La Barca Birria & Mariscos

Wow!I went on a quest to get tacos for Taco Tuesday. I found this hidden gem close to my house. Absolutely delicious. I can't wait to go back!

This was an Uber Eats Delivery, but sooo Good! I am a Birria connoisseur lol the meat was good, the shells still had a small crisp, it was a good taco! The consome was a bit on the watery side, but I like the big chunks of onion and cilantro. Uber Eats didn't offer sides of beans and rice, so I ordered a kids quesadilla meal. The rice was really good, it was flavorful and tasted like I made it in the kitchen and the beans and the quesadilla tasted how it should! I would definitely eat here again, looking forward to trying it in person.

Met a group for dinner here last night. The owner is very nice and accommodating which is much appreciated but please, your refried beans are dry and gummy and the bright red enchilada sauce isn't very appealing in taste or appearance. I didn't order crispy tacos but from looking at them on the plate across from me, looked store bought. Hopefully the owner makes some changes otherwise I won't be going back.

How do you make Mexican food bland? Maybe I should have tried the Birria, based on their name? But the carnitas and shrimp were both so disappointing. Even asking for spicy, everything was just so dull. Overly salty but still flavorless. The beans were mushy and pasty. We pulled STOREBOUGHT salsa out of our fridge for the chips, since theirs was so salty and boring. Won't be going back.

Great dinner here after the drive up the 99 from Fresno. This place was close to our Airbnb and open till at least 9pm-since we got into town about 7:45, this was the perfect place. Very friendly and welcoming service. Seemed like a fun Friday night spot, good sized crowd in the patio singing karaoke and enjoying beers. We had a Modelo, carne asada tacos and their Americano taco. The Americano was my fav-so juicy , crispy taco shell, fresh toppings and cheese. I'd like to try more of their menu next time I visit Sac. Dining area, bar seating , and patio. Looked like a great place to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Picked up some food here before going to bingo. The birria taco plate was so delicious!! The service was excellent. I had only wished I ordered me food because when I was done eating I was craving more tacos!!

My kids and I eat here all of the time. Everything we've ever gotten was absolutely delicious... except the chilaquiles. May have just been an off day but they were horrible. They have catered for my team members and everyone was pleased. Friendly staff, clean restaurant.

So trying this place for the first time this evening.**Please note the reviews sighting free chips and salsa and the complete absence of a listing for chips and salsa on any of the menus.**I placed an order for greater than $30 and had my assistant pick the order up.(Oh yeah there was no listing on the online menu for chips and salsa either absolutely no option whatsoever)So my deepest apologies for thinking that the free chips and salsa bar that was mentioned in the reviews and not listed as an option with a price on any menu was complimentary as it is to all the other customers.The man behind the counter who was serving my assistant was incredibly rude and inappropriate with my assistant.When she inquired regarding chips and salsa he became angry and verbally berated her. He demanded payment for the chips and salsa and would not allow her to choose chips and salsa from the self serve bar. Instead he provided a small amount of stale chips and a single small cup of salsa or his choice.When the food arrived there was no cheese on or consume for the birria taco and the shrimp Diablo was disgusting. Needless to say the whole mess went into the garbage. So much for my Friday dinner and money.Do not waste your time, money or appetite at this place. They have no integrity with the quality of their product, their service to their customers or in their business practices.I hope this review from a first time customer was worth the temper tantrum and the honest review of the quality and integrity of your restaurant.

Good service and I got the super quesadilla with grilled chicken. Food was good and price was not bad.

I was a little disappointed that the Birria tacos don't come with consommé (or at least mine didn't). The pictures and reviews show the tacos coming with consommé and I checked and they don't sell it on the side so I was expecting it to be included. Unfortunately I didn't check the bag until I got to work so I couldn't go back and ask for some. For me the consommé is the best part of birria tacos so I was pretty sad. That being said, the tacos were super good (a bit dry because no consommé but still good!) and the prices are unbeatable! I just recommend asking for the consommé if you order birria:) I plan to go again to get the full experience :)
