I was in Roseville for a basketball tournament and I have been wanting to try sushi at this establishment. Ambiance It is located in a strip mall, it is dated. It has a sushi carousel turning however there was no food on it. This place has been here for a long time.Customer ServiceIt was excellent waiter shared some of the popular favorites. I haven't been to this restaurant in awhile, but we came here for dinner because the restaurant we were originally planning to go to was super packed. This was not packed at all when we got here. We were seated and our order taken right away. Food came out just as fast. Service was good, food was delicious and portion size was huge. We will definitely be visiting this place more frequently.

My wife and I have been here a few times before this evening we opted to take out and bring home tonight. The sushi was extremely lackluster. It was literally thrown into the to go box. The sushi itself was not better than the sushi that I've gotten previously from Safeway. bland not really any flavor mostly rice very little fish. so tonight, unfortunately was a waste of our time and money, not palatable at all. We had about three bites from the role and ended up tossing the rest in the trash. Seems like the shift at the end of the day and week, could care less about customer experience.

I had a GrubHub credit from work and was in the mood for sushi. There aren't a ton of places on GrubHub in the area and Izumi showed up with reasonable reviews so I thought I would give them a shot. Before I ordered they estimated it would be ready in 10-20 minutes but immediately after ordering I received a text that it would be 20-30 minutes. No problem. I figured I would wait 10 minutes to leave since it's just over 10 minutes away. As I jumped in my car, 10 minutes after ordering, I received a text saying my food was ready. Ugh. When I got there (Sunday around 5:30pm) there was only one seated table which wasn't super confidence inspiring. I got home and my order was accurate (Godzilla roll, Philadelphia roll, and some Avo-kyu rolls). Interesting there was also a butterflied cooked shrimp and a pile of imitation crab. Interesting but no complaints about extra proteins. The rolls are very large, something we read in their reviews. I started eating the Philadelphia roll first and found it very bland. I think it was some combo of the rice being totally unflavored and the salmon maybe not being super fresh. Hoping for more excitement on my palette, I moved to my Godzilla roll that had a couple sauces on it. Sadly, the bland theme continued. I wonder if part of the problem is they make very large rolls which means more rice and since the rice is bland the roll becomes bland? I also don't think the fish was as fresh as it could/should be but with only one seated table I suppose they're not flying through their fish supply. Anyhow, it was edible but there are so many sushi options in the area (and even at a similar price) that I don't have a reason to go back. Would I recommend trying it? Probably not. Sorry, Izumi.

We were near the mall and wanted to try a different Sushi restaurant than our normal place. We found Izumi Sushi close by with easy parking. They have a small footprint but make good use of their space with bar and table options.We ate a bunch of dishes from Izumi's happy hour which had great pricing for each plate.Everything tasted standard with nothing sticking out. Service was quick and the waiter was friendly. Our tea never ran dry.Room for improvement:* Create unique dishes* Use Sushi grade rice* Use a lighter healthier frying oil* Serve tea in non-plastic cups* Slice sushi rolls a little bit thinner (5 mm)* Acquire high quality sushi that melts in your mouth
