Update: I recieved a harassing message from someone for my positive review. I stand by my review. I had a good experience and I will be back. I got the Corti Special on soft sour and it was delicious! I've heard it's one of the best sandwiches in Sacramento and I don't disagree. It was huge, so I shared it with my husband. I ordered ahead online. Glad I did because the counter was packed when I got there. For under $9, it was a great deal!I shopped around a little bit too. They have an excellent selection of pasta, sauces, cheeses, antipasto and Italian sweets. I was excited to see they had pastina, because it's really hard to find. So of course I bought some. The meat at the counter looked fresh and delicious. I'm happy I finally checked this place out and now I know where to go to stock up on my Italian ingredients. I'll grab another sandwich, too.

I enjoyed the sandwiches here, I've been eating them for over 30 years but yesterday at around 12:25 pm I came in and ordered two sandwiches, one for me, one for my wife, the sandwiches weren't made proportionately and one was way bigger than the other. I understand that with these sandwiches it's the luck of the draw in terms of portion sizes and that's fine. After eating my sandwich it was very rich as expected from all the deli meats, I tried to rest and overcome the feelings of indigestion and nausea but to no avail. Around 6:30 the stomach pains became unbearable, I had to vomit, after purging the bacteria ridden deli meats and vegetable contents of my stomach, I went into a downward spiral with intense stomach cramps and explosive bright green diarrhea(Gross, I know.) this condition persisted throughout the night and intensified with persistent vomiting, fatigue and lightheadedness and muscle cramps, leaving me in absolute agony and feeling like I was dying. My wife also wasn't feeling too hot and she looked up their recent health inspection reports. It turns out that they have been dinged by the health department for meats not kept at temperatures, cheeses and vegetable, some kept at temps as high as 52 to 60 degrees F, also deli prep stations kept over stocked and in an unsanitary condition. Also, Sanatizing buckets with 0 ppm cleaning solution. (Bacteria thrives in these temperatures and it's a recipe for disaster.)Without a doubt I had salmonella, listeria or ecoli poisoning. (I had eaten only the sandwiches on this day.)Beware if you come here for deli meats because they don't have adequate refrigeration and it is leading to food born illnesses, I also encourage you to look up their food inspection reports from the county.Update 2-9-2025: Still having persistent diarrhea, stomach cramps and vomiting green bile, all attributed to the Cortis Specials I consumed four days ago as I've never had these issues previously.Update 2-11-2025: Still having persistent stomach issues, cramping, nausea, hot flashes, chills, fatigue, weakness, throwing up green bile, it comes and goes, yesterday I felt alright, than today woke up feeling ill again. I'm pretty sure whatever it was, it was a serious toxin. The liver only creates green bile to rid itself of toxins in extreme situations. I'm worried if the symptoms don't stop I may have to visit the hospital. I can't believe that Corti brothers made me this sick, I so disappointed in the manager of 47 years for downplaying it and telling me it's normal, and also for the fact that they're so unhygienic now.02-13-2025The health inspector visited them, they cleaned up their act significantly, I will continue to report as necessary. They don't even bother to wash produce before serving on sandwiches. All meats and cheeses still above recommended temperature allowing food borne illness to thrive. An employee was concerned and notified the health inspector. Health department confirmed that the food poisoning was indeed likely from Corti brothers unsafe food handling.2-15-2025 This illness comes and goes, I feel fine for a day for two then the symptoms suddenly return, last night I had extreme stomach cramps, nausea and woke up to diarrhea. This is without out a doubt the worst food poisoning I've had to date. I have a very strong stomach, I never get sick like this what ever they poisoned me with has absolutely destroyed me.2-17-2025 the saga continues, I felt fine the day before but then throughout the night had weird fever dreams and woke to extreme nausea, vomiting and stomach cramps which persisted throughout the day. Tried eating a banana at one point and it felt like broken glass, I can't understand how Corti brothers has fallen this far from their former glory. They need to refurbish their infrastructure and get some decent refrigeration in the deli, before they kill someone with botulism. I can't believe they made me this ill. https://inspections.myhealthdepartment.com/sacramento/search?searchStr=Corti%20brothers

Yes another Corti Sandwich Review!!! HahaOne Sunday a month I treat myself and head to Corti brothers for a turkey sandwich or Grill Chicken Sandwich . You can't beat their sandwich prices, size, quality, and quantity of meat! Today, I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. My only complaint: the meat had no flavor. It tasted bland as if they cooked the chicken without any seasoning. This is normally not the case! I guess someone was in a rush. On the plus side there was no wait! Usually 10-15 minute wait on Sundays. Although, the chicken was bland, the bead was fresh and crunchy. DutchCrunch Bread! The veggies were fresh! Next time I'll make sure they season my chicken.

As the price of a sandwich continues to go up in the double digits, I was thrilled to hear about the Corti Special for $8.49, thanks to Yelp reviewers - you pick the bread, the cheese and the condiments/toppings and they will surprise you with the deli meat. It was a transcendental experience! Mine came with about 8 pieces of deli meat - 4 ham, 4 bologna kind of thing - so much meat and very tasty on a Dutch crunch bread, Swiss, Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, lettuce, tomatoes and pickles.

