First time ever at the Hornet Stadium last Saturday for the homecoming game! I was very impressed with this stadium. They had the home side and of course visitors. It was all open seating. The band sits to the far right. So many food trucks and food choices in the stadium! Coming from Iowa we didn't have this at my university.. so I just thought the idea/concept and even how they did it was so cool! They even had a Starbucks food truck... never in my life have I seen that! 10000000 percent so cool! Anyways, beautiful stadium!

Finding parking is fairly easy. Though the stadium is pretty cool, the seats are not. All of them are steel, so bring a blanket to keep you warm. There will be food trucks during games, so that's good. There honestly aren't too many restrooms. It gets pretty bad, honestly. If you're a sac state student go to the games! If you've never been to hornet stadium, maybe go for the experience. If you're visiting sacramento, this probably wouldn't be in my itinerary.

Easy to find, easy to park, great signage. I was here for the 2019 SYF Shrine Bowl. It was a BUSY day. There seemed to be plenty of parking for the event. Once we walked in the bathrooms were easily accessible. We were on the visiting side which did have a long walk around the far side of the field so not ideal. I'm not sure if it was just for that event to guide traffic in a desired way toward the food trucks on hand but it was at least a good way to get my steps in! I can see how it would be a long walk if Grandma was coming to a football game here. The announcer was easy to hear from all over the stadium which is AWESOME!

Get your stingers ready for the Hornets!!!2nd time here for a family work event, which included tailgating before game and watching attending the game afterwards. They have a big following for the Hornets, get there right before the game begins for seats, otherwise they fill up fast. They have quite a bit of tents for business set up, doing give aways, selling the sac bee for a discount and get some hornet gear, free swag from local stores. They had the food trucks lined up, had a good amount here from bbq, Greek food, jamaican, starbucks truck, yup a starbucks mobile vehicle, dessert trucks too. Prices were lower than normal events I have been to, so that was cool gotta save the college students some money right!!!The bleachers are the standard butt hurt kind, so remember to bring something to sit on for comfort and if you accidentally drop stuff down there is a few sides that will let you down to the bleacher dungeon, be careful its dark, sticky and whatever else you can think of, so dont drop anything and you will be fine.

The stadium is adequate. There leaves a lot that could be improved upon though. But considering the lightly supported program, it's understandable more money hasn't been available to create a more permanent grand stand, real seating, and permanent restrooms. The venue is a bit sad when you think about it. Nevertheless, I have to shout out to the Cruisin Hive food truck. Awesome! Very reasonable prices and good, quality food. Actually grilled and hot large hot dog on a toasted fresh, appropriately sized bun. Served with fresh, hot, crispy French fries. Just $6. Unfortunately, that was the only highlight of the evening tonight. Pathetic performance from the home team tonight. Sad ending to what had been a good regular season.

All the stadium corridors are nice. However we only visit and play on the Soccer field. Have gone to 2 different camps here. One with the mens team in the Spring and this Summer with the girls. Has been great for our aspiring college soccer player. :)...parking sucks though.GO HORNETS!

The stadium is pretty big with plenty of parking located around a large portion of the perimeter. The parking structure is about 6 floors so parking is reasonable easy and the Hornet stadium is assessable from the structure. The stadium prides itself with having a "brand new state-of-the-art playing surface" and "underwent the most dramatic renovation in Hornet athletic history". It stadium was renovated in 1992 and it's current capacity is about 21,195. The new field turf was installed in June 2010. I had an up close and personal look at the turf after having a dance performance with the UFL dance team and was pretty impressed with the quality of it. UFL recently contracted with Hornet Stadium to host their home games for the Sacramento Mountain Lions (very exciting). The Well Center (a campus recreation and wellness center) sits next to the field is brand new as well. It recently opened in September 2010 and cost the campus $77 million. I was inside the Well Center and was pretty impressed by the modern look and feel of the building. Definitely state of the art! I'm excited for the season and can't wait to perform at Hornet Stadium once again!

No shade over the stands. Zero. It's not like they don't know how hot it gets here. No recycling bins. What statement does that make about the school's priorities? Bathrooms are trailers. No place for team tents within view of the track, so tents are set up on the stands, in the scorching heat. Not healthy for athletes. Can't believe USATF would choose this as the venue for the National Junior Olympics.

Hornet Stadium is improving, but still has a ways to go.Pro's:- The playing surface is brand new and looks sharp. Compared to years past there's a big difference, it's no longer a beat-down grassy field.- The school is very receptive to tailgating. While the fan base is OK, those that go to games regularly also tend to tailgate. I think some people have more fun at the tailgate parties than the game! However I would suggest you plan on tailgating; if you don't you will feel like you missed out.- The stadium surroundings (and fan base) seem to improve every year. - Weather is usually conducive to games in fall- When they play rival UC Davis, the fan atmosphere is incredible. Cons:- Fan base are mostly die-hards. Honestly I don't understand it, because it's always a good time. I go to a couple games a year and when I take a friend, they usually want to come back. - Bleacher seats around the stadium. Makes for bleacher butt, nobody wants that! There are some chairbacks but only in one section.- The "erector set" seating makes for an unappealing stadium. It doesn't give the appearance that anything is permanent. The cheesecloth around the erector set is not fooling anyone.- The bathrooms are temporary trailers that are long overdue for permanent replacement. The stadium gets better very year. If I were King for a day, I'd work on bathrooms, a permanent facade, and more chairbacks, in that order.

Huge facility host to many events, some even nationally known! Great campus security, booths, venues and info when events are ongoing. I would recommend attending pretty much any event here at least once!
