The best papaya salad in Sacramento.
The food tasted like last weeks leftovers. The banana pudding was also rotten.
Super disappointed in this place eggrolls, bought eggrolls it turned out to be so little with and all wrap no filling.
Mushy Cabbage, Flavorless Mac n Cheese, Brick corn bread, mushy red snapper made w/old grease.
Yum

I've been coming here for years, the new owners have completely failed at soul food. The mac & cheese is made with nacho cheese that's not soul food mac & cheese, no seasoning, vinegar, or sugar just bits of bacon in the Collard greens. The catfish nuggets were ok nothing much to say just average catfish nuggets, it could have used some seasoning like garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. For tartar sauce, they hand you packets wasn't homemade or original. There are no desserts like peach cobbler or banana pudding. The customer service was good however the entire store needs a deep clean.... Very disgusting and dirty. I would NOT recommend this place...it's a BIG NO NO for me!

I loved the ribs and Mac the turkey wing is A1 as well. Tucked away in dph this place has been around for years. Fast service and offers Apple Pay. It's also a convenience store. Looks are deceiving when pulling up. So just come for the great taste !!

I would commute from South Sac to the North for my job at the time. I used to work 10 min near this place and was craving Hmong food for lunch. I googled where to get some Hmong food and saw Jimmy's. I went to get some lunch and I grabbed a Hmong sausage plate and I was obsessed with it. Obsessed to the point that I would get it for lunch and even after work, I would stop by to get another place. After quitting the job, I would still make the drive to the North just for the Hmong sausage. My husband being Mexican, he loves Hmong sausage too and even he liked it very much. I wouldn't make the drive every time but when I am in the area or passing through, I would get a plate. I have yet to try their other Hmong items but I'm stuck on the sausage.

Not the cleanest-looking spot, but the food is good. It's in the hood so you will experience hood stuff. The oxtails, catfish, and chicken are good. Can't speak on the Hmong cuisine. I wish it was just a restaurant and not a run-down store. The hours also aren't good because it closes early and isn't open on certain days.

Food always good. I recommend the Turkey wing plate. Yams and Greens are always on point. Price is cheapest for soul food around Sacramento also.

Ok - so i have been to Jimmy's many times, more in the 80's then recent, but it's Jimmy's, right?Things can't be that different, can they? YES, they can! It is now ran by Hmong folks and I never knew they cooked soul food, but in DPH (Del Paso Heights) they do! Here is the lowdown:You order at the front counter, but you have to first go to the back and figure out what you want.Menu: Meats:Fried chicken- looked like yesterday's Smothered chicken - looked light skinned and under cooked Smothered Ox Tails - in a reddish sauce?Turkey legs/Wings - looked very good and almost done- needed to cook longerMeat Loaf (individuals) - looked great!!Fried Fish (fried fresh to order)- wasn't on ice, but was in a cooler?Spaghetti - looked very good- chunky with meat and bell peppers etcChitlins- well, just plain nasty to meSides: Greens- look goodBeans- Red, black-eyed, pinto , green Dressing- not done at all, soupyCabbage- goodMac n cheese- looked goodRice- can't mess that upThe place is a neighborhood market and they are in the back.It is in the MIDST of the heights, so yeah- nuff said.I checked in and left because the food just did not LOOKED cooked a bit longer.just didn't want to be sick tonight! Oh yeah- they used to have the bomb breakfast sandwiches so I will go back and try again...one day!
