I've tried this place twice and both times it was amazing. This last time I tried the wonton soup and it was fire. The service is always friendly and quick. The restaurant itself and is small and cozy, very clean and a great spot for good food.

This is probably the best little restaurant in the neighborhood with a very nice menu, tasty food and great service usually the one young, man who seems to be always there (maybe the owner?) We live only about 1/2 mile from the shopping center so it could not be more convenient and it is located very close to a Nugget Market, Petco, a very good shipping/mailing store, and Msrshall's.The server is very knowledgeable and does a great job describing and suggesting menu items. We have been here about four or five times and have always found it very satisfying.

Stopped by on the drive back to San Francisco from Lake Tahoe! It's a pretty simple sit-down restaurant in the Greenhaven plaza. I loved the beef rolls, which were crunchy, sweet, and good portion of beef. Another must-get are the scallion noodles! Noodles have a good chew and the oil has a balance of umami from garlic, dried shrimp, and scallion. The pan-fried pork buns came out not as crispy as I would have liked. The filling for the pork buns, wontons, and soup dumplings were seasoned perfectly. Food came out quickly, but the restaurant seemed to be understaffed as it took a while for us to get our water refilled and napkins. However, our waiter was happy to split the bill for our table in two.

Came here with family as we were craving some beef noodle soup. They were voted on Yelp as #3 in the top 100 Chinese restaurants in 2024. Growing up in the heart of the SGV in LA, there is a plethora of Chinese restaurants so let's give this a try. It's in a random shopping plaza and can be easy to miss. It's tucked in between a Subway and an L&L.Small dining area so had to put our name down on the sign-in sheet. The wait wasn't terribly long. Maybe 10-15 mins with some larger parties finishing up.We ordered a variety of items:- Pork soup-filled dumplings or xiao long bao. Nice size, a good amount of pork and soupier than most I've had. The dough held it all nicely. Comparable to others I've had.- Wonton in chili oil. Decent in size. I added more of the chili oil condiment on the table. I was looking for more spice.- Beef roll. Very hefty in size. Nice flaky crust to hold in the beef, onions, scallions and cucumbers. Didn't quite taste the sauce so I drenched each bite with the chili oil condiment.- Beef noodle soup. I only tried the broth and it had flavor. Looked enjoyable nonetheless.- Braised pork rice bowl. This was very hearty. The pork was definitely braised for a long time and was bursting with flavor. The rice soaked up all the sauce.- Scallion oil noodles. I originally wanted the cold noodles with shredded chicken, but they were out or perhaps the server said it was seasonal? He recommended the scallion oil noodles as something similar. This was okay. It's noodles cooked in scallions and oil. Again, drenched it with the chili oil for more flavor.I'm no connoisseur in ranking, but I've definitely been to better hole-in-the-wall places and regular establishments with slightly better dumplings and noodles. Food is okay here. If in or around the area, I'd try it.

Made a pitstop here on the way back to the bay. Conveniently located in a plaza right off the freeway. Came in right before lunch time, 1130ish which was a good call cause it got busy just after we ordered our food. Apparently you can make reservations ahead of time but we came as a walk in party of 6.Ordered:Cucumber salad - refreshing, could be a bit crunchier Shanghai noodles - yummy! I love udon noodles so these were right up my alley Dumplings in chili oil - always a must! Had a bunch of pieces so a good plate to share Pan fried shrimp and pork dumplings - I really liked the crispy bottom. There's a soup inside so be careful when biting in to it and give it some time to cool down but texture wise, I really liked having the crispy bottom House spicy fried rice - didn't really get a kick from it but it had a lot going on but in a good way. Chinese sausage, corn, peas, shrimp, everything!Dry fried green beans - I always love a good green bean! Crunchy, good shareable plate, had bits of chicken. Dipped it with the chili oil for an extra kick Beef soup - beef was tender, soup was SO flavorful, had lots of noodles, and the bok choy for veggies. Would recommend!Pork soup dumplings - came with 8 pieces and they give the sauce on the side. Be careful when picking it up as the bottoms tend to break. I like to bite the top, add the sauce and some chili sauce. They have a one person stall. There's tons of parking. Service was quick and friendly. They came by the table to check in. Would definitely come back!

