Some of the costumes do remind me of spirit, party city and rubies. Pricey too. But nonetheless. I love going here for the experience of the historic mansion itself. It s an amazing experience seeing how big the 3 story building is. Always a delight to see

Honestly, what's not to love about Evangeline's? I've been coming here for gifts and just to look around while in Old Sac for years! It's a must when in the area! So many unique items - gag gifts, naughty gifts, a whole glow in the dark section, T-shirts, magnets, jewelry - you name it! They have a whole Hello Kitty section, a mushroom themed section and even an Alien themed section, just to name a few.You can find it all and so much more at Evangeline's - it's really an amazing store! I could spend so much time looking at every section and item. Most items are fairly priced, but as with most small businesses, a lot of stuff is sometimes on the pricy side.Don't even get me started on their incredible 3 store costume mansion that is now open year round! It's a must see as well! Staff is friendly and helpful! Check them out!

You're going to get lost in this store ! 3 floors of heaven. Make sure to feed the meter and set an alarm. So many options from masks to costumes. What's even better is the employees actually love their job!

My old review pretty much sums up my feelings about Evangeline's. One of the best shops in Old Sac. and in town! It's nice that the costume section is now open all year long instead of just during the Halloween season like they did in the distant past. It has been a few years since I have been back since my fiancée Joe K. had passed away. We both loved to dress up for Halloween, Sci fi/fantasy conventions and Yelp themed events. We had a lot of commonalities together. At first, I was a bit melancholy about entering the store, but this time, I came here with my sister to look for an outfit that she could wear for her grandchild's "Frozen" themed birthday party. We found a suitable dress that she seemed to like, but she didn't want to try it on first, thinking it was the correct size to fit her. However, it was a disappointment when she finally tried it on at home. First, it looked too big on her. The attached sashes were placed in an unflattering location on the dress, and all the glitter that was glued on, made a huge mess everywhere! Also, the long blonde wig that we had chosen in it's package, turned out to have grey streaks in it! Bad choices on both of our parts! Even though our shopping trip here didn't fulfill what her hopes were, I still have to give this business five stars, because our selections were not their fault. Evangeline's is still one of my favorite places to visit and to reminisce about the happy times Joe K and I shared together. Maybe, someday in the future, I'll have reasons to return and continue with new memories and a renewed enthusiasm...

This place is a staple here in Old Sac. The go to place for unique things and especially costumes and that is what we needed today. They have several floors of outfits and great stuff to look at and buy. We were going to a Disco party and needed some outfits. Some people go all out at these events so we didn't want to disappoint the crowd. I had called ahead and the girl said they had a lot of stuff for Disco on the third floor. My wife and I went up there and found lots of stuff. We picked out the ones we liked and tried them on it the dressing rooms. They are in the back. They fit but needed a little TLC. No problem since my wife can sew. We got the two outfits and we were the hit of the Disco Ball. Sweet. So many compliments on our outfits. The place to go for costumes and they were not too much money.

I always love visiting this store, during the waterfront Christmas light show, but warning it gets PACKED! They have some of the best unique gifts, that you won't find anywhere else. This is a great location to find a white elephant or funny gift for someone. Great prices too!

Best Costume shop in Sacramento area! Thousands of costumes! Props, accessories, rentals you name it, they have it! Staff is friendly, spooky and helpful. This place is more than a holiday stop, it's just fun! Also costumes last for yearssss! Great quality

Such a fun shop in Old Sacramento. They have so many different things. My favorite part is the little rave room with all the glow/black light things. Staff is always welcoming too

This establishment has been here for years. I remember coming here when I younger, high school. Trying not to age myself. I came here looking for a disco outfit for a disco themed event. You can purchase costumes year round. They have a wide variety of costumes. The sections of the store are themed, making it easier to look for things. Evangeline's has a gift shop 1st floor with unique items. Costumes are on the second floor and up. The staff are nice. Parking sometimes is street metered parking. Maybe difficult at times, when old Sac is busy.
