I dream about this pizza and hope to visit again soon. This is such a tasty stone oven baked pizza. The ingredients are fresh and the salads are fresh too. This is a 10-12 table restaurant. I hope to visit soon! Clean place and fast food.

We're back baby! Original owner throwing wood in the oven. 100%Bomb. The pear gorgonzola did not disappoint. Detroit style pepperoni and hot honey was a hit. Dessert white chocolate raspberry cake was excellent.

Sorry didn't take a picture, but pizza was great. Legit wood oven. I had the pepperoni with hot honey and pineapple but as a regular thin crust and it was really tasty. I also had the Margherita but I think I still like the hot honey one more. Next time I think I'll try the tiramisu dessert too! Worth a visit if you haven't been.

I love all styles of pizza, but the Neapolitan is my favorite. So Il Pizzaiolo are my two favorite stores in the greater Sacramento area. Excellent ingredients, wood fired ovens, and craftsmanship...i love this pizza, it's very close to perfection. When i read the reviews on yelp i can see those who get it and those who don't. When you talk to Peter about his families passion for this craft it's no surprise that the pizza that comes out of these ovens tastes like pure love....pretty good meatballs as well ( Hey Peter..please start baking bread again)

Cozy, clean, comfortable interior. Non-intrusive music on the sound system. Tasteful decor. Prompt, friendly service. There is an excellent assortment of creative pizzas. Our pizza was a daily special gorgonzala, bacon, pear, pizza with piles of arugula on top. It was served quickly and was delicious. Every pizza we saw coming to the tables looked mouth-watering good! All of the customers were apparently relishing their meals.

I had their white detroit pan pizza (prosciutto, arugula & balsamic) as part of a to-go order--exceptional crust, generous toppings and quality ingredients. Their tiramisu was LEGIT, with that signature, gentle booziness that it ought to have. I would absolutely eat here again if I was in the area, and I can only imagine their other style of pizzas are just as top-notch! Online ordering and fast, efficient pickup when we arrived--I didn't run inside, but was told their customer service was friendly & that they took the time to review the order to ensure everything was perfect, which is always a plus. The restaurant looked full, well-lit and folks inside looked like they were enjoying themselves. While I might normally give a place like this a 4 star rating, I feel like it's a bit of a hidden gem and really stood out (especially when compared to the nearby competition; we noticed a lot of pizza joints in the surrounding area). This is the sort of place I wish was in my local area, and I think that says it all.

On our our way back from Soda Springs, and on a sunny winter day, we stopped at Il Pizzaiolo in Colfax, hoping for a slice to keep us going 'til we got home in Sac. Instead of mere sustenance, we got one of the very best wood-fired pizzas we'd ever had. The pear-gorgonzola was perfectly balanced (in the Italian sense of exceptional ingredients, and a light but not miserly hand with the pear, gorgonzola, mozzarella, bacon and arugula). And it sat on one of the best executed Neapolitan crusts anywhere. On top of it, we had our dog with us, and the host/server graciously set us up out front, with a full bowl of water for our pup. Absolutely worth a stop on your way to or from Tahoe.

I got the pizza to go so maybe that was my issue but I simply wasn't impressed. I don't consider round table pizza to be good pizza but we should have gotten round table pizza. The employees were nice.
