I really hate to give a one star, but this location is not doing Giovanni's proud. My first experience with Giovanni's was seven years ago on the Folsom Blvd location and they fully deserved five stars. That location is almost six miles from where I now live. I have periodically tried this location nearby but have usually been disappointed in one way or the other and it's not on my usual rotation. It's been about two years since I've ordered here, and I will never return after this sh*tshow of poor teamwork and cold pizza with insanely long wait times. I ordered a NY cheese pizza. I had tried three times to order on a linked app called Slice, but when it came to payment the site crashed. I then ordered on the phone. I was told it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. I got there in the 20 minute timeframe. I then waited in line for 20 minutes (there were two people ahead of me). It was a Friday night and they had several food delivery people waiting for large orders. I get it. I wasn't prepared for two employees to have words regarding the order for someone and questioning if it was the right order, almost taking it out of the guy's hands. The oven setup was a lot of activity by the massive pizza oven which is a narrow space, cooked pizzas are kept "warm," in a separate stacked oven, and someone was prepping pizzas in the back. There were, I believe, six people working there that night. There seemed to be a disconnect with the teamwork. However, after considering walking out, I sat down for the next ten minutes and my pizza was finally ready. (20-25 minute in store wait time on top of the 20 minute expected wait time ). The employee apologized for the wait, but with waits like this something should be comped or discounted or a coupon provided. And in the ten minute drive home, the pizza either got cold or it wasn't hot to begin with. $35 for this "experience." The family liked the pizza, but I said, "never again." To be fair the crust, sauce, and cheese with oregano topping is tasty. However, Imo you should not have to reheat a pizza that is carry out at a premium price, especially when you only have a ten minute drive home. Domino's and Little Caesar's etc may not be gourmet, but their pizzas are hot, a better value, drama free, and timely delivered -and/or ready at takeout.

I called in a pizza for pick up after work on Friday. Inside the restaurant was surprisingly spacious! There's room for multiple large parties.I had to wait maybe 5-10 minutes, not bad at all! The staff was friendly and efficient. I ordered a small pizza with pineapple, Canadian bacon, and jalapenos. It was delicious! I had half for dinner and had the rest in the air fryer for lunch the next day. I will definitely be back!

I like the thin crust Bronx pizza. Lots of toppings and the sauce is tasty. Every time I come here, the service has always been great. I get a friendly greeting, offers of eating utensils, plates, etc., and nice thank you. There are closer pizza places around me but I'll drive a little further for the pizza here.

Awesome spot!Food: 5/5 Pepperoni slice: 5/5 Classic & delicious with the ranch.Cheese slice: 5/5 So hard to beat a thin crust slice!Tip: Get the ranch! It's homemade!!Service: 5/5 They were out of the pesto but the lady at the front gave us recommendations of other things to order.Ambiance: 5/5 Cute old school place with longer tables as well smaller tables to sit at.

WHAT is going on, Yelpers? Who could possibly NOT rave about this pizza?? What am I missing? This is incredible pizza! My son would say "this pizza is Jesus." The ultimate compliment! I live fairly far, which is a serious bummer given that I will have to drive a long way to have this again. But drive I will....probably weekly. True NY style. Thin, cheesy, and crunchy on the crust - sauce, cheese, and spices are on the money. Zero changes needed. It's perfect. Got it to go. When I arrived it was in the "cooked but not hot" glass rack, then put into the oven for the final 3-5 minutes so it was piping hot and perfect when they handed it to me. I like my pizza hot so I took my first bite 60 seconds after I walked out. Never have I been so grateful to be a passenger. My husband drove and ate the entire time, in a downpour. That's how good it is. We just got home and the entire medium sized pizza is gone. It was "enough" for 2 hungry adults but I will always get a large going forward so I can eat til I'm sick. Like God intended. If you don't love this pizza please compliment me and tell me where you go instead cuz I really wanna know what could possibly be better than this!

Ok I loved my pizza I went back on my birthday for the pizza by the slice I didn't know they had a lunch special but two pieces of pizza get a free drink Monday -Saturday again didn't disappoint ... I didn't love the chicken garlic pizza only because I love pepperoni but for those who don't eat pepperoni it was good ... 10.99 for lunch special two slices and a drink ... ready to go !! My bday lunch workers super nice

Could be the best New York style pizza in Sacramento, and the ranch dressing they make in house is top tier. Even when they are swamped with orders the service is good, and the employees know their stuff. Tons of seating and lots of beer on tap if you're going to eat there, we usually do takeout and enjoy at home.

BEST PIZZA IN SACRAMENTO with the worst management. True NY style pizza with fresh toppings and homemade sauce! Salads are terrific with fresh anchovies and homemade dressing. I will never go to another pizzeria in Sacramento. Price is high, but worth every penny. Customer service is not the best, but it's fine. I do wish they had better coupons or deals.
