Elixir Bar & Grill

During my rare visits to the downtown/midtown area, I have often passed Elixir Bar & Grill and noted that I would check it out when the opportunity presented itself. That opportunity presented itself when a friend and I wanted to grab a quick drink prior to visiting the neighboring Roc & Sol Diner (which I highly recommend!) for an event. Upon walking in, I was warmly greeted by bartender Ben (that has a nice ring to it) and situated myself at an indoor table before approaching the bar to place an order. While waiting for my friend to arrive, I sipped on my refreshing margarita and was able to immerse myself into a good novel (it was still fairly quiet in the bar being that it was a late afternoon on a Wednesday).Although the bar area was somewhat busier when my friend arrived, the bartender made sure that he promptly acknowledged her and she was able to effortlessly order her drink. On our way out, we observed the outdoor area that would make for an epic friend group meetup with drinks + board games. Thank you Elixir Bar & Grill!

First thing to know is this is a dive bar...period, so my review is based on that fact, it's dirty, old, and shady. But if you're a dive bar fan, you'll give this place a 5!!! Bartenders, awful, order a beer or a shot. Food is greasy but yummy. I true dive bar gem! Don't change a thing unless you don't want to be a dive bar.

I was going bar hopping with my gf and we stumbled upon elixir. They have a photobooth here and skeeball!! The photobooth costs $5 and takes Apple Pay! The bartender was extremely friendly. He acknowledged us right when we came in and greeted us on our way out. I'm not a huge fan of the taste of alcohol and I let the bartender know this and he made me a delicious drink. This place is a little bit run down but a great bar to be at if you want a quieter chill vibe.

Small, out of the way, and kind of run down is how I would describe Elixir. It's not for the Range Rover crowd, but that's part of it's appeal. It's the kind of bar where you can drink, be loud, and smoke (outside of course). The bartenders are down to earth and usually have a game on the TV. They don't mind chatting with customers about sports, beer, or joking around with regulars. I like the crowd. They can be colorful, but are all good people. They are out for fun, and can be rowdy, but seem to get along with everyone.

This Michelin star restaurants hosts a litinity of fine dining options. Monsieur Pow greets you with a twinkle in his eye, and a smile on his face. The fine craft cocktails are a hit! The candlelight dining makes for such a romantic date night! I'd recommend to anyone looking for a hide away cafe!

Great spot. A hidden gem in Sacramento. From time to time you'll see who's who of Sacramento hanging out in this hole in the wall dive bar which brings it its charm. The burgers are on point and the pint night Wednesday is just another reason to go. Service is great. Steve usually runs the bar on Wednesdays and can handle the kickball league with very little wait time for your food and drinks. One of the better spots to spend your money and time

A friend and I were making plans to grab drinks and took to yelp to find a cute dive bar that had TV's. We found what we were looking for and much more with Elixir! It's small inside the place with a good size outdoor area. They have a skee-ball machine and I think I saw one or two arcade games as well. We had them put on the sharks game for us without having to ask multiple times like some places. FOOD: Thai wings (5 Stars) - never had a better bite of bar food. these wings were everything you want when drinking. loved them. Garlic fries (3 stars) - kinda plain due to them not being salted. definitely needed seasoning. Bartenders here were sooooo attentive and friendly and just all of the nice lovely things you could want. Music selection was a mix of different genres of rock. Toward the end of our visit they started playing like super hardcore scream rock which I myself can enjoy, but my bf and friend were just like no thanks haha. I'm positive we'll come back for the affordable drinks, great atmosphere and wonderful bartenders.

I love this place. The BEST burger in Sac. And the staff and crowd is a delight. Highly recommend.

This place use to have the BEST burgers. Moved out of Sac 7 years ago and came back recently and was craving a Royal Burger from Elixir, went in and saw that they only had a smash burger option now and it was very basic. Sad to see the classic burgers are gone, but the vibe and environment are still the same which is nice.

Phenomenal dive bar. Depending on the time of day you can take your grandma, best friend, or date. Relaxed vibes with TouchTunes juke box and bartenders who get your drinks in a timely manner. My preferred nights would be Wednesday and Friday, don't miss out on the delicious burgers and appetizers you won't regret it. Easily best bar in Sac-town.