The market itself is adorable and has so many cool options and selections. Everyone here is incredibly friendly.BUT the sandwiches weren't great. Price was amazing. Bacon was crispy. The portions are amazing and the amount of ingredients in the sandwich is great...but the bread tasted a bit stale and the sandwich tasted kind of like nothing. A spicy mayo, pesto, or herbed olive oil would help. I added oil and vinegar and salt and it was a bit better but the bread was hard to get through. I probably wouldn't come here for a sandwich again unless I was in a pinch.

12/16/2024: Christmas shopping is one feat I do my very best avoiding, i.e., I always make a point completing my shopping either a week or preferably two weeks before Christmas week. Therefore, my shopping list comprises meals I'll create during Christmas and throughout the first month of a new year. This year is no exception. In addition, I've completed my elaborate meal plan which will tithe until, the last day of January 2025. Furthermore, I'm so elated Corti Brothers' location is in Sacramento, i.e., not too far from my humble abode in order, creating meals from the Italian Amalfi Coast without complications or missing key ingredients. As always, I make a point purchasing organic ingredients such as organic pasta, homemade ravioli, Pecorino Romano, Mozzarella Di Buffala, Parmigiana Reggiano, lemon-infused olive oil, etc.; however, I couldn't purchase the delectable tasty treats located in the Deli refrigerator due to health issues (TMI). Still, I'll always return shopping Corti Brothers in order, creating AUTHENTIC Italian Cuisine in particular, delectable meals created in the Almafi Coast.

In my last review (from over fifteen months ago), I promised to eventually try the sandwiches from Corti Brothers. Update: Tried them, loved them. The first sandwich I tried was from the grab and go case behind the deli. I don't remember everything that came on it, but the prize ingredient was heirloom tomatoes. It was $8.99. This was, by far, the best "poor boy" sandwich I'd ever had. I think I've had at least one more since then.My first custom sandwich was something that I messed up, and can't even remember anymore. I remember thinking, "I ordered this so bad, I can't even Yelp about it."On a more recent visit, I tried to take my time, and order very carefully. It's really kind of shocking how bad I am at ordering sandwiches, considering how good I am at taking sandwich orders and making sandwiches for other people...This time, I almost got it right. I just wish I would have asked for pesto instead of mustard, but, I didn't notice a spot for pesto on the sandwich order form.I ordered their BLT with light spinach instead of lettuce, with extra tomatoes, add avocado. When I saw the same deli clerk who'd picked my sandwich form pull a fat stack of bacon out of the warmer, I knew that this was going to be one of the best BLTs I'd ever had.Aside from the six bacon strips, he also gave me a very generous slathering of avocado, and it was good, fresh, perfect avocado. He actually gave me a ton of spinach, too, but that's fine. Made it more Instagrammable, anyway. One of my tomato slices was sadly lost to the sidewalk. RIP tomato.Like I said, if I ordered this particular sandwich again, I would probably add pesto instead of mustard and mayo. Then again, on the other hand, I think I might just try one of their hot sandwiches, instead. For $11.99, this was definitely the best deal I've gotten on a premium sandwich all year.

We found this grocery store on yelp and it is nowhere near us, but we love to check it out on the weekends. I just love all the homemade pastas and sauces they offer. The service is always great and the store is always nice and clean and the condiments are always faced forward to perfection! We will continue to try every little bit when we can and explore each of the Isle for something new and delicious!

Congrats to Corti Brothers for making to 2024's Top Places to Eat in Sacramento according to Yelp Elites! I knew after seeing them on the list and always seeing how busy their parking lot is, I had to check them out.I orders the Corti Brothers sandwich special, where you pick the garnishes, cheese, bread, and they pick the meats. I must say the Dijon mustard is SO DELICIOUS, and their pickles. They were honestly the star of the show which surprised me a lot. The sandwich was 10/10 I loved it. They have a great variety of groceries, specialty items, and locally-made items. I would love to come back and browse their aisles!

Whether you live in the Sacramento area or you're just visiting, Corti Brothers should be on your list. They are a specialty market and have so many great items, from regular groceries to hard to find ingredients, snacks, alcohols and more. This is a popular spot, so if you're trying to avoid crowds go during work hours or earlier in the day. Many people do their regular grocery shopping here, so weekends and evenings can be busy. They have fresh produce, a deli, meat counter, a large pasta selection, canned goods, fresh baked bread and many local and international items. We always go to the deli counter and order sandwiches (the Corti Special is my favorite) and pick up deli meats and cheeses, along with some of their sausages and olives. The olives are really good here! They also have prepared foods that are great for parties or a quick meal. the pate is also really tasty.Behind the deli counter is a cheese area and their wine and beer section. They have a lot of variety and we love trying new things. They also carry some harder to find beverages and I've heard their liquor selection is top notch. The butchers are so friendly and we always get quality meat here. They offer seafood as well. The team here is happy to answer questions and they work through the lines pretty quickly. The produce here is always fresh and I love the local and seasonal items. I recently bought Concord grapes which are really hard to find in the area. The shelf stable items range from everyday items to hard to find specialty items. We always grab a loaf of bread on our way to the checkout and it never lasts long once it makes it home.We do end up spending more here than other grocery stores, but they're local, have fresh and quality items and the staff is always friendly. Plus the sandwiches are AMAZING.
