I visited Sacramento a couple months ago for a reading series called Stories on Stage. I was invited as an author for the 2022 season, and as I'd never seen my work performed before, I decided to make the trip from Los Angeles. It was a cool event, with two performances of written pieces read aloud by local actors. If you live in Sacramento, I'd highly recommend this series, as it's well run and well attended, with booze and books available on the premises. The show took place at the CLARA auditorium, a performing arts space that seems to be available for community events like this one. It was spacious, with a small stage and plenty of room for folding chairs and a bookselling area. Acoustics were good, and the show was fantastic, though I'm certainly biased. My only complaint is that it was freezing after the sun went down. It was a mistake to wear a dress instead of pants and maybe a blanket.Anyway, if you're looking to rent a stage or attend a cool event, definitely check out the CLARA Auditorium. If I lived in Sacramento, I'd keep an eye on the calendar.

Lovely little venue with some interesting community events, I'm going to be sure to keep an eye on their calendar. I've been to a couple of their stories on stage events and had a great time. I hope they add more events to their repertoire. The only issue with the space itself is that it's fairly susceptible to the weather (stuffy when it's hot out, chilly when it's cold out), but it makes up for that in charm.
