Best Public K-8 in Sacramento......period!!!I've have two nephews and one niece that go here. Their education at Didion is really paying off with each of them above the bar in academics. Sure, they may be still too young to be "advanced" for their ages, but this school sure does prepare them for present and future. It makes them who they are....confident!

This K-8 elementary/middle school has the reputation of being one of the finest educational facilities in the Sacramento area. I know people who have bought homes in the area just so that their children can attend there. Can you believe homework in kindergarten? Yes, they start the kids out young and get them into the habit of extracurricular studies. I must also praise the parent participation at this school. Every parent volunteers or participates in any and every school function. I have the feeling that these parents don't want to be left out of what goes on at the school and that is great!!!!

As a distinguished California elementary school, this school has consistently provided excellent education to my child. Unlike other Sacramento City Unified School District schools, this school is set in a peaceful neighborhood with minimal public traffic. Attached to Lewis Park, there is an ample meadow, baseball diamond, separate soccer field, blacktop with basketball courts, a track, tetherballs, a garden, onsite daycare facility, and a playground for older students. Kindergarteners have their own play structure and fenced yard. They strive to meet common core educational standards, and the teachers try their best to be supportive and helpful. They have a lot of school functions and extracurricular opportunities for kids. Most of the school functions are there not only to promote community, but to fundraisers for the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), who sponsors various field trips and supplies for students. The principle regularly communicates via emails and recorded phone calls to parents, as well as during events throughout the year. The office manager is consistently helpful and has great customer service skills, which I greatly appreciate!

I attended this school from 5th-8th grade. I am now 23 but still miss the days that I was able to attend! This school is incredible! I'm not sure if they still work there but Mr. Howe & Mrs. Cowan are the best teachers ever! The principal that I had was the best principal a kid could ask for he listened to the kids and even hung out like one of the crowd. I had such a great experience and also received a wonderful education. If I ever have kids I hope to be able to send them here!

By far, the best elementary school in sacramento! I have never been so confident recommending a school to parents. The teachers here are wonderful... There are obviously a few teachers that could be better but you're going to get that at any school. Other than those few that could possible use some extra training, the rest of the teachers are the best. The students here have top test scores and the teachers are willing to go above and beyond to help any students that may be struggling. The layout of the school makes it easy to get around and find classrooms. The kindergartens have their own separate gated play structure and outdoor play area so they aren't mixed and lost with the older children. I know there are some parents so eager to get their children into this school that they are willing to move into the area just to have a better chance at getting their child in this school. If you can go here, go! You won't be disappointed.
