Owner is very kind and works hard to support their community and be a kind face. Store is small, but it has the perfect amount of items for a corner store. TONS of drink options and food items and is the perfect little stop with great prices. I also get scratchers for here as well! Will continue to support this small business forever!

DJ Market is about as off-the-radar as a midtown corner store can get. It was only after driving by this location several times on several different days that I noticed the hand-painted sign and popped in out of pure curiosity. It's a classic case of not judging a book by its cover. I was instantly greeted by a cheerful little Asian man and asked how my day was going. A clerk saying hi, much less making eye contact? This place was already better than most of the markets I frequent. I surveyed the selection. Good craft beers? Check. Obscure snacks along with old favorites? Check. The hard-to-find sugar-free Red Bull in the large 12 ounce can (the reason I came in in the first place)? Check. I made my purchase and was happily on my caffeinated way. It's these kinds of mom-and-pop markets that give midtown its distinct charm. Sure it's a bit dingy and in a rundown building, but its got a lot more personality than the antiseptic, drab CVS up the street. If it came down to paying slightly more for a corner store versus the bland chain drugstore experience, that would be my choice every time.

It's your basic corner store - junk food, random beers, frozen burritos, little counter of emergency Tampax and batteries, your daily newspaper. But the owner is hysterical and a complete sweetheart. I could get a Sac Bee subscription and buy my Diet Coke at Safeway, but honestly, I come here all the time because I love seeing the guy smile and crack silly jokes with everyone. (and I live down the street)

I hope that there will always be corner stores like this. You can go there to get a quart of milk, a pound of sugar, a six-pack of beer. Pretty much anything you suddenly run out of, he has, reasonably priced too. And definitely going there is worth it just because of the nice man who runs the place, always with a friendly smile. Sometimes if you're lucky you can find him outside playing a traditional reed instrument - called a qeej I believe. Very pretty.

This place is a local staple. I find myself here pretty often, less when I'm on a diet. This is a family run operation and the family is friendly and down to earth. The best thing about this place though is that they sell Banh Mi sandwiches from the legendary Duc Huong

This market is only a few blocks from me so I'm here often, have met the owner and his nephew and they're both so friendly. Has a good selection of beers & wines, non alcoholic beverage options like olipop sodas, and everything else you need like toiletries. Perfect local spot to have in the neighborhood :)

Pleasant dude that runs the place. Beer, pizza, burritos and Cheetos. I don't actually know if they have Cheetos but it rhymed... Priorities when reviewing.. Accuracy may diminish in lieu of literary devices. I should also add lotto and dirty mags for all you sinners. I'm kidding, nobody's judging you.. Yes we are, it's 2013, and porn is free everywhere. I digress, it's what you'd expect from a corner market. And with a smile.
