Grumpy’s Burgers & Brew

Burgers and onion rings are wonderful. I have been here twice. I would pass on the burger bowl did not care for. Food has to look good for me. Still new service needs a little work because they are still learning the menu. Ambiance is great. It is very clean.Thank you we will be back again!

I stopped by around 2:45 pm on a weekend since the parking lot didn't seem to be packed. From the looks of it, they're doing a pretty decent business because the parking lot always seems full. I walked up to the counter and a very nice young lady took my order. I ordered a Grumpy Burger with cheese and everything on it, onion rings and a diet cola. I was given one of those light up buzzer things and my order was ready in under 10 minutes. Everything was still hot when I got home.The burger was well seasoned and all the ingredients were fresh. I will say that I didn't care for the Grumpy sauce that came on the burger, but that could be because there was just so much that it was overpowering. The next time I go I'll ask if they can sub with mayo. The onion rings were delicious...nice and crispy with generous portions. Their house made ranch doesn't taste like you'd expect typical ranch dressing to taste, but it wasn't unpleasant. Just different. Also, I love the ice in their ice machine! They have really cool decor, a nice bar to sit at or you can choose a tabletop to enjoy your beverage and a meal. I'm looking forward to trying one of their chicken sandwiches and a milkshake in the future.

We placed a pick up order for a burger and chicken sandwich, both cut in half. They did not notice that half the chicken sandwich was raw after it had been cut. Hope they didn't use that knife to cut other patron's food. Otherwise, onion rings, tots & ranch were good. Burger was decent, but messy. Order was ready for pick up on time.

I was excited to see another burger place open in Auburn. The burger tasted very good and overall was worth the visit.The fries were terrible. Sysco quality, expensive and a small amount. Overall the prices are tough. The order I received was not consistent with the price that I paid. The atmosphere was nice. They did a great job with the Starbucks remodel. Only counter service available and you pickup/ clear your own plates. Not sure why there point of sale asks for a tip. You're not getting service unless you sit at the bar.

What really stood out was the personal touch; the owner was out front, greeting customers and providing wait time updates. This was especially helpful for those on a lunch break, ensuring you know exactly how long you'll be waiting.Located conveniently close to I-80, this place is easy to get to and definitely worth the stop. If you're in Auburn and craving a delicious burger with great beer, this spot should be at the top of your list!

Newly opened burger joint in Auburn working out the kinks in service.12:43 on a Wednesday & the lot was full(shared lot with Black Bear Dinner)20 wait was stated when we placed our order, no prob.Ordered Grumpy cheese burger, Grumpy burger,tots, onion rings & a chocolate custard shake.Sat outside,heat lamps @ the long community bar.All the outdoor tables were full.Inside fireplace tables were also pretty full.Seating at the bar as well.All the food was delicious, however it took about an hour from ordering to be notified by the ready Buzzer for pickup.Smash burgers were thin, crunchy on the edges, grilled onions, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles.Tots were hot & crunchy with a dill ranch dip similar to tartar sauce, excellent.Onion rings were lukewarm but plenty of crunch.Four or five TVs inside running sports reruns.Numerous local craft beer on tap,but they were outta four of them. Wine also available.I'm hoping they will work out the hiccups,get the crew in sync & remain successful.Most likely will return.

FINALLY! A new great place for us out- of-towners to stop on way to or home from Tahoe! Perfect location. Located in the former Starbucks building right off of I-80. We were all soooo soooo hungry so the location and ease of ordering was great! For reference we had a party of six~ wait time was average with our drinks (local craft beer, cider, wine) being available immediately. The ambiance is fantastic with both indoor and heated patio seating. Super clean (which I am VERY picky about.) Really cool inside bar with front end of a Chevy truck as decoration ~ that adds to the cool laid back vibe of the restaurant. Three ordered: Grumpy Burger w/cheese~ excellent! Hot, juicy, and sauce was great! Three ordered: Double Grumpy Burger W/cheese.Arrived hot, perfectly toasted bun and excellent sauce. Six orders of Tater Tots~ Arrived hot and crispy.The owner (we think he was the owner) was there and was very friendly and asked us how we liked the food and if we needed anything...great to see him and the staff interacting positively with eachother and customers like they really enjoy working there ~ added to the overall warm friendly atmosphere. This does not typically stand out for me but important to mention as it was noticed by our whole group. My only suggestion is they need to separately sell that secret Grumpy's sauce! So good! And we would have bought a hat if they had any in left in stock! Highly recommend for high-end burger. Excited that this is now a perfect option for us traveling up the hill!

Grumpy's Burgers & Brew is a great spot to swing by when you're on your way down from Tahoe. First, the location is perfect: it's right off the 80 on your way home from skiing. The food was spectacular. I ordered the Grumpy Burger with Cheese and a chocolate custard shake, and I highly recommend them. The food was quick, and the service was excellent, friendly, and kind.The interior is very welcoming, with a vintage decorated interior and excellent heated exterior seating. This will become a regular spot for us ski bums looking for a quick stop between the Sac area and Tahoe. I can't wait to try what else Grumpys has to offer!

This place wasn't up to my expectations.I gave it a four because a nice gal from the kitchen brought me out my food, so I didn't have to go up and get my food when my hand buzzer went off.I liked the hamburger, but was not happy with my onion rings. They need to have a thicker and crunchier batter.Also, I did not like the ranch dressing at all. It was way too thin; and didn't really taste like Ranch.The restaurant was cold inside even sitting next to the small fireplace. Also, the ketchup wasn't next to the mustard and you had to go look for it in another area.I probably won't go back, unless they make some improvements.Thank you for listening.

Went in for the 3 rd time got the Grumpy Burger with bacon ,onion Rings and a ber and chocolate shake and a beer split with wife gets better every time