I can't believe I haven't tried this place before! I see why they're in the top 100 Chinese foods for Sacramento. The hype was worth it. As you're waiting outside, you can read the reviews from other websites and Yelpers who've been here.First off, the service? Amazing. Our server was super nice and polite and solo-ed the entire restaurant by himself it was insane and impressive to watch. He took care of us, everyone else, and the take-outs all by himself. Despite that, he was still super nice and attentive to the guests in the restaurant.Shanghai Fried Noodles - HIGHLY RECOMMEND! They were a perfect combination of sweet and savory, super thick and chewy, and were the perfect noodles for me. My favorite during the mealShrimp and Pork Soup Dumplings - As sweet as you'd expect. You get 8 with a perfect amount of soup in them. I found these quite easy to eat as they come out hot, but cool down at a good rate so you'd be able to enjoy them hot without burning yourself.Pork Pan Fried Bun - Huge dumpling with a generous amount of meat. You get the crispy bottom and super juicy inside. Wonton in Chili Oil - Very flavorful, but would be my #4 out of all our orders. But only because the rest surpassed my expectations so much.Would I come back here? Yes. Am I craving that Shanghai noodle? Also yes. Highly recommend going if you're a party of 2-4 people. As I'm posting this review, I realized I got so excited to eat I forgot to take pictures of the other dishes. Oops!

We were looking for places to eat before our comedy show at thunder valley casino. I found this place and decided to try it out. We haven't have dumplings in a while due to being on a health kick but today is our cheat day!We got here at 4:25 pm. I didn't think we would get here early coming from Concord. They reopen at 4:40 it said online. They had the closed sign so we waited.. and waited. It was now 4:35 and we were like are they closed? We looked inside through the window and saw a couple seated. We opened the doors and were told to have a seat anywhere. The guy walked over to turn the sign over. I explained to him I had made a reservation on yelp because I did not know if they get super busy. He said yelp reservations DO NOT WORK.. Just a FYI! I try not to eat pork anymore, but we ended up ordering the pork soup dumplings, beef roll, and spicy beef soup. He suggested the green beans. We ordered them because we thought the dumplings would be small like the other places we have been too. Green beans: They still had some crunch and came with bits of chicken. The chicken was a little on the salty side (for me) I don't do a lot of salt. BUT it was still really good. The sauce was really good.Pork soup dumplings: These were larger than the ones we get in the Bay Area! We ended up ordersing two orders because we thought they would be small. They were good size and had a lot of soup in them. Only thing is we broke most of them trying to pick them up. The were still delicious. Spicy beef soup: we asked them not to make it spicy because the person I was with can not eat spicy stuff. It was delicious not too salty either. At this time I'm stuffed but not the gross I ate too much bloated stuffed. Most dumpling places we have ate at after we eat the beef rolls and dumplings we feel so stuffed and bloated! Her we didn't feel that. We just knew we had a lot. The guy explained how to reheat the beef rolls! Those are MASSIVE! We ended up sharing one to try it. That beef roll was bomb! The outside is so flaky and the cucumber salad or whatever they used inside tasted fresh and so flavorful. All in all everything was delicious we will definitely come back when we come to the shows at thunder valley. We didn't realize how far out it was to thunder valley but it was okay we had time to kill. The place is smalll but the food is really good .Don't do the yelp reservation it does not work.

So this time around I tried the following:1) house special fried rice with house chili sauce. The chili sauce is simply their chili oil blended in the rice. Their fried rice is still excellent but also still full of barely cooked white onions. Even though I like onions I still had to pick them out.2) shrimp and pork xlb. These are still just okay. Uneven in size and the pork reminds me of pork sausage.3) beef rolls these are a hit. Flakey crispy wrap of beef, cucumber and hoisin sauce delicious.Dumpling Yo doesn't get me excited like JTD but they are good.

The pork & shrimp dumplings are a must if it's your first time here. It's what "Dumpling Yo" is known for! Served on a bamboo steamer, these little bite-sized dumplings have a flavorful broth filling that you would slurp up before eating the dumpling! It's super delish!!I'd also recommend the beef rolls. Slices of beef wrapped in a scallion pancake with fresh daikon and cucumbers. Not sure if it's supposed to be served cold, but it would be more enjoyable if the pancakes were still hot! Located in the Greenhaven area, in the Nugget plaza right off the I5 freeway.

We saw that Dumpling Yo was voted one of the top Chinese restaurants in the US, and happened to be in the area. So without any hestiation we gave it a try.The shop was easy to find in a strip mall and the parking was easy. We were surprised there was no line and the staff quickly seated us and took our order. Everything was quite efficient. We ordered the Pork soup dumplings, pan fried pork buns, smashed cucumber salad and Braised beef soup noodles. Overall, we liked the food. We quickly noticed their dumplings had a strong white pepper taste which my husband really likes (he likes white pepper though). I was on the fence since I like my soup dumplings to have a mellow clean broth. A few of them broke as we tried to seperate them from each other and it's always the bummer because we missed out the broth. The beef noodle soup was pretty good as the flavor was good and the meat was soft. I personally wish the broth was a bit richer and the meat was fall apart tender, but that's what I expected from growing up eatting beef noodle soup in Taiwan tho.Overall, I would say Dumpling Yo is a solid Chinese restaurant that offers a lot of delicious food. However, being rated top 3 in the nation is a huge burden and I think it would create some unrealistic expectations for some foodies out there. If you are in the neighborhood, why not give it a try yourself!
