Loved the Christmas light experience! You can walk or drive through the neighborhood. My kids eyes shined bright with the glow of all the displays. It was hard to pick just one favorite! I loved all the displays. It can be very busy be careful, be safe, and have fun!

Dovewood Court is a must every year! We usually get lucky with parking close by but you can also park at the church parking lot with a cash donation. This location is a court so it's not the easiest to drive in, I would recommend walking it because it's pretty short, 20 minutes at most, so it's doable if it's cold, but also not too short that it's not worth getting out of the car. Sometimes there are people selling hot drinks if it's a busy night too. Over time I've found some better spots that are more worth the drive for us, but this is a good one if you live nearby already.

Usually very nice lights, we've came before when my kids were smaller. We drove 30 mins since it said they're open here on yelp and google but once we parked on the side of a road, walked over, the security guy said they open dec 8. So in two more days.

Such a cute court with each house decorated with different themed Christmas decorations. A fun little tradition for our looking at Christmas lights nights. For a small donation you can park in the church parking lot right near the court. Bring your hot cocoa , bundle up and enjoy the holiday lights.

Dovewood Court is a great place to walk around and see Christmas lights, especially for little kids. What makes Dovewood Court better than the Fab 40s for small children is the fact that there's not very far to walk. In fact, the walk from your car to the Christmas lights will probably be longer than the walk around the court.Even though I thought Ledgemont Court in Folsom was better this year, I still think Dovewood Court deserves five stars, too.It does get VERY crowded, and, if you're driving through, the line moves extremely slow, but, in my opinion, it's worth the wait.I've been here many times over the years, with many different people. My first time might have been 2013ish, with an ex-boyfriend who used to live right around the corner. After he showed this place to me, I brought my daughter, and it became a tradition for us. We've gone almost every year since then, often more than once. Our favorite way to walk around Dovewood Court is with a cup of hot chocolate (to keep our hands warm). We usually either bring our own thermoses, or stop by Starbucks, but there are also hot chocolate (and jerkey) stands close to the lights during busy hours. The other day, as we walked around, my friend asked, "Is this in their HOA that they have to decorate their houses like this?""I don't know... probably." Our other friend, who hadn't been to Dovewood Court since her kids were little, was so excited that she had run off to take pictures on her own. Some of the houses are more decked out than others, but they all participate to some degree. My favorite house is usually either the one with cages decorated with lights set to music, or the house that usually decorates the inside of their garage, although neither of those features were present this year. While the owners probably spend hundreds of dollars each on all of the electricity required to fuel their displays, they do not accept cash donations. Instead, there are bins for visitors to leave canned food items to donate to the local food bank.Overall, this is one of my favorite places in the greater Sacramento area to walk around and see the Christmas lights!

Amazing walkable Christmas light location. Been coming here for 15 years, and it's always a highlight of the holiday season. Light setups change every year, so it's very unique. Many homemade decorations showcasing lots of skill in their Christmas prep. Parking can be tough, and it's extremely packed most times on the road so walking is best. Great work to all the homeowners!!If you're interested in local reviews or travel content you can find us on most socials @SunseTourist

Great Christmas spirit in this neighborhood! Bring a canned food item for donation. A great drive through if you're patient or park at nearby church lot and walk.

Fun little trip. There's a church near by that lets you park for a monetary donation of your choice that includes hot chocolate. It's about 15-20 minute walk around the court but is just enough time if you have busy body toddlers.

Been going here every year for 40 years. I now have a son I get to continue the tradition with. This is one of a handful of events Orangevale has. As someone who's born and raised OV...please be appreciative and respectful to the homeowners and visitors so this treasure can last 40 years for my grandchildren. Bring a can if you can. They have a food drive every year!
