This was the first year I attended the Farm to Fork Street Festival and I'm so sad I missed out on years of fun. No worries though, this has become a must attend event for my family. The festival was Friday and Saturday for 2024 and we attended on the Friday. It's free to enter. We arrived on the earlier side, around 5pm and it wasn't too crowded and lines for food were short. We grabbed drink tickets, which were reasonably priced- $8 for beer, $12 for cocktails and I think $10 for wine (we didn't get any wine though). There was music, a silent disco, local vendors, and on Friday there was a private Grand Tasting event that costs extra and was sold out the day of the event. We ended up stopping for drinks with Midtown Spirits, grabbed some adobo bacon jerky with Baboy Boys, a chicken and rice plate with Sweet Mother 101 and a bucket of lumpia and chicharones from Lumpia Bucket. It seemed like prices were a bit more festival prices than everyday prices, but the food was good!We walked around for a while, visited some of the interactive booths/vendors and headed out after a few hours. As we were leaving the crowds were getting larger and the lines were getting longer. They had music going throughout the event, and it was fun to listen to.Next year we plan to come on Saturday and start early in the day again. We would also consider doing the Grand Tasting in the future.

This is an annual event to highlight Sacramento's representation of fresh foods straight from Farm-to-Fork.Something that I'm quite aware of because my dad was a farmer in Sacramento, that provided its fruits and vegetables to local markets. There were a lot of local venders highlighting their products made locally with local products. The festival itself is smaller than usual, featuring less local stores (no Nuggets or Save Mart); in other words, less sponsors. It took me only an hour to see everything. Quite a variety of food trucks to purchase from.I had the opportunity to try the lumpia, which is sold by the bucket. That's a first, and it was very good...very crispy on the outside and meaty on the inside. The owner (I think) was very nice, even though i told him i didn't plan to buy. I definitely will when i see the lumpia buckets in the future. The Olive oil and balsamic vinegar also had good flavor. This year, with less participants, there were more areas of tables and chairs for seating and eating, which is very nice.

This is our second year in a row going to this festival and it's one of the better ones in town - and best of all it's free! You can reserve parking ahead of time online too for a cheaper rate so we got a spot in a parking garage right up front for only $8. There are tons of food and drink vendors, as well as shopping and local goods! They have live music all day with brief breaks in between. There are some chairs and tables set up around the event but you're better off just bringing a picnic blanket and setting up on one of the many grassy areas. I appreciate that they do the event for two days so you have the opportunity to make it to one or both days. We like going in the afternoon because the tall buildings will block out the sun by then so the weather is much cooler!

Just ok. Not very many vendors as last year. Very disappointed, no good food to get. Went home hungry.Music is really loud near food court. It's to be expected. Still ok walking around . Love the fruit drinks at Estillo.

Many times we have attended this F2F festival in the past since 2013 as I have a wifey who is a festival junkie. It was one year bc of Covid it didn't happen but this year 2022 it literally looked like prepandemic times! It has gone from one day to two days now meaning it includes Friday & Saturday. We mainly attended this year for the headline entertainment on both days for the first time for us.This year 2022 we saw Gregory Porter who was born in Sacramento & raised in Bakersfield. He met his band from Harlem he said whose voice was full, strong, melodious & Gorgeous! So artistic! Check him out on YouTube bc Yelp doesn't give it justice as far as time length of videos. We actually spent the entire Saturday there at the event. Why not as it's free & there are a few tents that offer free sampling. Wifey love love loved the peach ice cream at SaveMart! But if you're super hangry go for a hot dog at Lockeford Sausage who had two tents I was seriously eyeing it! They required cash even though a tv station said card only. Or even the many different foodie trucks & tents there! We even scored free apples, lemons, almonds (large bags), chopping boards, free canvas bags & free shortbread cookies. Wifey didn't even buy a meal bc she was full from samples although she bought a couple cake slices from Kalani Kakes! Shockingly she wasn't a fan of the lilikoi dark chocolate mochi rice cake though. I bought a green healthy smoothie with no sugar. So healthy! Yaasss! Crowds were there especially for the free live entertainment. We watched Jocelyn & Chris. Jocelyn's voice reminded us of Janis Joplin. We also got to see National Park who were very entertaining with 1 energetic gal a violinist & the other gal was performing on the keyboards & singing. Love their name! When Japanese Breakfast came out it got super jam packed crowded like a typical music festival & it's FREE! There were still a few people wearing masks. People even stood on their chairs blocking our view of course. So dramatically crazy but Japanese Breakfast has her following! Why not? as you didn't have to purchase tickets to see her like her present tour right now. We were fortunate this year to find parking both days as wifey told me Michael Buble was performing at Golden 1 on Saturday. We overheard people saying how do we get to Golden 1 center bc the F2F festival was blocking Capital Mall from 3rd to 7th streets. You can enter the festival for free at 3rd & N & walk to 4th & L to take you to the other side directly to Golden 1 or 7th & Capital. We were fortunate too as the temperature only got to low 90s & blessed that they had chairs inside those several demo tents with different chefs or wine sommeliers or butchers speaking to us. We accomplished over 16000 plus steps in that day easily! This year they had the West End on Friday only for food sampling. It's 100 bucks a shot. Heard they sold over 250 tickets. We didn't try this year but maybe next year if we aren't gone traveling? It's probably the closest thing to the Tower of Bridge dinner that is super impossible to get in now. Go for it if you love these types of events like we do! Next year it will be their tenth year!!!

I look forward to the Farm to Fork festival every year and have been going for years. It's one of my favorite festivals in downtown. Admission is free and it's dog friendly. It's such a good family event with plenty to do for the whole family. My favorite part is checking out all the local vendors. I always have to stop by Upper Crust to grab one of their baked goods. This last time, I got a mangonada from Gaspachos. I asked to have some of the mango on the side since my toddler can't eat spicy and they were so accommodating. The line goes quick since they have a lot of workers and move through quickly. The are a lot of food trucks to choose from as well.Parking is a bit hard to find and may be a far walk. Night time is more crowded so go during the day if you're trying to avoid the crowd.

Honestly I was surprised how much I enjoyed myself. I knew about this event from online ads and saw how early they prepped the street for the event on Thursday. There was a lot of variety at the event. Several booths had a lot of nice information about themselves or their services they provided. They had several alcohol stations and one designated area for the food trucks, right next to the musical stage. They had smaller vendors spread throughout the festival too.I liked how they had some free snacks at one of the sponsorship booths as well.Overall an enjoyable free festival to see what Sacramento has to offer.
