Stopped by for a quick lunch after Lacrosse games. We are not from the area so relied on Yelp reviews. Parking was easy. Place looked nice on the outside. Inside smelled and looked very clean. Friendly greeting by the staff. Menu had many options but not too crazy. Prices were reasonable. We ordered a hand roll, a special roll, two bento boxes and an appetizer. All were delicious. Temperature was good. Quality of the food was really good. Service was fast. We had a great experience and will definitely return when we are in the area.- sesame chicken was crunchy, hot and not oily.- teriyaki chicken was flavorful and juicy.- zig zag hand roll was very generous and tasty.- Eros roll (sp?) had fresh ingredients and tasty.If you are in the area definitely give it a try!

I rarely write reviews but just had to for this one. Buckle up. I ordered a kids meal teriyaki chicken, a teriyaki salmon bento box, and garlic edamame. Cost was $40. Got my food after waiting nearly half an hour~ then when I got home my salmon wasn't thoroughly cooked nor was the fish fresh to begin with. Smelled putrid. Didn't eat it and threw that away which left me with rice and a salad and edamame. Then I open my son's food.. chicken wasn't thoroughly cooked and was raw in the middle with grill marks on the outside. As for the garlic edamame, didn't even taste like garlic which they upcharge you to add. Smelt horrible they were cold and the garlic part was so bland it tasted like dried onion on them. Had to add garlic salt. Could've went to Mikunis for the price and better quality. Mind you I'm pregnant and this could have hurt my baby. I will be suing thanks. Waste of my time and my money and almost compromised my sons and unborn baby's health as well as mine. Don't even bother with this run down place. There's hella other reviews that people have gotten food poisoning from here. Get it together yall.

Probably the worst sushi I have eaten in the Sacramento area, the calamari it was so hard I couldn't chew, the fish is def not fresh had a very strong fish taste, and the sushi rolls were so soft that we had to eat with our hands and tasteless. The server was friendly but super slow, I had to ask for plates 3 times, the table next to us guy a sushi boat and no plates either, Won't come back.

What we ordered: Sesame Chicken Bento Box: breaded and deep fried chicken, with sesame sauce. Comes with rice, a salad, and two pieces of gyoza. We wanted the sauce of the gyoza on the side because it usually comes with sauce on top. Instead of this, we received the bento box with the gyoza with sauce and an extra order of gyoza instead. We asked to cancel the order of gyoza and asked for the gyoza in the bento box without sauce and they took back our bento box and made both the chicken and gyoza without sauce. We had to ask for a side of the sesame sauce. Overall the chicken was pretty dry and I probably wouldn't get it again. Philly Cheese Steak Roll: tender beef on top of California Roll with bake sauce and fresh onion. I really liked the beef on top, the sauce was very flavorful and the meat was tender. However, I didn't like the California roll on the bottom too much. I would probably recommend this for someone who doesn't enjoy eating raw fish. If I could get the meat again as part of a bento I would but overall as a roll I wouldn't get this again. King Kong roll: deep fried or fresh option available, I went with the fresh. Comes with crab, avocado, cucumbers spicy tuna, deep fried shrimp, hamachi, and cream cheese. Overall this was a pretty decent roll, I would say that I couldn't taste the cream cheese too much and my shrimp did have the tail attached still when it was fried (I know the tail is edible but I prefer not eating the tail as I hate the texture). I would save this was one of the biggest rolls I've ever gotten and I wish it did have more contrasting textures (everything was kinda soft and no crunch). I definitely wouldn't recommend getting this deep fried because of its size but honestly not a bad roll for the price. Sun Down Jennifer: crab, avocado, spicy tuna, deep fried crab, topped with tuna, unagi, and shrimp. This roll was also pretty massive in size, again for the price and size overall wasn't too bad. Overall, service and definitely be improved on. Besides the miscommunication for our bento box, for our sushi we were asked if we wanted ginger and wasabi. I said I wanted just ginger and everyone else didn't want ginger or wasabi and they ended up bringing everyone ginger and wasabi. Also, the wait time for our rolls was around 30 minutes and there was only one other party there. The bento box came out almost immediately though which made me think that it wasn't fresh. So I was just sitting there for half an hour waiting for my food since they came out at different times. I wouldn't recommend this place for a date night or anything like that. I think this place for the price is alright so if you're looking for sushi that's more budget friendly I would say give this place a try but definitely note that the quality of the food isn't the greatest compared to other places. I don't think I would come back for a dine in experience but if I'm in the area I think it would be a good take out/late night option.

I dislike writing a bad review as I allow the restaurant to rectify the situation first. However I called and their employee said they will have a manager reach out to me and as of today, no news. One word, food poisoning. Terrible service. Our appetizer was forgotten and served after the main course. Did not refill our water, I had to ask for it.

Edward was the only waiter working and he was very attentive and friendly. He was managing phone call orders and all the customers at the restaurant- very impressed by his work ethic. That alone rates a 5/5. Sushi wise - I got the shrimp lover and manzanita roll (request it untourched). The rolls were simple and tasted great and had a great presentation, but the rice kept falling apart the moment I picked it up with my chop sticks. It was not sticky enough and was not holding up like a regular sushi rice. The chicken teriyaki was a bit dry; I would suggest more sauce. They have daily lunch bento box and sushi roll deals - all are reasonably priced. The portions are amazing for the bento boxes and a bang for your buck. Food came out quickly as well and made to order. The restaurant was clean and the vibe was calm, especially for a Friday during lunch hour. Highly recommended food you're looking for good sushi fix for an amazing deal. I'll be back whenever I'm in the area.

Express Sushi & Teriyaki is a pleasant surprise and literally a hidden gem! Despite my initial hesitation about its location, my husband and I decided to try it based on the great reviews, and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is bright, clean, and welcoming, with a giant TV for watching sports, which adds to the relaxed vibe. The staff is friendly and helpful, and their sushi boats are not only delicious but also reasonably priced. We'll definitely be coming back!

You know a sushi place isn't going to be good when it has the word express, hibachi, or teriyaki in its name. My husband and I still wanted to give Express Sushi a try so we ordered some rolls for pick-up. They were not great and lacked flavor. I mostly tasted sesame oil. The sauce on the sushi was good, though. Fish and all were fresh. Can't comment on customer service since we didn't dine in. I know good sushi when I come across it, and this wasn't it. Reminds me of the sushi at Winco.

Absolutely great, from the time we walked it from the time we left. The food was fresh and the kids plate (not pictured) was more than enough. Chicken teriyaki & rice it was plenty for $8 it even came on the cutest plate. The plating on their rolls was stunning and delicious. The service was great very attentive and made sure that we were well taken care of. Bring refills without asking and asking if everything was good or if we needed anything more. The ambiance of Music in the background was a plus at times I found myself Singing along to my favorite jams. We will definitely be back & look forward to watching this place grow!! I recommend everyone give it a try you won't be disappointment!
