Location is at the business area in Natomas in between two beauty schools. Plenty of tables and chairs inside, came in lunch time and students share the space. Super excited to try this place and it did not disappoint it gave me the authentic Polynesian food that I crave from Hawaii. We ordered *FOB shrimp - jumbo shrimp fried perfectly, sauce was buttery and garlicky fresh and with perfect acidity this was on top of a bed of creamy coconut rice! Definitely recommend! *Chicken Katsu - was such a big portion it was good , it's crunchy and really love the sauces they used on top it. Order came with a cup of rice and lemony macaroni salad. Portions a shareable and prices are very reasonable! We were already thinking of going back and trying other food in the menu! If you're craving for some Polynesian food this is the spot!

The food is hands down some of the BEST Hawaiian food we've had outside of Hawaii! We arrived about a half hour before closing and the owner was still nice and welcoming. We ordered the poke nachos and the Huli Huli chicken. The owner threw in free Lau Lau and a spam musubi for our daughter which was super sweet of him! The poke on the nachos was nice and fresh. The wonton chips were super crispy and the toppings and sauce were so tasty! My husband devoured the Huli Huli chicken and said it was BETTER than what we've had in Hawaii. Their Mac salad has dill in it which was a nice touch. The Lau Lau was tasty, but did have large chunks of fat. The spam musubi was daughter approved The location can be kinda difficult to see from the street as it's surrounded by businesses. Parking was super easy as they share a huge lot with the salon school next door. They have plenty of tables for those looking to eat inside.Wished we lived closer as we'd come by all the time if we could. Will definitely be back whenever we're in Natomas!

I work in an office down the street from this spot. It shares a space with the beauty and barber college I believe, but it's kind of hard to find unless you actively look for it. I know about this place from a friend who cuts hair and he gave a serious recommendation. My buddy and I both ordered the combo plate (about $18 each), which came with huli huli chicken, pork belly lau lau, mac salad, and rice. The servings were very generous, the chicken was moist and flavorful, and the lau lau was tender as it can get without feeling greasy. I usually don't prefer lau lau but this was exceptional. What stands out about this place is not only the food, but the service and hospitality. Chef T (owner) was there today and he was extremely friendly and even gave us lemonades on the house. That kind of service is what brings people back, and it's evident that he cares greatly for the quality of his food and for the people he serves to.The menu includes other typical island fare like poke and musubi, so I am definitely coming back to explore the menu further. I cannot recommend this place enough if you are looking for authentic island cooking. God bless.

YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS! It's lowkey out in the middle of nowhere. There's plenty of parking. Concise menu. All the food was delicious. I want to come back and try out their other dishes. I personally liked their poke bowl.

I'm so glad I finally had my chance to patronize Fresh Off Da Boat after reading so many great reviews about them. They did not disappoint. Tucked right next to Federico beauty school, this establishment serves a variety of Polynesian food, some of which I've never had before. The day I went their fish special was a mahi mahi plate. It had a tasty herb seasoning, grilled to a slight crunch but still fresh, tender and flakey. Side was Taro Confit....ohh man that was so delicious too! It was a bit salty but when you make yourself the perfect bite with rice & fish, it transformed my taste buds. I was scraping the foil off to eat every last bit.To-go I got my husband their Huli-huli chicken. He said it was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The side of palusami greens he couldn't finish because it was too spicy-bitter for his tastebuds. To me it had that distinctive greens taste along with horseradish. I loved it and finished it all. My one critique was the loco moco. The gravy was too salty. They give you a nice generous patty of meat plus eggs any way you want it. We had to eat it in small portions with lots of extra rice to help scale back the salt.Inside there are lots of tables, a self serve water station, a sink to wash your hands, and bits of Polynesian decor over bright happy paint. You can see the school's salon when you sit indoors. Service was very friendly and attentive. I had two young people helping me and they nicely answered my questions. There's many other lunch items to try and they have a breakfast menu that I really want to try next. Looking forward to returning when I have another day off.

This restaurant is hidden away in a business park that is home to a beauty school. If you had never heard of Fresh Off Da Boat, it would have been early impossible to find. This restaurant features Hawaiian food including famous dishes like loco moco, huli huli chicken, and spam masubi. We found the staff to be very friendly and engaging. They were very good about explaining some of the dishes that we were unfamiliar with.In terms of the dishes, they were a bit hit or miss. The huli huli chicken was excellent, but the loco moco and the Hawaiian burger both were a bit too sweet for my tastes.Fresh Off Da Boat has a signature sauce that they add in, and I think it's that sauce that is making the dishes a bit over-sweet.The wait time for the food was also a little long for a small party of three. I think it was because there isn't much in terms of kitchen staff to really expedite dishes - especially cooked ones.

The flavor was there, but we were a little disappointed with what we got. The fries had a wet batter which was tasty from aioli, but it was on top of the fries making the fries soft and cool (as opposed to hot and crispy) I got the hiccups and had to wash them down with some water, so I didn't choke. My boyfriend got the shrimp. They warned him the shells were still on and that's how they ate it, but he couldn't work through it. He ended up peeling the shrimp but without all the goodness on the shells, the shrimp were kinda bland. The seating was cafeteria-style.

I was surprised by this little gem. The poke was actually really good, and the only complaint I have is the sauce is on the top layer only and it's on heavy. I might ask to have everything separate next time. This place fills it to the top and doesn't skimp out on toppings. Plus it's really affordable! I'll be back!

Came here in a Saturday for an early lunch. Plenty of seating. Service was great. I ordered the Huli huli chicken. It was cooked perfectly and had a good amount of garlic on top. They ran out of salad so they gave me rice, which I had no issue with. The chicken it sat on top of this green sauce that was like lime/cilantro flavor. I was not a big fan of it and it would have preferred my dish without it. Just didn't pair well with the chicken. My husband got the loco moco. He wasn't too impressed with it. He mentioned it had one too many flavors happening at once. I tried it, it was okay. A bit on the salty side. I would want to give this place another chance and possibly try the poke nachos next time around.

I was so excited when I realized how close Fresh Off Da Boat is to me. When I first drove here I was surprised, because it's not in the normal Natomas restaurant areas. It's more in a business park area, but this means it's a bit of a hidden gem. They have a parking lot and plenty of seating if you want to dine in, including some outdoor tables. It's a very casual spot where you'll order and pay at the counter. A lot of the food is made to order, so it comes out hot and fresh. I ended up getting the poke as well as their fish and chips. The person helping me was really friendly and made some suggestions, including suggesting I try the fish and chips for my first visit. They also suggested I try the fish and chips with their FOB sauce, which was a great suggestion. All the food was fresh, the poke was delicious and the fish and chips was still hot and crispy when I got it home. I'm excited to try more of their menu and will be back soon.
