El Sombrero Taqueria

Met up with my girlfriend I haven't seen and forever, for a lunch date. This place is tucked on the side, so its kind if hidden. My GPS was taking me all over the place. Luckily it was worth it! Food was extra Hot and good , promptly served and came with chips and salsa. Since Chips & Salsa is a staple in Hispanic culture it is very important to be included in the price and not being charged anything extra for it. I chose the 2 item plate Chili Relleno and Pollo asafoetida. FYI this location is near Kaiser Roseville, so when we came it was packed.

Dear Lord is this a terrible place. I paid $10 for a chicken quesadilla. What did I get? Maybe $1 in ingredients. $10 for this? Terrible.

Called in and placed an order for some coworkers and myself. Service was pretty fast, 30 minutes wait and food was delicious!! Definitely check them out :) *Bilingual and friendly*

I dropped by for an impromptu dinner with family. We had worked up an appetite searching for a lost item (didn't find it).I chose the chile verde plate - it was very good, some of the best I've ever had. Plenty of depth of flavor and the pork was super tender. I really enjoyed the beans as well... great taste and creamy.The surprise of the night (for us) was a couple of gentlemen who were there playing authentic Mexican music... what fun! I have no idea how regularly they play, but seriously they were good. They put out much more sound then you'd normally expect from two people - mainly because one of the men was playing a high end digital synthesizer accordion - and he was playing it well - AND it appeared that he was blind! Wow! Very impressive.

Food has zero flavor. Chips taste store bought beans seem like in a can. Food has no taste it's really bad I paid 25 bucks for tasteless food.

Super DELICIOUS food! They have a lot of food options. The carnitas was very flavorful and not greasy at all. The beans and rice were tasty and authentic. They have a chips and salsa bar with good options. Salsa has a lot of flavor and not a whole lot of kick, which I appreciate. Chips are sturdy, crispy, and not greasy. SERVICE: We were greeting upon entering. You order at the counter and they'll give you a number and bring your food to you. You pick your own table and they don't service your table but they are very friendly. ALCOHOL: They have a few options of bottled beers (Corona, Modelo, Bohemia, etc) along with 5 or so beers on-tap. They also offer wine based cocktails that are tasty and worth it. They have a bar area which we may have to sit at during our next visit. PARKING: They share a parking lot with a few other businesses but there are a lot of spots so you shouldn't have any issues finding a spot. We will definitely be back and I understand why this place is our friend's favorite spot.

I dropped my 17 year old off for her soccer game and had to get some breakfast while they practiced prior to their game. I wouldn't have ever found this place if it wasn't for the game and Yelp.... Thank goodness I found it!Breakfast was muy delicioso! The cashier was friendly and helpful, and the food; I just can't stop thinking about how good it is! The place is set up like a typical strip mall taqueria, it's nicely decorated and clean...The salsa bar offers three options, two red and one green as well peppers, radishes, limon, etc. it sounds kind of limited, but because it tastes so good, the variety offered hits the spot. I'll be back with the whole family for sure!

Loved the tacos! They also offer free chips as well along with your purchase which I absolutely love! Not to mention the sauce bar too, not many places have it and offer all the variety in my opinion. This place reminds me of one of my favorite taco places back in my hometown, so I was glad I found this location.

I'm really torn about this review because they were nice, the food tasted good overall, and they have a nice selection. However, I found non-food in my food. Specifically I found 3 long strange orange stringy things that were quite tough. I read through every negative review and did not find anyone else with this issue, so I'm hoping it's a fluke. I had the taco salad and perhaps the shredded lettuce had it in it when it was shredded? But before that the taco salad was nice. I was a bit concerned about 3 things though: the bathroom was very dirty, the chip bar was a mess with different ingredients scattered in other locations, and the cashier touched the same spoon handles as the cook without washing her hands. All in all, this has turned me off from returning.

We had another wonderful dinner at El Sombrero. The tostadas are second-to-none. The owners and all the employees are all so nice and welcoming.
