Met dear friends Jim & Tracy for breakfast, coffee was good, eggs Benedict was fantastic. Service was friendly, quick and attentive - lots of refills on coffee. I ordered the EB with the included option of hash browns. Those were also perfectly cooked to a golden color. I don't know what it is about this place, but everyone appeared happy. Staff and patrons alike were making eye contact and smiling. Apologies - was so hungry I ate before taking a pic.

Eaten breakfast there a few times. Really good food. Love the nice crunchy potatoes. Portions are good, always bring half home for the next day. Service is great too ! Everyone really pleasant. My complaint is, FOX "news" is always playing on the TV. If you're going to have the TV on, please put on local news.

Food is great. Service always has a cute smile and the ladies pay attention to every one. Ambience is that of a very busy, local favorite for 6 generations!!

Only thing I know is they renovated the property in the early 2010's. The other thing I know is they were around as a local diner for at least 60 years. They have tables and dining facilities on the 2nd floor. Food is your local diner does well. They make their own hollandaise sauce for their Eggs Benedict. Waffle and pancake batter home made. Free coffee refills and you would need to ask for water as water is brought to you on request. Service is your local diner does well. While I'm sure each server has their own area, I noticed they all work together by pitching in to their co servers area. Price point keeping up with inflation; that's all I can say.If you're in the Grass Valley area and looking for a meal, albeit breakfast, lunch or dinner, and you want a diner atmosphere, go here. Humpty Dumpty Kitchen certainly stood the test of time

I seem to not be able to try anything else since I have tried this.... I just know this is good and I only get down here every so often so I stick with what I know.. .. which ever time I do come down to Grass Valley I do eat here.. they always have a line at the door but the line goes quick. The service is always good and the girls are always filling your cups. The place does have two stories and is very open, this makes it to where it doesn't get real loud and noisy with all the people... you can have a conversation without yelling.

Excellent American comfort food. Huge two storey dining room. Very good service. My breakfast was so good that I could have eaten two portions. If you want excellent food at a reasonable price with great service, this is the place!

Today (dec 19th) my friend and i decided to go out for bteakfast on a cold and rainy day.Humpty Dumpty is the locals favorite for a big bteakfast! It is located on Main street in Grass Valley.Today i shared the humpty dumpty special.2 eggs scrambled with 3 strips of bacon with hash browns AND 2 pancakes! Such big portions! Love the crispy bacon!My friend got the meatlovers special (technically not on the menu). Full of sausage and bacon and ham. Huge! Also got a side of biscuits and gravy to go.They are always busy but they get the order out quickly! They also have a drive thru and counter seating.If you have friends coming in for the holiday then this is a great place for groups!The staff is friendly and the coffee is flowing! They also have a lunch menu ( see my previous review).Always see my receipts so you know how much everything is! Great casual place with consistently good food!

We arrived at 11:30am on Sunday and was seated right away. Friendly and prompt service. Inside reminds me of clean old fashion dinner. We had Crab Benedict special perfectly prepared (yolk consistency) and delicious. Corned Beef Hash was a little burnt but I ate the non burnt side leaving half of the hash. I would come back and try something different.

Great local restaurant! The service was quick and friendly. The place was clean and comfortable. I ordered an ordinary cheeseburger with fries and it was delicious! I would recommend this place if you are ever in Grass Valley, California.
