The man who works here is not very welcoming. He was prejudiced against a dog I tried to bring in just because it was a bull dog. He asked a lot of questions about whether or not the dog was nice. I think you should either allow dogs or not. It's the dog owner's responsibility to not bring in a mean dog.Three stars because they have a good selection of market-style food. There are a lot of drinks, chips, and a frozen section. This is a decent place to shop as a corner store.

I have come across some rude people in my day, but the man running this store at night takes the cake. I was just in there the other night a little over an hour before close to pick up a soda, and the cashier basically looked at me like I was a bug on the wall and said "that's it?" He told me he'd give it to me for something like 30 cents if I had cash, which I didn't. Of course, me not having cash was a big deal as well and then he rolled his eyes and proceeded to raise the price to over $2.50.... needless to say, this place is fuckin shady. Don't come here unless you absolutely have to.

Great beer selection, but would it kill them to keep it cold? I think they turn the fridges off each night because every time I open a beer before refrigerating it myself at home for at least an hour or two, I find that it is "camping cold". You know, where the glass feels coldish and the beer is just below warm? Gross. Generally, if I'm paying more to buy my beer from a corner store (instead of Costco or somewhere), it's because I want to drink them right then.On top of that, the guy at the counter is always on his phone and seems super put out that you came in to buy his warm beer. Never a hello? Not even once? Come on man.I'd rather drive to Tower Liquor for my Scrimshaw, or grab some Rogue Dead Guy from Pacific Market instead.

This is the place! I'm telling you, it is THE place. I was cat/house sitting in the area and I stopped by here lured in with a sign out front that promised bottles of 7Up for only 99 cents! Oh mon dieu, I need 7up!Walked in, grabbed soda and spotted some premade sandwiches in the display case. And a woman walked around the corner at that moment to add more fresh made to the display. So good! Sliced bread sandwiches for only $1.99 or on a hoagie roll for $2.99. Loaded with ham, turkey, cheese, salami, tuna or chicken salad. Each sandwich is made a little different, so look at each one to see which you like the best.

I have visited Fremont Market at least once a week for the past 8 years. The owners and their family are really nice. The wife makes fresh sandwiches daily. They are a convenient and really inexpensive way to grab a quick meal. They've also got a great selection of sodas, beer, ice cream, and other snacks at reasonable prices.Short of visiting a supermarket, there is no place better in the neighborhood to get a quick bite and a soda.

Living right down the street from this place makes it useful. Wine selection is A-ok! No liquor however. The owner and his wife are great.

My go to neighborhood market. The store is small but jammed packed with almost everything you might need. The owners husband and wife work tireless hours with frequent help from their son. Friendly and always helpful. If you want something special they will do their best to order it and have it in stock when you need it. Can't get better than that.

One thing that's great about living in midtown is the corner stores you'll find throughout the grid. You don't have to drive all the way to a supermarket if you need something small. You can just throw on some sweats and a crappy t-shirt and hobble a few blocks to one that's nearby. This is excellent when you're feeling particularly lazy, don't feel like being presentable, or substantially hungover (all 3 maybe?).Not all corner stores are made equal though. Some barely qualify as a store with limited goods while others have a mind blowing diversity of stuff. Fremont Market is somewhere on the higher end of that scale. The store is a narrow rectangular space but they manage to fit a wide variety of stuff in there: canned foods, frozen food, perishables, drinks, random supplies, cigarettes, beer/wine, etc. The food diversity is good (they carry sandwiches they make which are tasty and convenient. They don't have everything but being right next to American Mart across the street, you can get basically anything you need between the two. The beer selection is actually REALLY good (lots of craft beers and plenty of staples if you're just trying to drink). It seems to be family owned (husband, wife, son usually run the register... sometimes someone else hired on). They are all very friendly but aren't pushy about conversation if you're not in the mood (an underrated skill). If you're a regular and they notice an item you like, they will make sure to keep it stocked when you come in.They also have later hours on the weekend which always comes in handy when you're coming home and don't want to waste money on a Postmate.
