Found this place while driving back from doing a hike. The place looked very fancy but since there's a bar we decided to give it a try although we were underdressed. We sat at the bar and were taken care of just perfectly. My husband likes beer on draft and we were told that's on the way to be available soon so we settled for a few cocktails. We ordered three appetizers and split an entree. The kitchen also split our appetizers so the presentation was great. The design and ambiance of the place is elegant and refined. A nice date place id come back to soon. Our bill came to two hundred inc tip.

Elegant Ambiance, Great Cocktails, but Some Service & Consistency IssuesWe were excited when Eldo Chophouse opened in our neighborhood and visited during their first week. The restaurant is beautifully designed, with an elegant ambiance that immediately sets the tone for a great dining experience. Since it was a soft opening, we didn't expect perfection and were willing to give them some grace. Cocktails were fantastic--especially the Old Fashioned--and the food was delicious.**A Return Visit - A Mixed Experience: We returned for a friend's birthday celebration and dined in their small private room. The place was packed, which was a great sign. Our group of eight (four couples) went all in--we ordered nearly everything on the menu and enjoyed several rounds of cocktails throughout the night.**Key observations: - Appetizers remained consistently delicious--no complaints there.- Entrées were hit or miss--some were crowd favorites, while others were just okay. One situation stood out that left a bad taste in my mouth. I asked our host about the appetizer lamb chops, intending to order them as my meal since we had already indulged in so many appetizers. She insisted they were very small and recommended I order two portions. Trusting her advice, I did--only to be served two large servings. I was embarrassed in front of my group because it was way more food than I wanted. Given how tiny I am, it felt like an opportunistic upsell rather than genuine guidance--which was disappointing, considering we were already ordering generously.**Another odd detail: We ordered Old Fashioneds all night, but as the evening progressed, the presentation kept changing--the trimming disappeared, and the glass & ice changed, making the drinks inconsistent.**Final Thoughts... The ambiance is top-notch, cocktails (when made correctly) are great, and appetizers are consistently solid. However, service needs improvement--especially in terms of customer care and consistency. While I'd return, I hope they refine these details to truly elevate the experience.

4.5 starsEldo is tucked to the side of the Raley's shopping center and I was pleasantly surprised at how once you step in, you'd never know you were in the middle of suburbia. The elevated decor was a wonderful addition to our Valentine's weekend but I will say the tables for two are on the small side. Ya girl likes to EAT and we had to juggle plates.Reservations are available on Open Table, but it wasn't busy when we came in for dinner. Service was fine and timely.Grilled Octopus - deliciousBeet Salad - if they doubled the portion, I would've loved itRib Eye + side options - awesomeWe would love to come back during lunch and order the Ranch Platter. It's such a good deal but at 7pm we did not have room for all that food.

Beautiful ambiance. Light wood with accents of black and brass. I love the dark blue chairs mixed with the olive green. Bar is high ceiling and well lit. Nice warm and attentive service. We ordered the hot rolls with truffle butter and flakey salt. It's a great appeteaser. Warm and salty and looks pretty too. Tried the octopus. The smaller pieces are chewy but the bigger piece was flakey and tender. I LOVED the sauces. It was mole, a creme fraiche/ sour cream dallop, and another of a green tomatillo verde sauce. That mixed together with the pickled red onions was so nice. Should've saved the hot rolls to dip. Nigiri was delicious. Unfortunately I had to share with the fam so I can't comment on the tuna or hamachi but the salmon was buttery and fresh. The rice was not that crispy though bc it sits on a soy ponzu sauce. Came out chewier than crispy. Steaks were nice. The ribeye has that marbleized fat. Cooking was a little uneven between rare and medium on our piece. Chimi needs more acid, I thought the truffle butter was going to be more of a sauce but it's a spoon of hard butter that would've melted on the steak but I asked for it on the side. The peppercorn sauce was the nicest and favorite for sure. The mashed potatoes and the scalloped were delicious. Creamy and well seasoned. BD and kiddo enjoyed the apple and pear crumble. It's a warm and rich dessert. Really nice and delicious. But I preferred the other dessert which is the butter cake. I liked that it could've just been soft and creamy but they added a crunch factor. I liked that it could've just been sweet and rich and one note but they added some tart a** blood oranges to cut it. Texture of the butter cake was lovely! Black truffle is not for me. I try it every few years hoping I would but I don't. I didn't like it on the roll, or in my butter. And I can eat some funky things but it's just not my jam and unfortunately I was reminded of that here. We would come back to try the seafood but it will be a while. $307 with a 20 percent tip.

