tomato ends and one slice of meat folded in 4. All for about $10 plus taxes and tips expected. Used to be a favorite around here but nowadays its yuck. Not to mention the tables outside w no chairs or inside trash left open... no customer service.... If you arrive after 12.30 they are out of everything.
