Went briefly after going elsewhere in Folsom and man I wish we lived closer! It's sooo shady and beautiful here. The whole playground area and splash pad have ample shade. They have slides for diff ages, toddler swings and normal swings. Haven't tried the trails or other areas, but it's a large park!

"At the end of the day, your feet should be dirty, your hair messy and your eyes sparkling." ~ShantiOn Saturday afternoon with my toddler and her grandma, we came to check out this cool splash park for her to play in! She was nervous at first, but once we went with her in the sprinkles of water she was all for it and began to splash and run in and out of the water over and over by herself screaming in enjoyment until she was soaked from head to toe! I would highly recommend visiting this community park before the summer ends, what a perfect way to beat the summer heat, my toddler really had a blast and I cannot wait to return for her to experience it again! They also have a large playground with a spinning wheel, swing sets etc. she quite enjoyed playing with another child that was there and the largest and most beautiful field I have ever seen to play various sports! Come check it out!

We came to John Kemp Park today to as I had seen Online that they had a splash pad and large playground for kids. I really wanted to take my 2 1/2 yr old granddaughter to experience how fun a splash pad was, as my own kids loved them when they were little in Az. Once you get to the parking lot there are flush toilet bathrooms. The bathroom has a stainless steel counter which can be used to change a diaper if needed. The park was very clean, the splash pad was on and a few kids were playing with their parents close by. They have a Large playground structure and two sets of swings sets. One for babies and one for older kids. Next to the splash pad is a large covered picnic table area with large and small tables. If your planning on cooking up some hotdogs or hamburgers there are a few grills available too. Would you like to throw frisbees or play alittle soccer or kickball with your kids or other adults. There are several large playing fields surrounding the park. And grass areas round the playground to put out a blanket and watch your kids play. The park was amazing. My granddaughter had a wonderful time. Alittle nervous at first of the water but once she went in with Nana and mommy she was ready to play. She would go from water to playground and back especially when seeing other kids having fun in the water. Several families came after we did so good amount of kids having a blast. She even met a friend that she would run around with during our visit. We will definitely be back to John Kemp Park. We all had a lot of fun and felt safe at this park.

Played a soccer tournament here this weekend and my review might change if the conditions where a little different. This past weekend the weather was not great and with the rain we had it shows some of the poor drainage of these fields and or upkeep. We have played over the years on tons of artificial turf fields and not had the enormous puddles and what I would almost consider small lakes. This really altered the outcome I am most positive of a lot of games. The main key is the ball was literally like kicking around a medicine ball. The ball had no rolling velocity because it would get stuck in the huge puddles of water. Then trying to kick it out was equally has difficult. However I did give them some extra stars because even though there were a ton of people here they have plenty of parking Huge bonus for us is they also kept the bathrooms well equipped with toilet paper and pretty fairly clean. With the given weather this was a nice touch. Also this park is very centrally located in Folsom with plenty of options for coffee, lunch, dinner and the oops I forgot my shin guards at home.

We always have a great time at this park. The splash pad is small but fun. Having so much shade and seating is a MUST and so this one is good for moms. I like that kids that go back and forth between the playground and splash pad. The bathrooms are close, which is nice.

Great park, I would say it has everything what you need in a park. Two soccer fields, two baseball fields, volleyball court, play area for children such as slides and swings, a water play area, a snack bar, benches around the soccer fields and baseball fields, lots of trash bins, lots of parking space, a shade area with fixed benches and tables, two compartment sink in the shade area which not many parks have, most importantly four restrooms close to the shade/play area. This park gets crowded specially on weekends. I see some families leave their trash behind and they forget that this is the city they live in which means they are trashing their hometown.

When I was there there was 2 different softball games going on, 2 soccer games,a & the water feature was in full blast with kids getting cool. The playstructure is huge & well thought out. My family and I came here recently for a kid's birthday party. The actual playground is on the smaller side, no enclosure, and a lot of little trees that do not provide shade. The good news is it doesn't appear to be so busy, there is a soccer field, there's accessible restrooms very close, a picnic area with a sink, tables, and benches, and full shade coverage. Because the park is smaller, you can keep you're eye on your kids pretty easily. My kids run bored of this playground after a short amount of time, but why they liked it and want to return at times is due to the fact that there is a nearby pond. In the pond there are usually ducks, tadpoles, etc... my kids love to touch and play around with the nature stuff. It can get messy fair warning and if a child finds a container to use, you may be asked to bring home a dozen tadpoles that they can easily scoop up. Overall the park is average, but a good switch up from other parks. I would suggest it if you're in the area.

Another one of my places to walk my small critter. Here I have to keep a close lookout for a pair of red tail hawks. Twice they have tried taking my dog. Near the handicap parking are the pavilion, water feature and gym set. Two ball parks and two artificial Soccer fields and a valley ball area. Areas have lighting and used by many families and teams. Three smaller areas are great for catch, fresbie those or just having fun. The west side is surrounded by a wetlands area with a power station nearby. Ample parking with areas for street parking. Also one of my favorite features is the park is close to shopping.Love to see families and groups using the facilities.
