Folsom Palace

One of the best Chinese restaurants in the area... The food was excellent, the service attentive, and the decor was colorful and uplifting. I wish the interior wasn't lined with so many big-screen TVs as that's more appropriate for a sports bar setting than for a nice dinner out. However, the pluses clearly outweigh the minuses so I'll be back here again soon.

Tuesday afternoon lunch. Dining room not busy. Immediately greeted by a happy and gracious hostess. Seated at the premium front window table. Nice furniture modern and sleek. Comfortable chairs. As you can see from many Yelp photos the dining room is delightful chaos of colors, many mismatched (yet matching) ceiling drop lamps, wall sconces full of knick-knacks, and a giant TV screen over the bar. I didn't get bored looking around the place.I ate the $15 Kung Pao chicken combo lunch meal. The introductory hot and sour soup was just that. Lots of black pepper in it. I like peppercorns and spicy food so the soup was great. Thick broth, many small cubes of soft tofu, nibs of green onions.The main dish of oh so tender spicy chicken slices with a medley of crispy fresh wok fried vegetables was good enough. A bit on the sesame seed oily side. I chose chow mein noodles for the starch. Had the same sauce as the kung pao so the plate in its entirety was a bit boring. None the less I did gobble up every noodle.Portion big enough that I boxed up at least 1 cup of food for a take home 2nd meal. I'll make dry ramen and throw the kung pao on top.I have not eaten restaurant Chinese American food for 6 months. This meal was a nice re-introduction.Maybe return for dinner when I can shamelessly order a glass of wine or 2. There's some respectable wines on the list. Priced at $8 - $13 per glass that's a bargain worth another visit.

Our first visit to this restaurant, and it was a good one. Food, service, atmosphere, cleanliness.... all good.Definitely a cut above for Chinese food! Five stars all the way!

Don't know why I haven't reviewed this place before (eaten here 2x) , however here it goes : - Service was excellent! - Food was amazing -Great ambiance Centrally located on Sunrise Blvd, not a huge place but very comfy , the food is absolutely delicious, I swear that maybe 10minutes after ordering our food was on the table , our beer was frosty cold . I definitely will be back and I recommend you coming here !!! FYI- order the Wonton soup - you'll be happy you did !

Situated in a very unassuming strip mall on Sunrise Blvd, Folsom Palace is delightfully colorful when you walk inside and bigger than it looks from the parking lot. We were greeted right away, and our table was ready. While we were waiting for our group, we ordered a sparkling sake from the bar. I had never had sparkling sake before, and it was really good! The servers were attentive and helpful. The portions of food are huge, so definitely plan on sharing or taking home leftovers. The prices seem reasonable, and the orders came out relatively fast. Great family spot and for big groups dining.

Saturday, 9/21/2024 - tried "Folsom Palace" fir the first time. Address is 5450 #E Sunrise Blvd, Citrus Heights, CA. I've seen this restaurant a few doors down from Nation's Giant burgers. So... we went to try them. Upon arrival...Pros1) limited parking, but it's free parking.2) they have indoor and outdoor seating. 3) The hostess is also the waiter. He's super nice and welcoming. 4) the server checked in on us a few times. Talked very nicely and calm voice. 5) The lady came and refilled our water cups. Water tasted great. 6) food tasted great! Sichuan chicken was perfect! Sweet and sour pork was....meh. But not bad. A little on the dry, harder side. Crab meet cheese puffs were good. 1 side of rice cost $3.00, FYI.7) Restaurant looked clean; tables and chairs clean; utensils, plates, cups all looked clean. 8) There are two bathrooms with one stall in each. It's for men and women. Cons:1) they do not have a kids menu. 2) a small side of rice for 1 person is $3.00.Conclusion We liked this restaurant. Foods were good. Staffs nice. Restaurant looked cleaned. I didn't see a baby changing station in the bathroom I went to. But not sure if there's one in the other bathroom. We definitely will try this place again.

Beautiful interior decor gives it a cozy ambiance.Food was on point and delicious. Friendly service.

Nice place that's not too small and not too big. It's been around a little over two years old. My husband and I have been looking for a Chinese restaurant that serves Sizzling Rice soup. We came a lunch and didn't see it on the lunch menu but I saw it on the website so I thought I'd ask and the guy said yes they have it! I was so excited! We ordered it but I my disappointment it wasn't sizzling. Normally the soup comes hot and they put the rice in at the table and it sizzles. Well the soup came not so hot and the rice was sitting on top of the soup. I mixed it with but no sizzle. The soup tasted good and the service was excellent so we will come back another time. Maybe I'll order the Wor Won Ton soup next time.

For my beverage, I had hot tea. For my appetizer, I enjoyed steamed shrimp dumplings. The shrimp dumplings were incredibly delicious. For my main entrée, I had the kung pao chicken, which had phenomenal flavor, juiciness, and tenderness. It was very well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. The ambience was pretty chill, and the server was very responsive.

Everything was perfect. Fast and attentive service.Clean and cozy place with good food with decent price.
