Gold Souls played at DOCO, the reason I checked the place out. What an amazing band and they sounded good outside.

When in doubt, indoor dining is not an option, let's think outside of the box and bring the indoors outdoors! That is exactly the mindset that the developers and planners envisioned that are a part of Downtown Commons (aka DOCO). And in the fall of 2020, during the midst of the COVID-19 global pandemic, "DOCO Al Fresco" was born.Ever since this concept was brought to the public eye, it has attracted thousands of people to flock to the lush, upscale, landscaping that surrounds DOCO and nearby Golden 1 Center. These types of events have been occurring on a quarterly basis (usually every 3-4 months) weather permitting. This is where six different restaurants (Echo & Rig, Polanco Cantina, Yard House, Sauced BBQ, Tahoe Blue Ridge Bar, & local eats @ Golden 1) all participate in bringing their food out to you.The way this concept works is by making a reservation in advance. Upon arrival, you then wait to be seated. Once seated, you are given a QR Code Menu that you scan with your smart phone to view all six menus. You then place your order, pay using your smart phone, and your order will be brought directly to your table. It's that easy! During my visit (which was on during the afternoon of Sunday 2/28/2021), I came with a group of people and expected there would be some hiccups. Much to my surprise, my beer (from Tahoe Blue Ridge Bar) was brought out within a few minutes while my juicy cheeseburger & fries (from Yard House) arrived roughly 15 minutes later. Prices are equal (if not just a dollar or two more than inside the actual restaurant). In addition, there was a live salsa/mariachi band playing which made this whole event very lively on a beautiful 67° winter afternoon.I felt completely safe during my entire time here as each table was socially distanced while all of the employees were wearing masks. The only drawback is that your food is brought out in a to-go bag and no trays. My burger more or less came in a styrofoam container with lack of paper plates and napkins. Not a big deal but I hope they implement this in the future. Other than that, I hope DOCO offers this concept more often instead of every few months. I know with Sacramento's nice warm weather, it will get a ton of business. My rating for "DOCO Al Fresco", a perfect five stars.

If you don't know, now ya know! DOCO Al Fresco is the coolest outdoor seating experience, Downtown Sac has to offer! They basically arranged a huge outdoor section in the heart of the Golden 1 Center - where you scan one QR code for six of the participating restaurants nearby! It's easy and fun! From scanning the code, you order the food and beverages directly on the app, and you can order from multiple restaurants at one time. It's all on one check at the end. Ordering is easy! Wait time for foods, is comparable as if you were actually in the restaurant. The environment is family-friendly or a cute date night spot. On some days they have a DJ spinning the jams, but last night they had a live guitarist playing old school, chill, relaxing songs. It was the perfect weather and setting for a night out to dinner! I would highly recommend this as a change from cooking and eating at home during these quarantine days. I tried the Quesibirria Tacos Poblanco! You guys, seriously?! These tacos were deeeeeelicious! Peep my foodie pic! It even came with the tasty dipping sauce but let's be real I was too busy enjoying my tacos to post it. Whoops! Lol. While it might be a bit pricey for this entreè, they food was good and the experience was worth it. It was nice to just get out of the house! Really think 'bout checking this out! It's a fun experience... You're welcome ;)

With so many places closed this was a fantastic idea. The courtyard in front of DOCO has been turned into a social distanced eatery. You can order from whatever places are open around DOCO from your table and the food is delivered to you. There was a live band playing Jazz so it made for a relaxing and entertaining meal after watching a movie at Century which is just a few steps away. The only thing I didn't like was a lack of paper plates and free water but other than that it was great! Keep our restaurants open and come dine here.

