This is one of those fabulous local businesses that you have to appreciate. The English Colony Way is the heart of the Mandarin Trail... well worth a visit. Plus, the history of the area, and how it came to be, is equally impressive. This is one of my favorite orchards in the area. The bags of Mandarin oranges are always fresh.I came to get gifts for a holiday gift exchange and they have a good variety of product to select. It includes candles, fudge, syrup, cookies, vinegars and much more. They also carry my absolute favorite Mandarin marinated salmon. It is amazing. Last time it was uncooked, and this time smoked. The owner is very personable and helpful and it's just an easy place to come and shop, and, again, it's supporting a local business. One of our agricultural type places we should support to thrive. It's a great place, GO!

Beautiful mandarin farm with an incredibly nice owner. They have delicious Bundt cakes and mandarin-scented candles, one of the best candles I've ever owned. The aroma fills the room with a delightful citrus scent that's both refreshing and calming. The Bundt cakes are moist and flavorful, making them a perfect treat. I can't wait to visit again next year and stock up on more goodies. I just wish the season was longer so I could enjoy this wonderful place more often!

Wife and I stopped by on a weekend around noon. First time visit, driving along the Mandarin Trail. Our original destination was a different orchard, but they were "sold out" so we left, and ended up at Highland Orchard instead. Glad we did, too! They are located in a large warehouse-type building, and they have a good assortment of mandarin goodies for sale. We bought a small bag of mandarins, a package of mandarin cookies, and even some mandarin-marinated smoked salmon! They also had mandarin bread and other treats and stuff to buy.The mandarins are excellent, very sweet and easy to peel. The cookies are SO good too! Haven't tried the smoked salmon yet but we will soon. The gentleman who helped us was friendly and helpful, not sure if he was the grower? VERDICT: A great place to stop by when you are in the area, and even worth a special trip just to pick up some of the delicious goodies they have for sale.

Remember when spending the whole weekend on the couch watching Netflix and ordering takeout was a fun thing instead of the new normal? Well why not get off the couch and go get some fruit! Highland Orchard is one of the bounty crop of mandarin orange growers in Placer County with a nice operation to bring some cheer and Vitamin C to the season. Parking is decent at this farm especially in the back. South Placer around Newcastle is quickly becoming the new Apple Hill with a mixture of wineries, breweries, and farms selling various produce. Mandarins grow well here, and many orchards now sell to the public. Highland has many awards with a nice fruit with a balance of sweet and acid that appeals to many. They also a-peel easily which is fun!The orchard has a large barn with straightforward shopping. You can get several sizes of fresh oranges with a small selection of mandarin products. On my visit, there was also a vendor selling mandarin smoked salmon! They lack any entertainment or art markets, but the simple and enjoyable experience of buying straight from the grower is nice. Highland Orchard is a great reason to venture outside and get some fresh air and oranges. It's a little off the main path requiring a bit of a drive, but it's still close to Roseville and other suburban Sacramento areas.

Stopped here today to buy some mandarins. They were sold in 5 lb bags ($8.) or 10 lb bags ($14.) or boxed to mail.Several baked goods & foods available to purchase.I did notice a little carousel outside for kiddies to ride, but I didn't investigate what activities were available. Just wanted to get my mandarins, see what baked goods were available & be on my way. There are samples available for all food items that they sell here.I must say that these are the best mandarins that I have eaten. They're sweet & the peel practically falls off! Seedless too! I had heard in the past that these mandarins were good & they are! Bought a mandarin bread & is tasty. Glad I made the trip here today.

Was considering checking out the Mountain Mandarin Festival up in Auburn but detoured to Penryn (Horseshoe Bar Road) after seeing a "Mandarins" sign with an arrow. Followed the road and one of the other orchards was closed Saturdays, and somehow ended up at Highland. Outside they also have kiddie carousel ride and kettle corn. Inside you could try free samples of their satsuma mandarins, which, as advertised, are indeed hefty, tree-ripened sweet, so juicy, easy to peel, and seedless. Yum. Buy an extra bag or you'll run out sooner and have to make the drive back up, haha. Grown in Placer County, part of the Mountain Mandarin Association. Went home with several 10-lb bags of satsumas (clementines are later in the season), $14 each. They also had them by the box in various weights, as well as mandarin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, pies, cookies, and more! Cash only but they gave me a Mandarin Club stamp card, for every 12 bags of mandarins, the 13th is free. Neat to be supporting local growers, and fresh picked, great quality produce!

Awesome! Bought a 10 lbs bag of Mandarin's for $13, and then some Mandarin bread, Mandarin Jam and Mandarin Cookies. Just had one of the cookies and they are amazing. Love buying fresh produce and goodies from local farms. If you live in NorCal or are visiting, it is one of the best treasures that most people do not appreciate.

Great mandarin orchard, super friendly and helpful staff. They were open early the day after Thanksgiving, and were really helpful with figuring out how many mandarins we could ship in flat rate USPS boxes. They can also ship for you. This orchard grows sweet owari satsuma mandarins that are easy to peel and eat, and you can try samples of their products. Will be returning!

For several years now, we've bought these for gifts when traveling to visit family at Thanksgiving & Christmas. They're without a doubt the Best Mandarins has n the area. We've tried others, but none are even close. They're best described as eating candy. Whatever they do to give them so much flavor, is unequalled.
