I feel bad that the cake from this place was as bad as it was. A family friend brought one for my son's birthday and you could tell she spent a lot of money on it. The cake was very pretty, but inedible. The cake itself weighed a ton. It was overly sweet and all you could taste was sugar and it was soooo dry. 10 guests and no one could eat more than a bite or two. Everyone politely said they were full and left it at that. The next day we all called each other to talk about the cake. It was the worst anyone had ever had. But it was decorated very nicely ;)

Cake was delivered extremely late with phone calls of every excuse in the book. Ranging from, it's too hot for a cake (temp was low 80s) then we weren't a venue and didn't have proper refrigeration(which we did and talked about having room in fridge), then a claim of homeless incident that police have zero recollection on. Very stressful for a wedding day. Cake was finally put into place after the ceremony around 5:30. At 7:30 the cake was still frozen and couple couldn't even cut through first layer. First layer was burnt and tasted awful. Well known local caterer cut remainder and second and third layer also frozen. She swears she never freezes cake and only had in freezer for 20 minutes. We approached JoJo and she insisted she had to "look into this" with the California food standards. Very confused on why that matters. Cake should've been in place before wedding. The design was also supposed to be fine lace and a picture was sent. She said that it was a "copyright" problem to design fine lace. We also ordered cookies and some looked okay and others like a child made them. Everything about this experience was awful. Definitely don't recommend this business especially for a wedding. She even had excuses of the drive was too long and worker needed gas. We just wanted cake in place on time agreed. If you do sign a contract... know that her arrival time is one thing and she gives herself 3 extra hours to assemble. So it may or may not be ready when you hope for.

I popped on into JoJo's bakery after having lunch next door in the same shopping plaza. The bakery recently opened up in this brick n mortar shopfront. The owner baked as a home business previously. Luv that entrepreneur spirit to expand. The bakery was in its soft opening phase. But they did for sure have a variety of cupcakes $2.50 and cookies (jumbo $3 and regular 6 for $5), chocolate covered strawberries, brownies $4 and lemon bars $4. She even sold DIY cookie kits. Everything looked darn yummy and beautifully decorated. I landed on a pumpkin cheesecake cupcake and jumbo chocolate chip cookie. It was wrapped to go. The cookie was on the crisp side. The cupcake was delicious. The cupcake had all the fall flavors in a moist dense cake. It didn't fall apart after first bite. The frosting was a perfect consistency, not runny or hard. Also not overly sweet. Ohhh that cupcake was heavenly. Still thinking about it. The owner/baker takes custom orders including cakes which seem to be her specialty. I suggest you look at her IG @jojosbakery90 and her Facebook JoJo's Bakery for photos and customer comments. The cakes are impressively decorated. Gorgeous. And she has a sense of whimsy. I was very unhappy with the presentation and quality of this cake. They were just finishing squeezing in the writing on the cake when I walked in. I asked for fall color butter cream roses. They had these ridiculous looking fake flowers taking up the whole top of the cake. I was in a hurry so no time to change it.My friend and I changed the decorations . I was embarrassed when we were at the restaurant with 10 friends and they cut the cake. The cake was not moist or fresh. It was hard. The butter cream frosting was ok. I paid $38.00 for a 6" cake. I would expect better. I won't be going there again or referring them.

Wanted something sweet and I thought I would give them a try. Got a chocolate peanut butter cupcake. It was an average size cupcake, tasted good except for the greasy butter cream on top which tasted like it was on the verge of going bad. $3.50 is also a little pricey for a chocolate cupcake with a small amount of peanut butter squeezed in the center.

This is not the correct address for Jojo's bakery. The bakery is located in Placerville. The owner confirmed with yelp that this account was created by someone else and has been stealing our information and posting false information.

The cake was barely edible. It consisted of thick layers of excessively sweet buttercream (very innovative!) and sponge cake drenched in additional sugar. None of the guests at the table ate their slice. Overall, it reflects very mediocre home-style baking rather than professional quality.

Do not order from this bakery!! I have now ordered from them twice in two years and I have had issues both times. Went to pickup as scheduled on day of party and they were closed and once I finally got ahold of them, I was told they were over an hour away at a wedding and wouldn't be back for hours. Their solution was to offer free delivery when the party would be over and when we did finally pick up we receive a few small snickerdoodles in a box and they told the person picking up to "apologize for them". Cupcakes taste generic and not impressed by any of my party guest. Better off getting my cupcakes from Safeway. 0/10

Wife and I stopped in while picking up dinner from next door. Smelled lovely when we first walked in, I am a sucker for chocolate butter cream and the chocolate cupcake didn't disappoint. Frosting was smooth and velvety with no trace of graininess. Cupcake was moist and not to sweet, a very nice balance between cake and icing. We will be back to try the lemon cupcake and those brownies are just screaming for a scoop of ice cream on top sometime this summer.

Jojo's cakes are so moist and beautifully decorated. I think she can do any theme, she is amazing as to what she creates. Her cookies are to die for. You won't be sorry for choosing Jojo's Bakery.
