I probably visited at the worst time lol (morning winter rain). Though, to be fair I didn't plan on specifically being here; it just so happened to be also occurring on the day that I was generally visiting Folsom Historic District.Didn't see many vendors buto understandable considering the weather/season. Still, with the space available it seems like this farmers market is organized primarily for those living in the surrounding neighborhoods. Overall it's nice that it's here but I wouldn't make my way here just for it especially as the bigger midtown Sac farmers market is closer from where I live.

I absolutely love going to the Folsom farmer's market to check out small local businesses. From sweet treats to live entertainment, the market has something for everyone! Everyone is super friendly and the event is something that I can enjoy for hours. Definitely love sitting out by the live music after wandering through the vendors' tents to end our day.

What's not to love ?! Lots of fresh organic fruits and veggies, fresh breads , pastry, kefir yogurts, coffee, local artisans , and good vibes. I always enjoy coming out here to get some pastries and coffee and just meandering about . This market is super dog friendly! Some venders will have a dog bowl with water available for pups. This is a medium size farmers market , every Saturday next to old railroad tracks in old town Folsom . On some mornings they have music . Plenty of free parking in parking structure next door. Come on out for a visit :))

To start with the positive, I have purchased many high-quality fruits, vegetables, and artisan foods here over the years. Some of my favorite items that I've found at this market are artisan jams and teas, orange and purple cauliflowers, green beans, heirloom tomatoes, and several varieties of cherries. One of my most-liked Instagram pictures of all time is actually a table-top of heirloom bell peppers found at this market a few summers ago. That being said, our farmer's market is the ONLY Living Smart Farmer's Market that doesn't accept EBT/food stamps.According to their website, they do take EBT, but in reality, they don't, and very rarely have. They did have it set up for a few months a few years ago. Rumor has it that they got in trouble for some sort of violation, but I could only speculate as to what that violation might be.I actually walked down here last Saturday just to make sure that they don't take food stamps before writing a whole review about it. To be fair, the guy who I talked to was nice. When I told him that their website indicates that they accept food stamps, he said, "That explains why so many people keep asking about it. I'll let the owner know."Every other farmer's market in the Sacramento area offers Market Match, which is a program that gives poor people an extra dollar to spend on fruits and vegetables for every dollar they spend at the market. (For those of you who are concerned about tax dollars, that means that your tax dollars actually go further at the farmer's market than they do at the grocery store.)There are lots of great vendors here, and most of them accept food tokens at every farmer's market except for this one.The vendors themselves sometimes like to point out that the other markets take food stamps, but if someone is poor enough to be on food stamps in the first place, then chances are that they might have issues with affording transportation to another market, too. If someone literally doesn't have money to buy gas or a lightrail ticket, then reminding them that the Sunrise and Midtown markets accept EBT doesn't do them any good.

My boyfriend and I decided to stop by their Farmer's Market for the first time and let me tell you, we were not left disappointed! At Ortega Family Farm's booth we purchased their largest bag of Satsumas for $16, since they're our favorite mandarins, fresh from Loomis no less! They were nice and juicy and sweet! At Lindcove Ranch's booth @lindcove_ranch on Instagram we purchased a bottle of their Satsuma Mandarin Juice for $10 and it was tangy, sweet and oh so addicting! We also stopped by Boba and Bites booth @boba.and.bites on Instagram and we split the Spicy Fried Chicken Bao Sandwich, Pork Shumai Dumplings with Chili Oil, Cookie Butter Milk Tea with Boba and the Hot Cocoa with Boba & Whip Cream. I'll review each one below!Spicy Fried Chicken Bao Sandwich~ Damn, this is one of the most incredible sammies I've ever had! My addiction "aka" the Sriracha mayo added a nice little kick, the buttermilk fried chicken was THICK, pickles made that classic southern pairing and the bao was pillowy soft!Pork Shumai Dumplings with Chili Oil~ I don't know how they do it, but their mouthwatering sui mai is goood, and the chili oil was just dripping in goodness..man I want a jar of it! Cookie Butter Milk Tea with Boba~ The flavorful cookie butter is surprisingly not overly sweet and the boba wasn't overly chewy! Hot Cocoa with Boba & Whip Cream~ OMG definitely one of the best hot cocoas I've ever had! The hot cocoa is rich, brown sugar coated boba really soft and the whipped cream is nice and creamy! Order this, especially nice on a chilly Winter morning! I would definitely recommend this local farmer's market and we will definitely be making return visits, we both love Old Historic Folsom and want to visit more of their sweet vendors!

It's a nice farmers market with a good amount of vendors. One of my favorite bakeries, Faria, also has a tent here. While walking around, we also spotted a local celebrity- a pig. The was plenty of parking in the structure (free).

By chance, happened to walk through yesterday morning while vendors were still setting up. I only purchased a dog treat from Pet Wants because doggy kept pulling me in there. Such a cool spot with such a variety of vendors to choose from. All the produce looked so beautiful. Great vibes from such an awesome little town!

SHANKWRX :Went to Historic Folsom Farmers Market and saw a stand that said SHANKWRX. They offer knife/scissors sharpening and they sell amazing knives. Japanese knives/ hunting knives / fish knives and so on.. custom made.. I believe the man behind the small fast growing business is Clinton. Amazing work! Bought a knife from them. And will come again with my Sheff knife to get it sharpened:)
