Foxy's Fall Century, managed by the Davis Bike Club, first time I'm first to yelp.I will start by saying what it is not. The Foxy's Fall Century is not a race. You are expected to obey all traffic laws, (stopping at stop signs, ect.) It is not a Gran Fondo, there is no group start. You sign in, get on your bike and go. The Foxy's Fall Century is a fun and challenging ride. (There are rest stops along the route.) The route is very scenic. After the ride, there is a picnic and other events at the start/finish location. The century ride is a fun day.Century, as in 100, 100 as in 100 miles, there is also a metric century, 100 kilometers or 62.137 miles and a half century, 50 miles. At 15 mph one will finish the full century in 6 hours and 40 minutes, 20 mph is a finish time of five hours. Endurance is more important than speed. If you don't have any friends that want to ride that far, come and ride by yourself. There are plenty of people to talk to at the rest stops and the after ride picnic. You might make new friends. The Davis Bike Club also sells a souvenir bicycle jersey.Going to work after the Century Ride you could have this conversation :You : "How was your weekend ?"Fat co-worker : "I sat on my sofa and watched TV all day"You : "I rode my bicycle 100 miles."www.davisbikeclub.org for more information, you can do this.I made a joke about Fat co-worker .
