Ed Soliven

This was truly a treat for a special occasion. Who'd have thought to have a private sushi catered dinner party? But that's what Ed Solivan does! Heard about Ed Soliven through my hairdresser of course. She knows everyone and every great foodie tip a girl could ask for. She'd been to a dinner here locally in Reno and the host hired Ed Solivan for this amazing experience. After seeing g get photos and hearing her raves about the experience I knew this was exactly what I was looking for when I had decided to host some very good friends engagement party. They'd been together for 20 years at this point and decided finally to make it official! Anyways I contacted Ed and everything was seemless from the get go. He's based out of Sacramento but it was nothing at all for his team to drive to Reno for this special event. We had the use of a very nice clubhouse and his team showed up on time, prepared, and hit the ground running. The dishes that were served were just outstanding and our sushi chef was full of personality and professionalism. Everyone was blown away and there was so much to eat. No one left hungry. Our guests of honor were thrilled as were all the gang from the OC that showed up. I highly recommend this company and experience. Bravo Ed !!

One of the besties birthdays and we had the pleasure to have this experience. The chef arrived promptly. He was very professional and personable.We had a different dish after dish from 5pm til weee hours of the night on a Saturday night..the food and presentation was superb. Everything was delicious!Definitely recommend for that sushi at home experience!!

All you could eat Sushi!!! Attended one of Ed's Unique in-home Private Sushi Experience at our friends house Summer 2018. And what an experience it was! Totally blown away by his sushi skills and knowledge. He is so charming and personable. Enjoyed the tastiest ceviche with root veggie chips. BBQ Ribs-outstanding, sushi rolls 9 feet long, scallop shooters & so much more. We gorged till 3am!! So get your family & friends together turn on some music and get ready to Party. You're in for a night you will never forget! That's why he's scheduled out months in advance. Call him, tell him what you like, don't like make it happen!

Ed is the consummate professional! He always arrives on time and the dining experience he provides goes above and beyond anything you could imagine. I have been a fan of Ed for years. As I have followed his career as a chef through several different sushi joints he always had something awesome waiting for me. I have seen him constantly grow and push the bar higher and higher. Since reuniting with him about a year ago I have hired him twice to do sushi events at my house. Both events were amazing and also very different. Every time you dine with Ed it is an adventure. Some of my guests called it "food Heaven" which it truly is. Not only do you get stunning dishes, you get an amazing show as Ed prepares fresh sushi and seafood over several hours right in the comfort of your own home. From sashimi and oysters to ribs and ceviche, and if your lucky a special surprise or two, you will literally feel like your on life styles of the rich and famous when dining with Ed. You will never get an experience like this, for the price he charges, at any restaurant ever!!If you haven't already booked your first sushi event with Ed stop reading this right now, pick a date and call Ed!

He's THE MAN!! Great food and great entertainment, the value was incredible. Would do it again and again, we love Ed!!

To much fun! Ed is incredibly professional, personable, and organized. Not to mention creative at what he does. We booked him for my 35 birthday, ended up having a lot more people than expected. Ed rolled with it and had plenty of food for everyone. He adapted well with the rowdy crew. Everyone had a great time.Since then we have had Ed come back out to do a more intimate dinner for 6. This time it was a lot more personal. Which was awesome to get to know the him more and discuss the food we were enjoying. The guy was amazing in both settings from wild party to small dinner party. We now have booked Ed a 3rd time for my girlfriends birthday. I highly recommend this man. You will not be disappointed.

Make sure to read all the RECENT reviews about poor communication. They are SO true. Our friends booked for a party, and we were impressed with the food. Since then, have tried to book our own several times and it's been like pulling teeth to get a response. Most of the time there is ZERO response. A week or more will go by with no response. Totally unprofessional. Not like dealing with a normal business.

Ed is AMAZING!!! The food is incredible!! Ed has a great variety of food, and he is very good about taking care of special food needs. Ed helps make the party fun!!

We tried to use Ed for a retirement catering but communication was very poor. Amongst other communication issues, Ed asked us to be "as specific as possible" regarding what we liked which we did but ended up getting a generic menu. In the end we just felt like he wasn't engaged and didn't want our business.
