Gangnam is my go-to kbbq in the area. Staff is friendly and attentive. They come by your table often to change the grill. Ayce and pricing is decent here. Our go-to order consists of their yummy brisket, short rib, pork belly, and beef tongue. Don't forget to add extra radish slices, lettuce and rice paper to enjoy the authentic kbbq experience. Their fried rice is also bomb.Establishment is clean as well. They're always bumping to kpop which makes it even more fun. There's sometimes a wait so make sure to get there early to get on their waitlist, it's worth the wait.

We had a friend visiting and he was craving Korean BBQ, so we decided to try this spot since it was closer to us. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The atmosphere is standard for a Korean BBQ restaurant, but I noticed that their grills needed to be changed out more frequently than other places I've been to. The biggest issue, however, was the service. The older waitress who took our order was incredibly rude--she seemed like she didn't want to be there. When I asked for dishes, she either ignored me or responded with an attitude, telling me to "just wait." It felt like she was purposely being rude and making me feel uncomfortable to place any orders with her.The food wasn't much better, huge lack of flavor. The tofu seafood soup looked like leftovers, wasn't filled properly, and tasted overwhelmingly salty--like instant noodle seasoning. The meats lacked seasoning, and they charge an extra $2.50 just for lettuce. While one of the younger waitresses was much nicer (she served us at the very tail end of our meal), the poor service from the older waitress and the subpar food made the whole experience unpleasant. I definitely won't be coming back--I'd rather make the drive to Daikon instead!

I came in for lunch on a Sunday, and it was just OK. I got there right when they opened, and there were already a fair number of people waiting. I was still seated quickly. The place is all you can eat, and there are two choices. The prices are on the higher end. They have. " Course A", which is everything on the menu and is $39.95,, or "Course B", which doesn't include some of the menu items, and is $33.95.. Course B still gives you plenty of choices, though, and that's what I went with. There was a lot of food. The banchan, (sides) were good, And were not too spicy. I thought it was a buffet set up where you go get your own meat and sides, but they take your order at the table. You can order up to three appetizers, and three proteins at a time, and then you cook the proteins on your tabletop grill. I ordered the thinly sliced beef belly, the curry chicken, and the garlic shrimp. I only ordered two appetizers, the steamed egg, and the corn cheese. The meal also comes with your choice of white or fried rice. I had the fried rice. The fried rice was good. For my drink, I ordered a soda which never came, so I just had water. The proteins come, and they gave me full sized portions. The waiter saw that I was by myself, you would think he would give me smaller portions so I could try other items. I didn't want to waste any food, so I didn't send anything back. I did end up eating all of the chicken and all of the beef belly. The beef belly was good, but it was frozen. I had heard that the meat was fresh, not frozen. The curry chicken, you could definitely smell the curry, but once I cooked it, I didn't taste it that much. The garlic shrimp, I only ate one. I couldn't taste the garlic at all. Also, after the first one, I noticed that they didn't clean the shrimp. I've seen that so many times in Asian restaurants. I know it won't hurt me, but I'm sorry... I find shrimp poop to be very unappetizing. As I was going through lunch, my grill was getting pretty gunked up, and when the waiter saw that, he replaced my grill top without me having to ask, which was helpful .As for the sides, the steamed egg was good, but it was burnt on the bottom. I could definitely taste it. After the first taste of the burnt, I didn't eat anymore. The corn cheese, they didn't even bother to melt the cheese. And I couldn't cook it on the grill, because I didn't have any type of scooper. Only tongs. So I just ate it as it was. I'm glad I checked my bill, because I was charged for the soda that I never got. Of course, once I brought it to their attention, they immediately took it off the bill. Still, after tax and tip, I was out $42 for just a so-so meal. Would I come back here? Maybe. But if I did, I would ask for a smaller portions, so that I could try more items. I do like the concept, so if I don't come by here, I will try another Korean BBQ in the area.

We stopped by Gingham Ave for dinner on a Saturday night around 7:35 PM and waited about 37 minutes for a table, not too bad for prime dinner hours. It's a smaller spot with a cozy vibe, but the ventilation could definitely be better. We left smelling like KBBQ smoke way more than usual than other places we've tried. That said, the service was exceptional. The staff was friendly, attentive, and quick to bring out food and refill side dishes, which made the experience more enjoyable. As for the food, the meats were the highlight. We tried the spicy chicken bulgogi, spicy pork bulgogi, and beef short ribs, and everything was flavorful and well-marinated, perfect for grilling. The baby octopus was another pleasant surprise, tender and delicious. Unfortunately, the corn cheese was just ok for me. It was bland and lacked the cheesy richness I expected. The seafood tofu soup had a good start, but the clams tasted off and threw off the flavor of the broth.A small detail to keep in mind: sodas are sold by the can, so no refills here.Overall, Gingham Ave has its ups and downs. The meats were great, the service was top-notch, but the limited menu options and ventilation issues took away from the experience. If you love KBBQ and don't mind leaving with a smoky smell, it's still worth checking out.

I havent been here in awhile and boy have I missed it. The food came quick and the servers were attentive. Meats were fresh and nicely cut (very important). My favorite was probably the steak and galbi. I loved all their unseasoned meats too. Their steamed egg was also yummy. Its great with their lettuce wrap and bean paste. It was pretty busy on a Friday night but we didn't have to wait too long for a table of 6. Its a fun place to eat. I'd definitely come back soon

I love KBBQ. Came here at 12pm on a Sunday and only couple of tables were occupied. We were seated within a min. They have pretty good selections on their menu. We chose Course A since galbi is only offered in this option. The flavors and quality were good overall. Service was pretty fast but there were times where we had to flag them down and waited a bit for them to come back to take our orders.Overall, had a good experience for my first time. I personally think they are one of the good kkq spots in sac.

This is by far my favorite KBBQ spot still. Their meat quality is so much better than anywhere else. It has been a few years since I've been a customer and the quality is still the same. I am not a Korean food lover, but I will come here. You know it's good when you see older Koreans here and not just all the Gen Z's and Millennials. It gets pretty packed. I also love how this place has better ventilation than other restaurants. It doesn't smell too horrible after a meal there. Their appetizers and sides are also different than others. The best part, they have intestines! Only a select few kbbq places have intestines and they are not all of the same quality. I usually receive better service here than other kbbq spots as well. They check up on tables quite often. Better come check it out bc you are def missing out if you haven't been here.
