THE SCONES. I want the chocolate chip scone again. I want it so bad. Someone I was with bought a box of baked goods from Coffee Works and I was just in awe. Everything looked so good, but the scone was calling my name. It had the perfect crispy outer shell with the softest inside. Good scones are hard to come by, especially from coffee shops, but this one stands supreme. I thought it had to come from a bakery, but to hear that it came from a coffee shop was surprising, but so impressive. I will dream of these scones!

Coffee Works is my go-to spot when I want to switch up my coffee routine. It's where I indulge in my current obsession: a coconut mocha with oat milk paired with their black bottom cream cheese muffin, which is so good it should come with a warning label. Seriously, I think about that muffin way too often (and you will too since it's hard to find elsewhere). The vibe here is always bustling in a lively, inviting way--like you've stumbled upon a hidden gem that the cool crowd already knows about. They offer an impressive variety of food options and more syrup flavors than I knew existed. It's also a decent study spot if you're lucky enough to snag a table before they fill up.That said, the place is better than good but not quite great. It feels a bit rundown in ways that aren't charming; think chipped paint and outdated decor that could use some love to elevate the atmosphere. On rare occasions, I've had to send back my coffee because it tasted burnt, but the staff is always quick to make it right. Speaking of the staff, they're consistently friendly and efficient, even during the busiest rushes. If you're in East Sacramento and haven't been to Coffee Works yet, treat yourself--you deserve it! Just know that while the coffee and food shine, the ambiance could use some polishing to match their offerings. I say this because coffee shops are now on every corner and highly competitive. It would be nice for this place to stay around.

Coffee Works is a fantastic spot for coffee lovers in Sacramento who appreciate quality and a relaxed vibe. This unassuming shop serves some of the best locally roasted coffee around, with a focus on bold, rich flavors that shine in every cup.The atmosphere is laid-back and artsy, with plenty of seating both indoors and out. It's a great place to bring your laptop and get some work done or meet up with a friend for a casual chat. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always happy to help you navigate the menu or suggest something new to try.Their espresso drinks are spot-on, but the real standout for me is their cold brew--it's smooth, strong, and just the pick-me-up I need. They also have a nice selection of teas and light bites, like pastries, if you're in the mood for a snack. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the parking situation. It can be a bit tricky to find a spot nearby during busy hours. But once you're inside with a warm (or iced) cup in hand, it's all worth it.If you're serious about your coffee and love supporting local businesses, Coffee Works is definitely worth a visit!

Was out refilling our coffee beans from another coffee spots and grabbed drinks there. But was also in the mood for some breakfast eaeats, so we decided to check out Coffee Works for the first time after. There's always a bit of hesitation going to a new spot, as you don't knknow what to order or what's good, and don'twant to hold up the line. So we told the lady behind the counter who was extremely helpful. She told us about their various pastry and breakfast food options, and that thethey're made fresh each mornikeyand then brought to their shop.Food:Berry Parfaits (x2)Bacon & egg burritoTurkey & Provlone CroissaintOverall:Friendly and helpful staff, and good good. Would definitely check this place out again if in the need of a breakfast bite. And for sure want to come back and check out their coffee.

This spot is a cute quick stop for coffee and pastries. The service is great as well because the workers do ensure to get your order correct and they're so nice! This spot does get busy and you'll see people chatting and studying. It's a great spot!

You can tell it's well loved by regulars. Great place to come for a casual coffee & quick bite. People are here for hanging out or working on their laptop. Service is friendly, ambiance is that of a small business/local coffee shop.

To the point: * its fine. * coffee is alright.* prices are consistent with other coffee shops.* baked goods are the highlight. * parking is...interesting. Long Version:I have visited this place a few times. The Baristas are cool, helpful, pleasant. A good many places to sit down (inside/outside). Space is clean, all is fine. Now, for the coffee. I have not been blown away by it...(yet?). Maybe I am getting the wrong thing, and I understand decaf, in many places, is an americano style pour over. So I guess I can't knock them for that. Today it did taste like tea-coffee (not sure if that makes sense). I also tried the herb egg and cheese croissant. Solid 6/10. If I didn't eat it there, I would've doctored it up a bit at home. But it was tasty and hit the spot. All in all, go check em out and show support. The lines come in waves, but service is quick. We parked on the other side of the gas station, less hassle. I will return to try their other baked goods.

Great find. It certainly is bigger on the inside that first appears so lots of seating. Enjoy the tables outside in this great weather! 24 oz iced green tea is just right mild for me. Love they have breakfast and lunch options. Ham and Swiss croissant was tasty and filling. They have a roaster on the premises. Parking on either side of the building as this is in a moderately busy street. Helpful person to help me with selections today.

I'll start with the positives, service and ambience is good. I did not try any food. However, the coffee.... My friend and I got entirely different drinks, iced chai latte and a coconut vanilla latte hot. Both of them were honestly so watered down and the flavor was not something I could finish drinking. Maybe a bad batch of espresso? I'm not sure but paying $9 for a small coffee is outrageous, especially when I just threw it out. I've had bad coffee before, but nothing like this.
