Dine N Dash

If you know Colfax, CA then you know it's a tiny town on the way to or from Tahoe. It's cute, not a ton going on there. If you're adventurous you'll come upon Done N Dash. A beautiful restaurant with a bar that I'd like for my dining room table. That wood! Story for another time, back to my review.ALL of the staff are friendly, stylish and upbeat. The ambiance is delightful. Modern, gorgeous space.I'd suggest having a restaurant consultant or someone in the hospitality biz come and look at the space- it's a bit dis-jointed and needs some continuity. The food! The glorious food.My husband and I ordered the Prime Rib. It was the star of the show. Flavorful with or without the umami filled au jus and creamy horseradish. On its own, it was better Prime Rib than we found in the Bay Area for less than 1/3 of the price. Tasty sides of mashed and asparagus too!My Mom-in-love had the chicken sando and potato salad- huge portions and the next day I had 1/4 of the sandwich and some potato salad. It was dyne-o-mite!Overall this establishment is a winner! Not too hard on the wallet either!

Good breakfast stop in Colfax. Feeling an omelette & choose the California Supreme, with bacon, shrooms, Ortega Chiles, pepper jack cheese,topped with sour cream, avocado and sour cream. Came out quickly hot & filling. Opted for the biscuits and gravy. Rich with fresh made biscuits, chunks of sausage in the gravy.Mrs D's French dip was rated at two thumbs up.Garlic butter roll with grilled onions.Side of cole slaw.Friendly service, adult beverages served,but the bar area was closed when we dined mid day.Parking out front.Will return for dinner in the future.

Went here with my mother and father and 12-year-old daughter and everyone loved their meal. It's a nice size restaurant with lots of seating. Our waitress was especially sweet and kind. She indulged us teaching my 12-year-old about paying bills and ordering food. I would definitely stop by here again if wherever on our way out of town that direction! Rating of the food: Dill crispy chicken sandwich: 5/5 (not overpowering all the dill flavor, although I would not have minded that lol)kids, chicken strips and fries: 5/5 from my 12-year-old the chicken strip expert philly melt on sour dough: 5/5 from my dadvegi tacos: 5/5 from my mom (but she did say the salsa was a little too spicy for her, she has a spice level of zero lol)

Stopped by here for breakfast with some friends. They have great service, good food, an interesting menu and a fun atmosphere.

Let me tell you something people!!I walked in: was greeted by a beautiful young lady. I sat down and ordered cheeseburger and a steak sandwich which was amazing! Meanwhile I waited for my food order I ordered a bloody Mary and a coors light. This girl is speedy and pulled them out of her back pocket she brought them to me so fast. Good drink. The food was done very promptly. Place is clean and definitely suggest you checking it out. I didn't explore the bar side but it looked nice as well. Definitely recommend

Excellent food, spicy margarita, Kayla was our server and she went over the top to make us happy!

We dined but didn't dash. Lazy afternoon. We ordered drinks and Dill chicken sandwich and a Cesar salad topped with steak. Both meals were quite acceptable. American style diner food that blows Mel's away.Quiet Sunday afternoon. We had the whole back patio to ourselves. Dog friendly, our 2 Labradors enjoyed laying in the shade with us.Friendly service. Prompt and efficient.Wallet friendly prices.Easy I-80 access.Me likes, you will, too.

Great spot to stop at on our way to and from Truckee / Reno. Super friendly and speedy customer service. Hot, fresh, and tasty food!! Plus was they were incredibly dog friendly and right off highway 80. Win win all around!

For what you pay, it's not a bad deal to eat here.A friend and I decided to stop by after a hike and get some lunch. The parking in front was full so we parked in the back and there was plenty of room and even EV stations, which was surprising.Nice little restaurant but a million flies. There were so many, they kept trying to land on our food and in our drinks. They either need to keep the doors closed or install screens on the doors if they intend to leave them hanging open.Otherwise it was a good experience. It was just a little hard to enjoy our meal when we kept swatting dozens of flies.

Great waitress! Good food. A pleasant and convenient place to stop on the way to or from skiing in the mountains.
