Golden Dragon Restaurant

On our way back from Tahoe, we found this spot on Yelp and decided to give it a try. We ordered the lunch specials, which came with a choice of hot and sour or egg drop soup, and were happy with all our dishes. The service was quick, and the staff were very friendly. The restaurant could use a bit of an update, but that didn't matter, the food was outstanding!

Wow!! What a surprise. Absolutely nailed Pork with Garlic Sauce, Fried Rice and Hot sour soup lunch special $11.80. Is it 1991? Huge menu, serious looking cooks, and damn! This is Family Style Beancurd , Mongolian Beef, Chicken Mei Fun kinda place. Old school, not catering to the Crab Rangoon folk. Or the " fusion" ninnies. I'll go back for Dinner and review that. It's 3 seconds off the 50 and if you are headed to Tahoe stop and get a great meal with the proprietors on site before you pay 3x the price for 1/2 the quality served by a stoned ski bum.

My absolute favorite hot and sour soup! The ingredients are just to my liking. No veggie mix tossed into this one, I really have a disdain towards soups that clearly have the frozen peas and carrots mix thrown in. Good sized cuts of tofu, the mushroom they use is black fungus, overall feels like this stuff was made for me. The orange chicken is also very lovely, something about it stands out against the rest. Chow mein almost tastes like it could be cooked with olive oil, which is actually quite pleasant in my opinion. The crab and cheese turnovers are just like crab rangoons, but they're folded in a way that actually makes them manageable to eat. I'm looking forward to coming back to this place to keep trying more of the menu. So far very good!

I have not been here in years. It is no longer a restaurant that I can recommend. The food was not edible. It was incredibly uncomfortable due to no air conditioning. The server was not pleasant. Overall it was really disappointing. There was a time when this was our go-to Chinese in the area.

Food was ok but the veggie blend on my kung pao chicken tasted of being a little expired. And the color of my bell peppers should have been greener if they weren't almost expired.

Great restaurant authentic Chinese food! Great service people! Very reasonably priced. They have an orange calamari that's not on the menu. I highly recommend as long as you don't buy too much and I don't get any.

General chicken? Nah, this is straight up bread. The chow fun tasted like it was cooked in Dawn soap. Beef was oh so questionable, with a weird color to it. Wonton soup tasted like straight up toilet water. I cope with humor but Jesus Christ. Prawns were mushy and not crispy in any way, shape, or form. The rice was mediocre at best, and my stomach is left growling. 1 star, at best, never eating again. Had to add seasoning to every dish to make it edible. I am not happy and neither is my stomach. Farewell, and hope to never be presented with this food again

This is by far the best Chinese restaurant I've ever been to. I was in town for business years ago and this was recommended to me by the locals. I happened to be in the area again and made a special trip to get some food to take home with me. I ended up getting about seven different dishes and was not disappointed!! And I didn't have to wait long either, so a plus. I've only had takeout here so I don't know how the table service is, but I'd bet it's worth it knowing how yummy the food is!
