A trip to Fish Face Poke Bar was long overdue. To be fair, I've visited WAL Public Market many times, but somehow it's always been when Fish Face is closed. Today I was in the area and took full advantage of them being open!I took in the full menu, including their specials and ended up ordering the Super Musubi ($6) and a Medium Poke Bowl ($16) and added charred scallion ($0.50), masago ($1), and wakame salad ($1.50).The staff there was very friendly and helped with some suggestions for sauce combinations and toppings. I paid and waited for my order to be ready.Since Fish Face is at WAL there is communal seating inside and outside for customers to use. I waited near the pick up area as others grabbed their orders. It was really busy during lunchtime. When my order was ready they offered me wasabi, ginger and soy sauce and I accepted some ginger. It was nice of them to do that. There were also chopsticks and napkins available.I took the food home and snapped a couple photos before digging in. The Super Musubi was unique, not my favorite version of musubi, but worth a try. I think I enjoy regular musubi better and the addition of the cheese skirt didn't do much for me. The poke bowl was great though. All the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. I opted for half salad and half rice base and I mixed everything together before eating. The salmon and tuna I got in my bowl was really fresh and paired perfectly with the sauces and other ingredients. The ingredients I added for extra were delicious, but $1 for a scoop of masago and $1.50 for wakame seemed a bit much for the portion they added to the bowl. Overall, I really enjoyed it though.I'll be back for more of the fresh fish and delicious sauces. I'll probably pass on adding "extra" toppings in the future. Overall a great option for lunch though.

No, just don't come here. For the price I am paying, when I opened the bowl I was shocked to see how little was inside. Fish were cut so small, rice was scarce, I was still able to see the bottom of the bowl, how sad. Also I've been to many poke places and I've never seen crab salad like the one here before. I was not a fan. It looked like tuna from the can and had a weird smell to it. I had paid an extra $3 for that too! I've never been more disappointed in my life. That's $17 I will never get back and I'm just so disappointed

Extremely fresh poke with a good assortment of toppings. So instead of paying full price for a bowl with all its toppings, you just pay for the base and fish of your choice, then pay for every additional topping. I got sushi rice as my base and added tuna and albacore tuna as my protein. I got the creamy cilantro pesto sauce and for my toppings I got the togashari chili flakes, cucumbers, fried garlic, and masago. I ended up paying around $14.50 which is pretty good. There's options for seating around. After I received my order I realized they switched it with my friend's even tho we paid separately. We only realized after we started eating which was a bit annoying, especially if they would have switched it with someone else's. The poke itself was quite fresh and delicious. The toppings were good but the sauce was too herby for my taste. It didn't pair well with the fish and toppings in my opinion.

The fish quality is top tier however as someone who eats very little, the small size is still not enough. You have to get at least the medium size because with the small, all you get is toppings and a few pieces of fish. I actually prefer that it doesn't come with a ton of toppings bc you get to appreciate the fish more. I like to get the medium size and add masago with rice and greens. Service is very fast (usually) and there is cute indoor and outdoor seatings. It's pricier than other places but the fish is consistently fresh!

We arrived at Happy Hour. It was tough to say no to beer deals they had. Pole was done and ready by the time we finished ordering. We were able to capitalize on a chef special roll of the day. Some is to be said about finding a way to make you feel special as a customer and this place totally does just that. We sat down outside and had a fresh lil breeze that made it delightful. Maybe next time it's a beer and a hand roll ;)

Been eating here for 10 years now, and the food is consistently good. It's a little bit price but you get good quality food. The staff are always very nice and the wait time is reasonable. If you're looking for good poke bowls, this is the spot to go to in Sacramento.

Has to be the freshest poke spot in Sacramento! They definitely don't skimp on the fish here and I got a large bowl. Some places would load you up with the sushi rice or salad but that wasn't the case at Fish Face. I really liked the hand rolls and their other special dishes looked really good! Service was quick and they were super friendly. If you're looking for crab salad made with real crab meat, they have it here also!

I walked here to grab lunch here so i walked here. Location: great! Bars, restaurants and shops are within walking distance. I have been wanting to try this place.Service: cashier was friendly, the lady who handed my (to-go) food didnt smile or greet me. Food: gyoza had no flavor, you're better off buying costco's frozen gyoza. The dipping sauce had no flavor, youre dipping into oil only. The spicy tuna hand roll had chunks of tuna but no flavor, its just spicy. I also got the salmon roll, again no flavor. The seaweed salad was bland. I wont be returning.
