I always order to go... The braised beef noodle soup :chef's kiss: Sometimes I will order it with extra noodles so the kiddo can have some too. It's yummy and perfect for a winter evening.

I wanted to enjoy this place so badly - they have AMAZING food options including a traditional beef noodle soup, dumplings -- it's fully authentic and delicious! However, the service was also authentically hole in the wall in that the waiter was unhelpful and cold. Highly recommend this meal as takeout.

Came here on a Saturday after I got done with the cruise. It was past 2pm and they were almost closing. The shrimp and pork dim sum and the fried rice were good. No issue with service. Ambiance - spacious and well lit. It was not dirty. It was not crowded as they were about to close so I was able to enjoy a quiet meal. I thought the price was reasonable for the portions. Have to go down steps/stairs as the restaurant is located below ground level. I would give this restaurant 3.5 stars, but since this is not possible, I am rounding up to 4 stars as I did not experience any issue.

I've been to this restaurant many times, and every time I have guests in town I take them here. Honestly the food is really delicious, they have quite a variety of options and all of which have been very tasty. Honestly I think this place is an underrated gem in the midtown/west sac area, which in my opinion, is lacking quality Chinese food. Don't let the little random entrance and it being in a basement sway you! I've had the pan fried pork buns, the soup dumplings, the osmanthus lotus root (which is my FAVORITE), scallion noodles, scallion pancakes, short ribs, etc and loved EVERYTHING. The service is also very efficient and you get your food quickly. Everyone should eat here!

Great Shanghainese food in Old Sac. I've been here multiple times, and every time have really enjoyed the pan fried pork Xiao long baos. This folks, is where it's at! The XLBs have a nice crispy bottom and really tasty soup and ground pork on the inside. The sauce saturates the inside of the bao. It is so delicious! The noodles taste freshly made and the soup it comes with is light. I enjoyed the noodles and broth, but would probably try a different protein next time. The tofu was on a bit of the sweet side. The pork was crispy but on the chewy side.Overall, the Pan friend XLBs are excellent. While this visit had some other dishes that didn't hit as well, I've certainly enjoyed many dishes here over time. Park in the Front St parking structure if you want parking validated. Other parking structures can't be validated.

I Shanghai Delight in Old Town Sacramento is a hidden gem. While the ambiance might be a bit underwhelming, these types of places often have the best food, and I was right again! The food here is amazing - from the sweet and sour spare ribs, shrimp and pork steamed dumplings, pan-fried soup dumplings, green beans, lotus root, to scallion oil noodles. Everything was authentic and bursting with flavor. The service was quick, and it wasn't too busy, making for a pleasant dining experience. I will definitely be coming back asap as possible!

I love the XLB from this establishment. It is freshly made after ordering so there is a bit of a wait. The soup is really flavorful and the meat is tender and perfectly seasoned. This is definitely one of the best XLBs in the Sacramento area. Another must order item is the sweet osmanthu scented glutinous rice cakes. The combination of the mildly sweet, soft, and chewy textures completely satisfies my tastebuds. This is also freshly prepared. The sliced bean curd was just okay. It lacked flavor. I will not order this in the future.

When I first walked into this restaurant, I was confused if I went into the right place. After walking down the stairs, my friends and I were greeted by a waiter and were taken into the restaurant to get seated. The restaurant was pretty empty and appeared clean despite the rugged entrance. (I apologize, I forgot to take pictures of the food and restaurant this time!)Service (7/10):- I wouldn't say the service was horrible, but I think it could have been better. - FYI: There was no bathroom that I was able to use so you might have to go to another store nearby.- My friend used the "hand sanitizer" on the table, but turned out it was hand soap haha- The server was kind and got our order down correctly. Food (9/10):- Chopped Cucumber in Garlic Sauce: The cucumber was a little salty, but it was still okay to eat.- Pork Dumpling: The skin was thin and there was a good amount of juice and meat for the size of it.- Potstickers: I'm not the biggest fan of potstickers so eating these seemed average to me. They were about the same size and taste as typical potstickers. - Spicy Beef Noodle Soup: This was the best item that we got. It was a Sichuan flavored beef noodle soup and it was delicious! It had the right amount of spice that left your mouth numb! (I'm not sure if this is the right dish because when I went to the Fremont location, they gave me a different spicy noodle soup.)Overall, I would come back to get the noodle soup and dumplings again!
