I don't even like putting 1 star up for this place. I purchased a Groupon and have tried contacting them since April to set up a class by phone 6x leaving a couple messages. I have also sent numerous emails as well, but have received no communication what so ever, really disappointing.

BETTER THAN PORN! My Husband was surprising me with some mysterious activity in Sacramento for my Birthday on April 2nd (a Tues) and upon getting into the car we had the following conversation:Him: So now that we are on our way i guess i can tell you what we are doing. We will be indoors with a lot of bright lights, so it's good that you did your makeup, and look nice.Me: Very puzzled expression.Him: Do you remember that move, "Zach and Miri Make a Porno" and how at the end their business is helping couples create their own studio-quality sex tapes?Me: Yeaaaaah...Him: Well i thought it would be nice, you know to do that, and its a really nice place with only women on set...Me: WTF?! You're kidding, we are absolutely not doing that! No, you're joking...and if you're not you better turn this car around! And he kept acting like this was legitimately his surprise for a another minute and was doing a really convincing job of pretending that he was for real, and thus my anxiety/anger level was increasing until he finally laughs and says, no we are going to a glass blowing class. Oh the relief! Obviously i was a bit mad at the deception but had to laugh at his uncanny ability to say all of that to me with a straight face.Anyways, the ladies of Girl Glass thought this story was hilarious and really wanted to have it said on yelp that this experience was better than porn, and it was! I do know that they made a special exception via emails and phone calls back and forth between them and my husband to arrange this private class for us because it was not a normal day that they would have done it. They even allowed us to go to their house, and we did it in their backyard, just the two of us.My husband and I each made ornaments, and it was a really unique and fun experience that I totally recommend to anyone with any interest in the art of glass blowing. Its mind boggling what they can do and how it works and also very hot!!! Long sleeves highly recommended! They do a demo, and then they guide you through choosing your colors and then actually doing it yourself/assisting in the creation of your very own masterpiece. You don't get to take it home right away but they have various arrangements for getting it once it is ready. Another sweet touch: they had asked my hubby ahead of time if i liked vanilla or chocolate, to which he told them chocolate and then after our ornaments were made they brought out two delicious chocolate cupcakes from a local bakery in honor of my birthday! It was above and beyond to even get them but they were to-die-for good too!!! And so, to the ladies of Girl Glass: I give you five stars and I say thank you for a wonderful memory. I can't wait to see our finished ornaments!

Participated in the Groupon experience yesterday with two of my best friends. What a truly amazing experience!! We were able to create our own paperweight, but even to just to participate would have been such a treat. Shannon is a great teacher and watching her do her craft is so fun and interesting itself. It was a safe and calm environment the whole time. Even though you are dealing with such hot glass and and even hotter kiln (is that what it's called??), I never felt like I was going to be burned. But it's hot, that's for sure! I'm glad we did it on a cool day in April! You definitely feel the passion that Shannon and her partner have in their business and craft. They have other items for sale as well that are so beautiful. If you have the chance to experience this, please do! It was the perfect end cap for our girls weekend! Thank you Shannon and friends!!

I got my appointment and the experience was absolutely fantastic. It was a bit hard to get in contact at first, but, as far as the service is concerned it was awesome. The teacher for our class (shannon) was professional, nice, and very welcoming, as we're the other employees. Seriously, this is a cool experience I would recommend to anyone. If not for the initial difficulty contacting them this would be a 5 star review. Thanks for the great class!

I found out about this place from Groupon. I tried to contact Girl Glass via email and phone to schedule a class, and after months of no reply, I decided that a Groupon credit would be in my best interest. Pretty disappointed.Update: I somehow missed a message from the owner explaining what happened and offered to get me in the studio even though I got a Groupon refund. I'm glad she responded. Unfortunately I'm not in the area much anymore, but maybe another time.

I had the pleasure and privilege of going to the ornament class led by Shannon. What a neat experience! She spent time with each person in the class to make sure the colors we wanted would work etc. I used Iris gold in my ornament and it turned out amazing. I really appreciated that Shannon was willing to experiment and be adventurous with me since I picked a different type of color to work with. Thanks Girl Glass, see you in January for the paperweight class!

My sister and I just had the most amazing afternoon with Shannon and Sandy at the studio. We took the paperweight class. There were only two others besides us in the class. The small class sizes allow for tons of personal and individual instruction. Shannon truly caters her teaching to your needs. If you're looking for a class this is the place for you. You're made to feel comfortable and like a lifelong friend from the moment you walk in the door. I'm so happy to have had this experience. Thank you Shannon !

Cool little studio and gift shop. Lots of great unique finds and you can stay for the live demos. The Groupon deals make this a very reasonable place for gifts and you might even get inspired to buy other handcrafted works of art or to take a class and make your own.