My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at ELDO Chophouse in El Dorado Hills, and it was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a perfect blend of upscale sophistication and comfort. For our meal, we ordered the halibut and a steak, and both dishes were cooked to absolute perfection. The halibut was tender, flaky, and beautifully seasoned, with a sauce that complemented the fish without overpowering it. As for the steak--wow! It was perfectly cooked to our requested temperature, with a seared crust that locked in all the rich, juicy flavor. The service was outstanding, too. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed. If you're looking for a high-quality dining experience in the El Dorado Hills area, ELDO Chophouse is the place to go. We'll definitely be back to explore more of their menu!

We've been hearing a ton about this new spot and had to come check it out for ourselves! My husband and I came on a Sunday night and sat at the bar. The host immediately dropped off menus to us and let us know that the bartender would be right with us. Very quickly, we were greeted and asked if we'd like water to start. We were given some cocktail recommendations as well, and I decided to try the "Bottle Service" which was DELICIOUS and BEAUTIFULLY presented. We tried several appetizers and salads, and all were great -- hamachi crudo was probably our favorite. We shared the Black Cod entree, which was light, flavorful, and again, pretty!! For dessert we tried the butter cake (recommended by the bartender) with homemade pistachio ice cream. SO GOOD.Needless to say, we left FULL, happy, and just the right amount of tipsy. We will be back to try more of the menu for sure!!

I was super excited to try this place! Great location!Space: I love the renovations they made, the space feels super updates, clean, and classy. Love all the finishes they chose. Great ambiance! We were sat in the dining room to the side of the bar, which had great lighting and ambiance. However, the dining room gets extremely loud once it fills up and makes having a decent conversation with your party kind of hard. Also, the 2 seater tables are really close to one another, and I hate that. Makes it really uncomfortable and like your dining with the complete strangers next to you, makes having a convo with your partner awkward. Also, the 2 seater tables are tiny, which I always hate too. Because once you order anything, you're out of space and don't know where to put anything. We ordered a couple appetizers and they didn't know where to place them on the table. Why do restaurants do that? Save the tiny tables for the bar area, not a dining area where you need space for plating. Staff/service:Staff was just ok. I would say this was my least favorite part of the dinner. Just didn't feel warm, welcoming, or friendly. Gave bare minimum as far as engagement and friendliness. Brunette hostess was very off putting to be honest. No smile and did not give off a welcoming or genuine vibe. The hostess & your first interaction can either make or break your experience because it sets the tone for the rest of your evening, and she certainly did. None of the food runners smiled when delivering food, or responded when we would say thank you. Overall, the air of the staff would be the one thing holding me back from coming back here.Drinks:The drinks were great! Loved the creative options & presentation!Food: Food tasted great! Highly recommend getting the chicken and cornbread appetizer, it was the best thing we had that night! Incredible! Skip the wedge salad, was not a fan, had a sour vinaigrette and I'd prefer a more classic wedge option. Ordered the burger for the main and my fries came with truffle, even though I requested plain. The server asked if that was okay and I said that was fine because I didn't not want to wait for a new set to come out while my friend already ate hers. What I didn't like is that she charged me for that on the bill. If it wasn't requested and was your mistake, you shouldn't be charging your options for that mistake.Burger tasted great but the bun gets way too soggy and starts to fall apart on you in 5 minutes. The pear and apply cobbler for dessert was good. Wouldn't order again cuz it's pretty basic but their other options didn't sound good either.Overall I would definitely come back! But if the service is just as lackluster and ingenuine next time, I probably wouldn't be back.
