Java City

I was craving coffee during my shift and decided to try this coffee shop right in the middle of Sac State's campus, Java City. The location is a little inconvenient for parking/ handicap, as there aren't garages or spots directly at the location. However, it's a beautiful campus so it's a great excuse to take a stroll if you can.The baristas were super friendly and made conversation with my coworkers and I. Since it's the summer off season, foot traffic is slow on campus. There wasn't a line when we arrived. They have a variety of coffees, teas, and smoothies. They also have several syrups, sweeteners, and milk substitutes. I ordered an iced vanilla latte with oat milk. It was really good! One of the tastier lattes that I have found on campus. Definitely recommend if your on campus!

Decided to stop in here for a an iced cold brew coffee and was sadly disappointed. The brew tastes burned and watered down. Gross. I told the staff and they replaced it with a white mocha which was better. However, I would know how the roast tastes since it's covered up with sugar. The people are nice but I probably won't got back unless it's for a pastry. The pastries look amazing.

I have one word: BROWNIES!!!Went to help move my daughter out for the summer and she took me here specifically to try the brownies. They were soooooo good! I didn't get to taste anything else but I hope they never change that brownie recipe. So moist and flavorful, not loaded with too much sugar.No room inside to eat but cute outside patio beneath a canopy of shade trees that only Sac State can offer! It looked closed from the outside, but it was very much open.

Java city is cool! I always refill my bottle of water here. They make a good caramel macchiato! They remodeled the place so it looks soooo much nicer then it used to! It's a really cute spot and has outdoor seating which is nice for when the weather is good! They also serve pastries and little bites to eat!

This cute little coffee spot is the perfect decompressor for the dedicated student. Nestled next to Lassen Hall and the big lawn on the CSU Sacramento campus, Java City offers delicious treats, sweets, coffees and teas to keep the college student or campus visitor happy and energized. They love holiday themes, so right now it is decked out with homely Thanksgiving and autumn decor.There are several tables and benches with umbrellas outside for seating, besides the lawn to throw out a blanket on and take a nap. Inside the shop is just enough room for the lines for coffee, so no indoor tables. Free campus WiFi is accessible, but the coffee shop has no traceable public WiFi of its own.I've ordered a regular black coffee with cream and sugar and a hot chai latte. Both were delicious and I would readily order either again in a heartbeat. This December I can guarantee you that I'll be ordering. Some more holiday-themed lattes and hot chocolate. Don't go here for coffee. I have never had such bad coffee in my life. I ordered a white mocha. It came out to be around 5 bucks. It tasted like sugar water. I came right back and asked them to do it again. They did. But it still tastes like sugar water. There's no coffee in it. How do I know there's no coffee? The cup is white as hell, no color in it. I then had to buy an extra shot of coffee to add on. Let me tell you it didn't fix it. The problem now is with the recipe. I've never been to any coffee joint where white mocha tastes this badly. I just can't believe it. On top of that the attitude I was given by the staff. Nasty!! Exactly like the drink. I will never come back to this spot. You want good coffee, go somewhere else. The coffee they use is cheap. Ive an avid coffee drinker for many years. I know good coffee when I taste it.

This is the next best thing to Starbucks. If you are a sac state student or ever been on campus this is a nice spot right by the library. There is always a line there...especially in the morning. Sometime you might get lucky. I ordered a medium white mocha latte with no whip cream. It was a little bit sweet, but it gave me my caffeine intake. They also have a great selection of pastries like muffin and bagels.

Great coffee, beats Starbucs hands down. Great variety to choose from. And beats Starbucs lines. Was hesitant to write this so the lines here don't get long lol

I LOVE Java city, best coffee on campus! The cinnamon spice latte is comfort in a cup.BUUUT I wish they would stay open longer :( Please extend hours!!

Iced white mocha is delicious and the staff is so nice ! This place is not talked about enough ! BEST COFFEE ON CAMPUS !
