Great service, family owned. The sushi specials were fresh! Jalapeno poppers and calamari were a cut above what other places serve. Smallish dining area but a hidden neighborhood gem.

9/4/23Happy Labor Day Monday!!!It was an Uber lazy day for us and while we should have bbq'ed and hung poolside...but we decided to go support local businesses. We got here at 5:15pm and they only had one other table seated. We started with some waters, ordered some apps to start. Apps: Spicy edamame served warmed. Yum.Beef tataki - kids favSalmon carpaccio - adult favs (melts in your mouth good)Ordered 4 rolls and 2 bento boxes and this was the order it came in despite ordering it all together:Bob RollFour seasons roll1 bento box (tonkatsu and salmon Katsu)1 bento box (tonkatsu and tempura)Oceans trio roll (soy wrapper)Long wait...for our last roll...(15-20mins)...warriors rollApology for the serious wait. We were practically done eating and 3 out of 4 glasses of water was empty before the last roll came out. We never got a refill or extra napkins or checked on during our meal. The food was good and fish was fresh but service needs massive help. By 6pm, there were other tables and all waiting to be serviced. One sushi chef. One person waiting tables, taking orders and managing the restaurant. I believe there was 1 maybe 2 in the back frying things. It felt like there was only 3 people there. A man walked up and asked where his food was. A woman received a 10% discount for something from the establishment before paying. We were offered nothing. Lots of Togo orders. Located in a shopping center with ample parking. Has indoor and outdoor table. They simply just need more help servicing. Maybe it was an off day and it being a holiday probably gave them a rush they weren't expecting. Hoping the next time we come back, service will be better.

We ordered two sushi platters the night before my daughter's birthday. Picked it up the next day with no problems. $100 per tray is a pretty good deal. Will definitely be ordering from here in the future!

WHEN: Mon @11:45amPARKING: since it's located in an outdoor shopping center, there is plenty of free parking.Wanted to try a new Japanese spot in the area and was excited cuz my nephew loves ramen! Sadly, because of new management, they don't serve any noodles at all (that includes udon too). They should have removed this section in the menu. From what it seems, the staff is quite new at running this operation, and didn't expect there to be this many customers on Presidents Day. I think they were under staffed so everything took a long time to come out. Also, I can see them prepping take-out orders. There were a lot of instances that were weird (miscommunication, lack of knowledge, etc.) and I won't get into details. Our server seemed like it was his first day, but I can tell he was really trying and had to juggle serving customers both inside and out on the side patio.Anyway, here's what we had:MISO SOUP - $2Ordered this for the kiddos since they don't serve any noodle soup. HAMACHI CARPACCIO - $15.956 pieces with some shredded daikon and slices of jalapeño. This was a good appetizer!TEMPURA - $7.95One prawn, and mix vegetables (broccoli, carrot, zucchini, onion, yam). This was sadly served with watered down soy sauce, not tempura. When I asked for tempura sauce they insisted it was it, but I knew what I was tasting. The tempura itself was not good, I don't recommend it. The batter was thick and dry, not like the airy kind in tempura you'd expect.CALAMARI TEMPURA - $8.95Deep Fried Squid, Spicy Mayo sauce.Yeah this was fine.GYOZA - $7.95Deep fried or pan fried pork pot stickers, served with sweet chili sauce. This was decent!LUNCH CHICKEN TERIYAKI - $14.95Grilled tender chicken with teriyaki sauce, Salad, Rice, and CA Roll (or gyoza, Hartman, or croquette). The lunch is $3 cheaper than if you ordered it for dinner. This lovely bento box had 2 empty slots. I think they should have filled them with a slice of orange, and the other with ginger and wasabi to fill it in. Otherwise, presentation wise, it looks incomplete, haha. My grandma had this and she seemed to thought it was good. She chose the CA rolls, and it's 4 pieces.BIG BOSS - $17.95Deep fried soft crab, cucumber, snow crab, spouts) soy wrap, unagi, avo, unagi sauce, garlic mayo, onion, masago.Oh yeah this was good, we enjoyed it a lot. They cut this roll into 9 pieces.BAKED SCALLOP - $15.95This roll is quite small. 8 tiny pieces but it was tasty.PHOENIX - $18.95Tuna, nSalmon, Hamachi, Kani, E-bike, Sprouts, Cucumber wrapped, Ponzy Sauce, Sriracha. We asked that they use Spicy Mayo in place of Sriracha, so that was nice they did that. It was pretty hard to pick up though, and I think the cucumber wrapping should be thinner. Though things kept falling apart and it was messy, it was still tasty. For dessert we were told that they have mochi (strawberry, Mango, and chocolate) for $2 each. We asked if it was ice cream and we were told no. When it came out, it WAS mochi ice cream, and instead of mango it was matcha. Yeah, another weird instance. It was cute how they plated it:Each mochi I cream piece was cut split into 4 pieces to share, topped with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and sprinkles.Sadly, our experience wasn't great, but we understand the staff was overwhelmingly busy and they are learning. We didn't have an awful time, we ate the food, and enjoyed ourselves.

Updated Review 7/21/22:It's under new ownership, seems unorganized still. I've managed a few restaurants in the past, I can see that will take time. The biggest difference we noticed immediately was the rolls shrunk and lacked the presentation. Our Bob roll and the Lion King was so much smaller than what we were used to. There's also barely any sauce on the plates. Server/sushi chef also asked if we wanted wasabi and ginger. This visit was a shocker to us.

Nigiri was pretty good. I always seem to expect a bit larger pieces of fish for the price...Wish the menu had more nigiri combo plate's. I will have to try this place again before I can really give a fair review.....pretty casual place.