Had an amazing time at the DOCO Al Fresco the other night. In what was one of the last perfect weather evening nights of the year in Sacramento, this was a pleasant experience with superb service. We had the entire grass area in front of Golden 1. Cocktail hour at 6 with passed cocktails and mixed drinks. There were several high top tables as well as some Adirondack chairs strategically placed throughout the area. For dinner , we were seated at 8 top tables, with white tablecloth service as well as some light music on the side as well. Our dinner. Insisted of a nice salad, a filet entree and and dessert. The entire meal was catered by the head chef at Golden 1, so a little different experience than the order from the 6 outside venues experience.Impeccable service provided by Cat, who's is one of the servers in the Lexus Lounge. She provided everything that we needed and created a memorable evening. Thanks to the staff at the Sacramento Kings for providing this top notch experience and a chance to dine Al Fresco next to the Golden 1 Center.

When I showed up to see Gold Souls, I had no idea of the set up. I though I could just walk up and watch the band. The only way to see the band is to enter the DOCO Al Fresco section. They asked for my reservation, and I was lucky and they had room for me. I felt bad for asking to move closer to the heaters, but they seemed very friendly about, like it was no big deal to keep moving me. The heaters help on a chilly night. When I return I will make reservations between 2 heaters. The menu system was quite complex for me as I don't eat out much and order on line. When you are seated you scan a bar code and it takes you to around 6 restaurants. It doesn't matter who you order from as it all gets brought to you. Everyone orders at a minimum of 2 places, one for food and another for food. The food was amazing. Still hot and fresh as you were actually sitting in the restaurant.I ordered from the Yard House and ordered: Lobster Garlic Noodles($23.95- Maine lobster, shrimp, crab, shiitake mushrooms, spinach, parmesan) It was amazing. I had my doubts. Seafood to go?! They really pulled it off. It was worth the $23.95 to have dinner and a show. I did get a CD and it sounds amazing and I can listen in my own home as they aren't on tour at this time.I had no idea this was going on down the street. If I had known I would have come sooner. I look forward to exploring the band selection and returning.

The ambiance is great for outdoor dining and getting the "Sacramento" experience. The musician was okay. He sang great songs but in a "Jack Johnson" toon. It was a little strange but it was great background music. I enjoyed having options from multiple restaurants. My only hesitation was that it was a very limited menu which is understandable because of the large area being accommodated. Being in a party of 6, the food took a very long time to get to us. We ordered our food around 9pm and didn't get it until around 10:15pm. The music had ended by then so we felt a little rushed to get out of there. The drinks were surprisingly good! Their main vodka is Tahoe Blue so be prepared for Tahoe blue centered drinks. They were very tasty though.

Today was our first time experiencing DOCO Al Fresco. We came on Halloween to see the light show and enjoy some good food.Pro: The show was super fun with great music! There was plenty of seating and very spread out for us, which we really liked. It felt more personal and private. They had a little spot for rocking chairs and fake grass where our little guy ran around. Before the show, the guitarist sang to our hearts. Con: Our food from Yard House took 40 minutes. We wish we had better text updates about how long our food would take. It wasn't busy at Al Fresco, but wasn't sure how busy it was at Yard House. We had to pay an arm for water instead of them providing water. We also got a code for free parking. It didn't work, so I emailed them and they sent another code, but that didn't work either. Luckily parking wasn't too expensive. All in all we enjoyed our experience. Not sure if we would come back for food. We would probably eat at the restaurant and then come by for any shows.

No live music as promised until we'd been there an hour. Ordering so complicated you need to be a software engineer, and prices like San Francisco. Min water price is $5. the food was pretty terrible. It was worth about 1/10th of the price. Really, really bad. Nah, don't think we'll be back despite the pleasant setting.

Absolutely loved everything about this concept. Outdoor, spacious, safety protocol was followed without feeling uneasy. The staff was very welcoming, and made sure we had everything we needed once we were seated. The best part is you scan the QR CODE on your table and the menus of all the 6 restaurants are now available for you to browse. You submit your order, pay and within a few minutes, the food and drinks are delivered to your table in a sealed bag. Tonight I ordered the Empanadas from Local Eats at Golden 1 Center and they were AMAZING! Along with the Slam Dunk Salad which had Kale, Romaine, Feta Cheese, Green Apples, Pomegranate Seeds, Seasoned Pepitas, Champagne Vinaigrette. So, so refreshing and good! We definitely can't wait to come back again and enjoy the outdoor scene and good food!
