Disorganized, email after email not responded to. (which wouldn't be necessary if there was good communication.) Rarely answers phone. Website links broken. Poor communication to coaches and parents. I'm only giving 2 stars because the poor coach has stuck with the team even though the management has been non-existent. I'll be finding another league next time.

We have been playing here for 6 years and have been over all happy enough to come back. It's organized and it's the largest rec basketball league in our area, which is nice because it's easy to play with friends. With that being said this place has one terrible flaw, the owners dad is one of the main used referees and he is awful. Every game we have ever played with him has been confusing, dramatic and zero fun. The last two years he's gotten even meaner, and frankly even senile. He makes up rules, screams at kids for asking simple questions, and just makes the entire thing miserable. I think after this season I can't justify coming back here simply because I don't want him around my kids ever again. I know it's hard to get refs but is it THAT hard. Please watch your dad ref a game and see for yourself.

I really like that this league has 4 seasons per year so the kids can play all year round if they like! My sons have played 3 different seasons over the past 2 years and we have had a blast. I will say the communication from the league really needs some drastic improvement. The phone is never answered and you will have to leave multiple messages and or emails to get a response. Everyone I have met seems very nice and we have made lots of friends but for the amount of money I have paid for what seems to be a premier league...Its very discouraging. The coaches are volunteers which is great, but they do not have to go through and background/drug/criminal check....that's a bit scary.

I really like Hotshots. It's a great recreational basketball league for the kids. I give it 3 stars only because the owner coaches several teams and actually has the nerve to talk to the refs, A LOT, during the games to get them to sway their calls. He is the one paying them so it just rubs a lot of people wrong! If I were the owner of this league I would keep coaching (because he is a good coach) but I would sit my butt on the bench and cheer my team on. It just feels wrong when he starts running his mouth with the refs. Other than that I like the league a lot and would otherwise give it 5 stars. It is a well run league, goes all year, the facilities are nice and my kids have always enjoyed it.

1 star is about 3 too many. It's super disorganized, no communication from coach. The coach was a high school kid that only cared about the kids that were already good players. The first practice was the day before the game and all they did was shoot layups and start a scrimmage. Coach didn't care that at least 2 of the kids were standing around not sure what to do and not playing. Tried to swap to a class instead of a league because my son had never played before and the manager said this was the most basic team and there were 2 kids with less experience and they don't allow people to swap. From before the season start, the Manager Kept saying she would be flexible, then asking the owner, and ultimately not being allowed to do anything. We ended up not finishing the season and we were out the the high cost of registration and uniforms. City of Rocklin, Lincoln, and roseville all have good programs with quality coaching, and a reasonable price. Don't waste your money here. You will likely regret it.

Absolutely rigged basketball. The manager is a moron I signed my girls up for 3/4 basketball to try a new sport. I guess there were other parents who thought this was a great idea. Well turns out we thought this was a fair honest business that fostered physical fitness, fairness and the positive influence of team sportsWhat we didn't know is that there 5 th graders in the two other teams and that these two teams have been together for several years and had average and advanced players. Our team had average and novice players. We watched week after week of our daughter's be slaughtered with scores like 23 to 0. We never one a game. I thought this clearly was a mistake and a last minute mistake. When I talked with the manager- I do not know her name there was no name tag. She said well we do skill checks so if there openings in the two high functioning teams they can go there. This is so unsupportive of the dad that stepped up to coach our girls. I asked her how will she make the teams for the fall even. She said she can't take the kids who have been playing away from their coach. I couldn't believe it. She had no desire to make the teams even. This is unbelievable

Covid-19 occurs, Hotshots would not cancel the Spring league but instead extended it later in the season. It's May and they finally decide to cancel the season due to shelter in place so really they have no choice however they sent an email saying a credit will be moved to a summer camp or fall. The email said to confirm where the credit should be applied. No mention of a refund. I emailed them 2X and left a voicemail and no response. I had to dispute the charge on my credit card. This organization is money hungry and will not communicate with you. They are terribly run. Every other company gives a refund due to Covid-19. Not this company. Don't sign up with them. Find a better run basketball organization. Zero stars.

Zero stars. This league doesn't offer real basketball. Coach's can't sub players until the final period. And they play periods instead of quarters. They have one ref that's HORRIBLE. Doesn't call fouls and T's up the volunteer coaches when they try to call him out on it, after kids are getting hurt and still no fouls called. His ego is so big that he wouldn't finish ref'ing a game, disappointing two teams of children. If I'm paying over $160 for this league, then the league should put the kids above the egos of their refs and let the kids play! One ref wanted to let the kids continue, the egotistical one packed up his stuff and left. Disgraceful. We will never play this league again.

This was the most unorganized sports program ever... Got an email saying that they will start practicing on the same day I received the email. First practicing session on the same week they are supposed to play. I had put down on the application that my son had never played before and they put him on a team with skillful youth. No basic training whatsoever. No explanation of the rules. It was awful and we tried to get a refund but they said no. We wanted like a store credit for their training camp but they said no. I do not recommend this to any children without experience. I can see how experienced children would really enjoy this but go through the city programs if your children are beginners and don't bother with this for profit, unorganized program.
