Came here for a class fieldtrip from Sacramento State. A very nice and well taken care of venue. I am also 99% sure that this place is haunted. The eyes of the paintings follow you, this place was also a home where in the basement they genetically modified humans to be advanced in the early 20th century. Overall a fun place, but stay out of the basement!

I used to work in the wedding trade in Sacramento and think the Julia Morgan House is one of the loveliest settings for a daytime wedding in Sacramento. What's important to note is that the home is built in a nice, urban neighborhood with people living RIGHT NEXT DOOR. My understanding is that now, amplified music is no longer allowed because it disturbs the peace of the neighborhood. For many years, the house was used by CSUS as an office building, so it's no wonder that once it was restored, the folks living nearby were troubled by the noise and "chaos" that surrounds weddings and large scale events. If you're looking for a notably "pricey" locale for a quiet, intimate affair, this may be the place you're looking for. If you want a big party with lots of dancing and loud music, I'd recommend other venues in town that don't lie in the midst of a family-oriented neighborhood.
