El Dorado Dance Academy

What a beautiful space for dance for all individuals young and old. My daughter and I attend El Dorado Dance Academy for their baby ballet classes and it's just a lovely environment to teach the principles of dance, importance of body movement, self-confidence and a safe space to meet new friends. The staff are very friendly and personable also. Parking can be a bit tricky during peak hours but the studio is located in a business park with lots of parking. My daughter and I love the baby ballet with parental participation class. It's a great class for me to bond with her and have Miss Michelle teach her the basic movements of dance (first, second positions), how to feel comfortable moving across the floor, using her imagination, meeting new friends and also getting out of the house! I hope they open up the hip-hop classes for my son on Saturdays (he watches his little sister and mentions how he wants to do hip-hop soon). I look forward to bringing my kids here and recommending this place to others. Thank you!

We did not have a good experience here, at all. There was ZERO communication with parents. I called the day before to confirm our start day and it wasn't until then I was informed there is a mandatory uniform. No emails saying "welcome to dance, here's what you need to know..." nothing saying "reminder no class this week." I don't even know her teachers name because it was never communicated. The teacher did not seem to have any instinct on how to speak with 3 and 4 year olds. All their silly stories and statements were mostly met with a "that's nice." Nothing to foster their ideas or engage with them. Maybe that is just dance and it's not for us, more strict and serious? Not a silly activity. We won't be signing up again, and they probably won't care because they did not one single thing to ensure kids/parents were having a good experience.

If you are looking for a positive dance environment, THIS IS IT! All of the instructors and families are so incredibly supportive and kind. My young ballerina is so incredibly happy here!!

This place is absolutely amazing. Wonderful teachers, positive energy, kindness everywhere... just a really outstanding place. Soooo glad we found them!!

Spring floors to reduce possibility of injury. Teachers (especially Miss Katherine) are energized, cultivating & fun. Staff (especially miss Debi, the owner, & Miss Sarah, the office manager are always helpful and terrific teachers. Now with EDDA north the drive across town to south studio will help with drive time--can't wait! Best recital EVER! Always a very professional show. I accidentally posted in the not recommended area. I hope by this review you can see I highly recommend EDDA!!

Now, I've only attended two classes here at the dance academy, but the two times I went was really fun. I took an adult Lyrical/Contemporary class with Jake Fritz, but unfortunately there was not enough enrollment to keep the class going for the whole year. I've been wanting to do dance for most of my life but never found the guts to do it. I called the studio up and Zach, who often works the front desk, was great about letting me know what to expect, how to sign up, and all the other small details that someone nervous would want to know. I thoroughly enjoyed the two classes I got to attend, but I unfortunately couldn't make any of the other appealing classes work with my schedule that involves work and taking my kids to their own extracurricular activities and everything. When I do find some time, however, I hope that I can come back and enroll in a class for a whole year!

My step daughter loved it here!!!! Really built her confidence and the performances are beautiful!!

This place is awesome. Best dance place we've found in the Folsom/EDH area. Very friendly staff and teachers. It's a very warm place. I think the focus is on fun versus drills and drills and drills. And all the teachers are super excited and energetic. My 6-year old daughter looks forward to both her classes every week. I can't say the same when we were at the other EDH dance studio. We parents love it because they put together a finished dance each month. So they practice all the moves and techniques for 4 sessions and at the end, we get to see a finished performance. And then it's off to another choreography. Very fun to watch and keeps the kids motivated. Highly recommended.

Let's be REAL this place has terrible dance technique and the teachers really never made it far as dancers. Their teams don't do well at dance competitions and if you want your students to make it far as a dancer. Don't take them here where their teachers can't demonstrate or teach correct technique. Not to mention they are all about then numbers game versus the individual. Plus the studios are on the small side and their facility is cramped. I think a lot of people think this place is the only gig in town because if it's name.
