Edwin Z' BERG Park is located in The Pocket/Greenhaven community of South Sacramento. It is part of the City of Sacramento Parks and Recreation District. I'm not sure when the park was built but if the park sign is any indication of when the park was built, it was a while back. This park is hidden in a secluded neighborhood . Only local residence are aware of the location of this park. The park was named after Edwin Z'Berg whom was once our Attorney General and became a Democratic member of the California State Assembly(4th) district. Edwin Z'Berg passed away while in office. But while in office, Mr. Z Berg promoted environmental legislation . Some being " Tahoe Preservation Forest Act, and "Tahoe Regional Planning agency". A state park was established in his name, "Edwin Z. Berg Sugar Pine Point State Park" located in Lake Tahoe.Even though the park is fairly old, it still has a lot to offer for local residence to enjoy. The park is 2.75 acres in size. It has a fairly large open space area for soccer, a shaded picnic area with BBQ, a full basketball court, an adventure play area, a tot play area, and a 0.25 mile walking/jogging trail. Neighbors tell me the park is visited by 15 turkeys quite often . I would return to this park just to see the turkeys !
