An Authentic Chinese Establishment with delicious, unique dishes found in Northern China.Pro tip: Their English was a bit limited during my visit, so read the menu and reviews to have an idea of what to order before you arrive, as the menu can seem overwhelming due to the volume of unique dishes they offer. All of the items we ordered were outstanding. However, if I had to choose, the skewers were number one, followed by scallops and the small, yet pricey lamb chop were tied as a close second. The staff were friendly and the restaurant felt clean, with the option of outdoor seating. If you're looking for authentic Northern Chinese Cuisine, or essentially what I call "Chinese Yakitori", this is it!

Been awhile since we had some Chinese BBQ skewer so we decided to stop by this spot. This wasn't our first time here, but definitely will be our last. We ordered some beef skewers and we made sure to tell them to cook the nonspicy ones thoroughly because it's for our kid. I usually don't mind eating raw beef but since it's for a kid, it shouldn't be raw. When my daughter took a bite, I had to immediately asked her to spit it out seeing how raw the beef was. Usually for Chinese BBQ skewers I know it might not be cooked all the way but this was like 20-30% cooked. We told the lady who worked there and she had the chef grilled it some more. Bought it back and when I checked it was 50% cooked. Last time it was finally fully cooked and as she was bringing us the skewers she was here saying how we were sending it back so many times. Such bad attitude..... it was also super salty too....Anyways.... Won't be coming back again. If you gonna eat here, just be mindful of what you're eating.

It's a ma and pop shop and they are very nice. You can sit outside, too. And it is right next to a woman-owned shop that serves a small selection of Gunther's ice cream (Everest)! Skewer flavors: salty, gamey, medium mild spice even for "spicy" selection, savory, lightly smokeyThe skewers are the star of the show. They are very tasty and good quality, but definitely don't come here hungry unless you want to spend a lot of money. I think the only skewer I'm not particularly fond of is the capelin, but even that is pretty good if you like the tiny crunchy bone texture of a fishy fish. And the hot dog / sausage and quail eggs were just ok for me. I really enjoy the heart, grizzle (basically the knuckle joint and fat?), gizzards, and chicken skin. The spicy ones are not too spicy, but I have been leveling up for someone who is a spice weenie. They have extra seasoning at the tables if you want more spice and flavor. The scallops are also very tasty. Very garlicky, and pretty oily. Not overcooked, just right. The eggplant might actually be one of my favorites. It is very oily, and also very garlicky, basically same as scallops. Super soft, slight crisp on the skin. If you do not like slimey textures you will not like this. We also tried the eel claypot and rib claypot. I was not a big fan of the eel - I prefer a thicker, sweeter Japanese style eel but someone else might like these. They were slightly bitter, more natural tasting. The ribs were a more classic sweet but not too sweet Chinese style, which I prefer. Don't forget to eat the crunchy rice first (the claypot is so hot that it crisps the rice), as it is the best and best served fresh. The small sizes were good to share, though they are mostly rice.

Cozy small place thats serving clay pot rice and bbq skewers. You got a lot of options here from crispy chicken skin to lamb chops, quail eggs to bacon wrapped mushrooms . I love the sizzling seafood options like the grilled oysters, scallops and abalone. They also have few soup options, but definitely a good hang out spot to crack open a beer and snack on some amazing beer food. Prices not too bad at all - they go by pieces and you just fill it out w a pen and paper ranging from $2.99 to $8.99 Order how many (qty) and if you want it spicy or non spicy. Seasonings are pretty much the same for all the bbq skewers so I highly recommend getting spicy cucumbers to cut through that.

We came here on a rainy evening. We were seated right away. We were pretty famished and our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs. We ended up ordering a lot. We ordered the black chicken with ginseng soup, the cordycep chicken soup, pea sprouts, cucumber salad, chicken wings, spicy eggplant, scallops, abalone, gizzard skewers, lamb skewers, beef skewers and the black pepper beef clay pot with an egg. The soups were really good and I really enjoyed the scallops, abalone, spicy eggplant, chicken wings and the black pepper beef clay pot. Our pea sprouts and cucumber salad were pretty salty to my liking. The skewers were just okay. The beef skewer was overly cooked and chewy and the gizzard was not cooked long enough as it was still pretty chewy. The lamb was juicy and had good flavor. Overall, I would come back for the items I enjoyed if I am craving them.

Wow first time having Chinese bbq and it did not disappoint! Not the fanciest spot, but a great late night bite. Everything had great seasoning with a little kick. But you can always opt out of no spice. You place your order through a paper menu! My favorites had to be the cucumber salad, garlic capelin, water spinach, pork belly skewers, beef tendon skewer and scallops! Will definitely be back for more, would love to try their clay pots!

First time trying this place and it was a hit. Its a small lil place and we beat the rush. The tables filled up quick! My friend called 15min ahead to order the pork ribs claypot so that it's ready when we arrived. The rice was not as crispy as I'd like when we got there so I asked the lady to cook it a bit longer. I like my crispy rice really crunchy and she was kind enough to do it for us. Glad we did because it tasted soo much better. The spicy squid had really good flavor but the pork belly was probably my favorite. It was crispy and a good bite. Overall, I loved the food a lot and I'd def come back!

I had this place on my collection list for the longest time and finally got to try it and it did not disappoint!Restauraunt is small but cozy and service was very attentive and friendly. The claypot rice was soooo yummy! We got 3, but we should have gotten 2 to share with a party of 3. I was expecting it would a smaller size. Everything was seasoned well and of course my favorite part is the crispy rice on the bottom of the pot. We also ordered skewers and those were a hit as well. There is self-service tea that you can help yourself too, both are lightly sweetened and paired well with the food.I'll come back again when I have another claypot rice craving.

My favorite skewer place in town! This place is a mom / pop shop. They are NOT known for their service or speediness. Most of the time there's only the chef and the waitress, so please be patient and expect to wait. The waitress always ask you to order your clay pots as soon as you sit down because those take a lot longer to make. My favorite is the sausage one.My favorites: lamb skewers, scallops, the fish skewer that starts with a c, shrimp, corn. When water spinach is in season, I get a plate of that and it's a lot!Their black hen soup is like 18-20 dollars, It's small and expensive because they pack a lot of good stuff in it.But, personally it's not my taste. It has a bitter Chinese herbal / ginseng taste to it. It's suppose to be super healthy for you, but I just don't enjoy it. Maybe I will pick up the taste for it later. But, I see almost every table order it and gulp it down. Can't wait to come back!

Salt and pepper chicken wings: B-Crispy and lots of fried garlic. Comes out piping hot. Decent but the interior meat isn't very that seasoned.Salted fish and pork clay pot rice: B+I heard this was the spot for authentic clay pot rice, so this dish was actually legit. They use a real clay pot to get the super crispy rice on the bottom. Was on the salty side but flavor is nice. Overall I enjoyed it.
