DOCO

Checked out the block party at Doco downtown Sacramento recently, and let me tell ya, it was absolutely awesome. Local businesses pitched in to sponsor the whole event, which was such a cool community vibe. Everything was *free*--yep, you heard that right. They had tons of activities for kids; super interactive and fun. There was even a petting zoo, which the little ones went crazy for (in a good way). But wait--it gets even better. After all the fun at the block party, they had King's Day! If you're a Sacramento Kings fan, you could get free tickets in advance to enter the arena, which was such an epic way to end the day. Oh, and did I mention? Food trucks, lively music, and the whole energetic crowd vibe made it all unforgettable. Parking was still meh, but hey, can't win 'em all, right?"

Whether you're heading to an event at the Golden 1 Center, shopping at Macy's, seeing a movie, or stopping by to enjoy a meal at one of the many restaurants DOCO is a fun spot in Downtown Sacramento.Unless you park farther away and walk you'll most likely be paying for parking, you'll want to take advantage of the garage parking or street parking. Some businesses will validate garage parking, don't forget to ask before leaving.When there are events this area is extremely busy, on non-event days there's a good amount of people coming through and it's typically a mixture of tourists and travellers as well as locals.I like that there is a good mix of the typical chain restaurants mixed with local businesses. There are also hotels here that make it easy for visitors to stop by and enjoy fun local businesses without having to drive.DOCO is also very close to Old Sac and a lot of other nearby businesses.

What's not to love? You're onsite of where the Sacramento Kings play along with a ton of restaurants and bars. The chain restaurants seem to outnumbered the local spots, but if you step just outside of DOCO there are plenty of non-chain options to explore.I've been here twice now. The first time was to see a Sacramento Kings game a few years ago and the second being my most recent which was a quick stop for a few drinks. Besides eating and drinking there are outdoor seating areas with some lawn games and play areas for families.The one downside I see is the parking, but there are plenty of paid lots and meters around the area. Be careful when walking around here at night to refill the meter. The neighborhood seemed to get a little rough after sundown.I really enjoyed hanging out at the DOCO and I wish I had something similar in my neck of the woods.

Nice little spot in Sac. I took Amtrak, would be a nice date with the right woman. The walk from the train platform to the station is a mini trek. Lots of restaurants once you walk about 4 blocks from the station. I had lunch at Sauced Barbecue & Spirits. Another story.

Security needs to be better at DOCO. Multiple times my wife or myself have almost been hit kids (more like adults) doing wheelies. It smells like weed 24/7.

DOCO is one of my favorite spots to spend time in the city! They offer an array of activities and businesses to enjoy. I love their inclusion on lawn games, outdoor seating, live music, and interactive photo-ops. DOCO is home to the Golden 1 Center, which is an arena facility that houses the Sacramento Kings, sold out concerts, graduation ceremonies, and so much more. There is always something fun to see and something new to try. Parking is usually easy to come by whenever there isn't a major event happening at the arena (and most businesses in DOCO offer free validation for DOCO parking garages).The downside to DOCO is that whenever there is an event at the arena, it is PACKED. Sometimes too much to enjoy the surrounding businesses and your trip there. Overall, DOCO has great food, shopping, and activities! A great spot to takes friends, family, and dates!

More than just basketball...Does not mean Director of Commissary Operations or Designing Out Crime Officer. It is short for DOwntown COmmons. DOCO is located in the heart of downtown Sacramento... it has been the focal point of food, shopping and entertainment and with that, of course, come traffic challenges just getting there! It's even worse when there's an event at the Golden 1 Center or construction going on and you're diverted or merging into one lane. There is a parking garage located conveniently next to the shopping center and some businesses offer validated parking. Check with the store. I don't often come here but my experiences here have only been a handful like for Kings basketball games and concerts at the Golden 1 Center. Occasionally, I would attend Yelp events if the venue were held here... but to come here just to dine and shop, I would avoid. Also, know that there are more restaurants than shops (so far just Macy's and Urban Outfitters), so I wouldn't call it a "shopping" mall. This is a great outdoor walking area with lots of nice stores and shops. They have urban outfitters, a hotel, many different restaurants in cinemas. It's fun plaza as they do have bars. This area gets pretty lively during Kings games and concerts and it's the place to be. I love going to doco, so whenever someone says or mentions doco I can't turn it down. It feels very safe and welcoming as well.

Needs to allow Hookah to be promotional within doco. Invite orogold to come into doco and allow low rents of new president. Do More fashion shoes but free events and put trolley to old Sacramento CA . Immediate hires needed and shuttle service to doco established like red hawk casino Add casino's type dave and busters inside doco

I usually don't go out of my way to come to DOCO because of the traffic and congestion. But I am always so happy when I do visit. The stores, restaurants, and atmosphere are fabulous.
