Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Davis

I had just moved to the area, I went into Gracie for the first time as a trail and not only the class was extremely fun and exciting and a great workout but Evon touched my heart. He reminded me of my dad and he is such a positive guy with a good heart trying to spread the love. It makes me emotional almost, he is the kind of guy I want to work with. The classes itself is phenomenal I did 2 classes jiujitsu and kickboxing back to back and burned 800 calories. (I tracked it) he is a great guy really and the way he teaches makes you feel like you're not alone.

The ultimate place to train in Davis. Evon and the instructors here are literally the friendliest and coolest guys I know. Their knowledge about Jiu Jutsu and passion for teaching is unrivaled in Davis. I trained with Evon and his style is patient, detailed oriented, and friendly. You can rest assured he will go above and beyond for his students.However, the training doesn't stop with grappling! Evon is one of the best boxing/kickboxing trainers I have trained with. He actually has you train combinations that are effective in sparring or a match, rather than just play glorified patty cake :)The facility is also brand new, clean, and spacious. They clean the mats after each practice and you can tell that a lot went in to decorating the place. My wife takes my daughter here for their Junior Grapplers class and my kid absolutely loves it. While I don't attend myself, my wife shows me videos of my daughter and Coach Evon. Coach is amazing. His passion and patience are easily seen on each video. He will even walk my 4 year old son through things, and trust me, teaching my son anything requires next level patience. My daughter is picking up things quite well to my surprise, but that is absolutely a testament to Coach Evon's teaching. Highly recommend Coach Evon and his gym. Keep up the wonderful work Coach, you're doing great.

Gracie Jiu Jitsu Davis and Evon Wasko are the place to learn original Gracie Jiu Jitsu. I have been training BJJ since the late 90's and this is the legitimate place to learn Gracie Jiu Jitsu. You learn at a structured pace- and you always know what the lesson plan is. I have been to places where the lessons are sporadic and based on the upcoming tournament. Not so great an environment when you are just starting out. Coach Von is an amazing representative of Gracie Jiujitsu. He has a warm and welcoming attitude and full of positive Samoan energy! A really amazing instructor too as he is patient, and breaks it down that anyone can understand and more importantly replicate on the mat.
