We are members and absolutely love this place. My kids have taken camps here over summer and throughout the school year and we also had my five year olds birthday party here...they always want to return for more. They recently re did the science center and it is such a well done space. The kids enjoy all the interactive stuff as well as the animals. The membership is really great bc you get access to free events - like private times, meet Santa / holiday party, and discounted birthday parties and camps.

We stumbled across this place during a search for birthday locations. The facility, staff, and educational activities were so impressive that we brought our daughter's entire class for a birthday party. The educational program and leaders were kind and appropriate for the kids. We got back many responses from the parents that had not been there before were extremely grateful and delighted to be in a safe place where the kids could interact and touch the many exhibits. An additional note, the kids were sitting on the ground to have some animals come out and great them. Some of the kids made little mess with some snacks. By the time I came back to gather up belongs and clean the room the staff had already vacuumed and cleaned everything up. This whole experience was very reasonably priced and we felt taken care of so we could celebrate with the kids.

I don't have kids but I get such pleasure dropping off empty toilet paper and paper towel rolls for their activities. When I approached the building today someone rushed out to save me time and steps and accepted my bag of paper cylinders with "Awesome" and grateful thanks. I've received the same welcome each time I've dropped off paper rolls, they really appreciate donations from the public, but see the attached list of what they can use and what they do not need.

As a evacuee of the Camp Fire I am really thankful to have been able to go hear and have a place for my 2 and almost 5 year old to go and learn. They were so happy to get their hands on all the cool stuff there. I thought the wind tunnels were supper cool and the virtual bikes. The facility was smaller than I expected but I feel like the rate for visitors was still fair. Thank you Explorit for being so fun and accommodating !

I first took my son here last summer (3 1/2 years old). It easily kept him busy with tons of fun for 2+ hours. They were closing and he didn't want to leave. :-)Then last weekend for his 4th birthday, we hosted his party there and the event was an A++++++ all around. There are two birthday party options - one that opens up the science center to the kids and the second includes an activity center with options for having live animals or other stuff. We did the latter. The party was from 10:30-12:30 and we showed up just before 10am to set up. There were three (3) high school kids there to volunteer for the event, and they already set up the room and were ready to go. They helped me with bringing all of the party items and food, and were FANTASTIC with the kids doing activities during the party - decorating animal masks, exploring animal skills and fossil replicas. After about an hour of the activities, we migrated the kids to the science center while the volunteers cleaned up the activity center and we prepped the snacks. (We had pizza delivered and brought along carrots, chips, and cupcakes.)Super duper day! A HUGE thanks to Lily, Sara, and the volunteers for making the birthday party a super duper event!!!I cannot say enough wonderful things about the party and the center. Thank you!

This place is so small,it is boring. This place has a small amount of attractions and for only little kids. This place is more for a 5 year old than a 10 year old.I wish there is two sections, one for ages 3-9,and one for 10 and up.It is very weird that there is a trail that leads to a soccer field.I did enjoy some of the advanced science like the fan machine.

Not worth the price of admission!Staff: 1 starThe girl at the front desk was cheerful, but the rest of the staff was too busy visiting with one another to be bothered to explain anything to the children. I felt a definite attitude of, "Don't bother me. I'm busy hanging out here to earn my minimum wage."Exhibits: 1 starApparently, a trip of the local Home Depot was made before putting together the homemade exhibits. I thought the value to cost ratio was lacking greatly. The only bright side was that the kids in attendance were enjoying themselves. Luckily, children are often easily impressed.Cost: 1 starThe admission was greatly overpriced for what this place offered. I'm surprised it wasn't free given its location in the same building as a library.I was not impressed at all. I will not be returning with my family.

Explorit is an interesting place. We've had a membership for several years now and it is nice to come in with an older toddler to spend a day exploring. The exhibits change from time to time. They have a play room and an outdoor area with a giant sand pit (old pool filled with sand) as well as some animals -- bearded dragons, snakes, hissing roaches. There are drawing supplies if you feel inspired, as well as materials to make flying objects, airplanes, etc. Your kid is unlikely to want to spend every day there, but a visit once a month, would keep things fun and interesting.

It's pretty basic. You walk into a small house and they have some experiments in each room but they are very low budget. They have a few lizards and fossils as well. I appreciate it's there and the dedicated volunteers but it did not hold the attention of my 8 year old.

This is a nice home-grown museum. I would love to see it grow with more space and more exhibits. Beware of buying the membership. We tried to use Explorit ASTC membership at the Bay Area Discovery center (San Francisco children's museum) today but was denied any discount or included admission because ASTC network states that the Explorit center is not 90miles from the Bay Area Discovery museum. In other words, you cannot use it in any children's or science museum in the Bay Area because Davis is not more than 90 miles away (only 83 miles)
